918. Date Preperations
Jury had the right intentions when she wanted to help Frost find something suitable to wear to their date.
âI picked out a few of the ones I thought youâd like.â
âSorry, I think your definition of a few is a bitâŠâ
But she might have gone overboard. Their little, cozy bedroom was stocked full of clothing. Pillars of clothes piled up on the bed, the drawers, the cabinets, the little bedside table. The doorhandle of the french door leading to the balcony somehow managed to balance a column of shirts.
Frost wasnât sure if she was being pranked by her lover. Surely, Jury wasnât oblivious at how absurd this was.
âHmm~?â Jury tilted her head.
The cute twin tails she had dangled to the side.
â⊠much. Thatâs not going to work on me.â No matter how adorable Jury was, or how irresistible those puppy eyes were â Frost had to put her foot down.
If it was just their bedroom, then she honestly wouldnât have minded.
But when she opened the bathroom and found even more stacks of clothes, she had no choice but to reprimand Jury.
âDoes this look ok to you?â Frost sighed, widening the door for Jury.
She couldnât even get the bathroom door fully open with how many clothes were inside!
âAww. I wanted to give you a decent selection this time.â She frowned.
âHey, that face also isnât going to work on me. Haaaah. You know I donât wear much, right? Have you even looked in wardrobe?â
Three sets of casual clothes. A jacket. A long rack of tights and pantyhose. And the clothes she received that âChristmasâ night from everyone. That was all Frost had aside from her usual Amalgam apparel.
Juryâs face soured when she peered into the wardrobe. Pure, unfiltered disgust filled her face. She couldnât believe that Frost was living like this. Although to Frost, it was perfectly fine.
âThatâs exactly why Iâm doing this. Compared to me ââ
She opened her side of the in-wall wardrobe, pulling aside the wooden lattice door. A gorgeous display of clothes, dresses, skirts, overwear, underwear â even bathing suits hung along the walls.
ââ Isnât your side lacking?â
Frostâs side was incredibly shallow. It was barely a meter deep. Her most prized possession was probably her stack of tights, since she enjoyed the feeling of wearing them.
As for Juryâs? One could walk into her wardrobe and end up in another part of the estate. That was not an exaggeration. Juryâs wardrobe had multiple entrances around the estate, including two bathrooms (one upstairs and downstairs), the upstairs area of the Atrium, and most importantly, the kitchen.
âWell, yeah. Lacking compared to yours.â Frost argued, folding her arms.
Jury pouted. âNuh uh. Have you seen Berâs wardrobe?â
âSurely it isnât ââ
âThe entire east wing is practically her drawer! You know every guest wardrobe? If you knock two times and tickle it a bit, then itâll open into her secret drawer compartment~â
Frost wished she didnât hear that. The fact that Ber or someone else could be living in their walls during the night unsettled her. Especially if a CERtain wolf knew about it.
âTickle it a bit, huh. Wait, why am I getting into this? Like I said, Iâm completely fine with what I have.â It was final. No amount of convincing would get her to change her mind.
However, after having a closer look at Juryâs wardrobe, she couldnât help but understand where she was coming from. As a guy whose largest exposure to fashion was her work clothes, she didnât have much interest in how she looked outside when it mattered.
Not like anyone will remember my face. Is what Iâd say, but⊠Iâm sure my face is everywhere right now.
It wouldnât surprise her people recognized her the moment she set foot into the Nex Megalopolis. The Blessed now knew her face by heart. Because of that, she carefully hovered a hand around a bunch of shades Jury had set on display.
There were shades made from a hard, transparent plastic, those with heart-shaped rims, and golden ones that were decorated with diamonds.
I didnât Jury liked jewelry. I guess thereâs things I still donât know about her.
When she asked about it, Jury waved it off with her tail and laughed.
âA lot of them are donated to me by the Minu Auditors. Youâd be surprised how many Nobles try to bribe our Moons. The whole City of Diamond is rotten to the core. Tsk.â
âWe have a whole list of domestic problems to solve, huh â Mmph?â
Jury suddenly cupped Frostâs mouth. She brought her face close. The bulbous tip of her tail rubbed against her cheek, then gave her a few light taps.
âWeâre going on a date. No business talk. Just us two, ok?â Jury punctuated.
âMmhm.â
Goodness⊠I can taste her. Sheâs so sweet, as usual. Did she put perfume on? Ah, what the hellâŠ
Suddenly, kissed her captorâs hand.
âDonât bite~â
âIâm kissing, not biting.â The Maw of the Amalgam was always at the forefront of Frostâs mind whenever she kissed Jury. âIâd never bite you. Never in a million years. Cheesy, I get it, but Iâm dead serious.â
The fact that just a single chomp could severely hurt her put her off a lot of activities. Sensing Frostâs concern, Jury suddenly took her by the shoulders and escorted her out of her secret wardrobe.
There was a strange door labelled âFor Future Night Activitiesâ behind a rack of jackets. She didnât say anything, but the way her body heat up and her subtle flush made it obvious. Three more soft taps were placed on her cheek.
âI can show you a bit later~â
âNo wonder weâre heading to H9 as wellâŠâ Frost murmured softly.
âI didnât want to choose things that youâre not comfortable with.â
âAha? What about the clothes?â She playfully teased her back. âIâm joking, Jury. I donât mind it too much. Just a bit whiplash, you know? Itâs more comfortable doing it with you. I wouldnât try to experiment on clothes alone.â
âWhy not?â
It was an irrational reason with no real basis. Frost explained it to her as simply as that. There were no frills or beating around the bush. She just didnât find it interesting. It tended to irk Frost as well whenever she saw her body in the mirror.
The lack of scars played a large part in alienating her from her body.
Upon saying this, Jury sat her down. Afterwards, her tail opened to reveal four moist petals. It gently and slowly, ever so slowly, peeled her royal garbs away. Parts of Frostâs flesh were laid bare until she was completely naked.
There was no shame or a desire to hide her breasts away from Jury. Her heart, body and mind belonged to her. Plus, she trusted Jury with her life. Jury wasnât the kind of person whoâd take advantage of a person in their most vulnerable state.
âIrrational or not.â Jury grabbed the standing mirror from the other side of the room and placed it down in front of Frost. âI love you just the way you are.â
Jury sat down beside her and cupped her hand. It was warm, like the heat of a gentle fire. The ticking of Juryâs heart permeated through her fingers. Their rings touched, the metallic clink reminding Frost all over again why she fell in love with Jury.
âAaaah⊠Remember when I used to be the one whoâd comfort you? Yeah, me too.â Frost laughed. âGeez.â
She leaned over and pinched Juryâs cheeks
âWhenâd you get so bold? I could have sworn you were never this bold. What happened to my
innocent
Jury?â
âI take after Elysia in that sense~â
âWhat, gonna eat me right here? Heh. Why donât I take the reins for once?â
âYouâve tried. But youâre so submissive ââ
âYou think so?â
It was genuine question. Frost didnât think she was
that
submissive. At least not in her standards. She just preferred to be on the bottom. Plus, if Jury was content with doing all the work then, was she really submissive?
Jury pinched Frostâs cheek back.
âAnd you call me oblivious.â She sighed.
A warm, soft hand pressed against her belly.
âYouâre not going to find any muscle on me.â Frost laughed. âKind of a shame. Being this short girl with a big appetite makes me wonder if itâs easy to underestimate me. Could be good thing, but Iâd like some marks to show what Iâve been through. And you wonder why Iâm so attached to the Coat of Prejudice.â
The Coat of Prejudice was outdated beyond belief. It wasnât until recently that it became her strongest apparel to date. The coat continual degradation, repair and upgrade was a way for Frost to prove that she was growing in a physical sense.
Plus, she also had her hair to thank.
The unique blend of colors was beyond eye catching. Truth be told, even if she wore nothing but a cardboard box, sheâd probably still garner the same amount of fascination than if she wore something normal.
âYou keep squishing my belly. Revenge for whenever I touch yours?â
âHmm. Itâs⊠more than that.â Jury wore a soft, solemn expression suddenly.
âYouâre not going to say? Donât leave me hanging.â
âIâll tell you soon~â
She sifted through the clothes and held various ones against Frost, checking to see which one she liked. It wasnât long before Frost decided on an outfit with a white, long sleeve turtleneck, black jeans with suspenders that ran over her shoulders, a blue beret hat and a pair of nondescript black shades.
The look was Frost-Approved!
