Old Madame Ji waved at the two of them. "Come over here, Suisui and I have something to discuss with you!"
Upon hearing Old Madame Jiâs words, Ji Youyuan showed little reaction, but Huo XingâEr was completely flabbergasted.
Isnât Suisui with me? When did she join Mother?
Old Madame Ji chuckled lightly, pointed to the Lotus Pond on the side, and said, "Sheâs in the Lotus Pond over there. You two go stand by the edge and talk to her. And definitely donât jump in!"
Given Ji Youranâs previous misadventure, Old Madame Ji made a point to give them this extra instruction.
"Understood, Mother!" Ji Youyuan and Huo XingâEr replied, then walked over to the edge of the Lotus Pond and called out, "Suisui!"
"Eldest Maternal Uncle! Second Maternal Aunt! Youâre finally here!" Xiaosuisui chirped, swimming happily in the Lotus Pond. Hearing Ji Youyuan and Huo XingâEr call her, she quickly swam in their direction.
"Eldest Maternal Uncle, hug!" The little girl raised her arms in the Lotus Pond, eager for a hug from her long-unseen eldest maternal uncle.
Huo XingâEr, who was reaching out to lift her from the Lotus Pond, was so annoyed she called her a "little ingrate."
"You really are a little ingrate! After all the love your Second Maternal Aunt showers on you, you only want your Eldest Maternal Uncle and not me!"
As Xiaosuisui was being held by Ji Youyuan, she said cheerfully to Huo XingâEr, "Second Maternal Aunt hugs me every day. I havenât seen Eldest Maternal Uncle in ages!"
What she said, though not entirely pleasant, certainly made sense!
Huo XingâEr wasnât angry anymore.
Ji Youyuan said, "My little sweetheart is so thoughtful. I truly wish your Eldest Maternal Aunt could have a little daughter as thoughtful as you!"
Xiaosuisui blinked. "Isnât Eldest Maternal Aunt already pregnant with a little sister?"
Huo XingâEr coughed. "She hasnât been born yet! How would you know if itâs a boy or a girl?"
She surreptitiously glanced at Old Madame Ji.
Every mother-in-law hopes for a grandson; Mother, please donât read too much into this!
Old Madame Ji didnât notice Huo XingâErâs covert glance, but chuckled and said, "It would be best to have dragon-phoenix twins, one boy and one girlâthat would be just perfect!"
Xiaosuisui clapped her hands. "Dragon-phoenix twins are great! Dragon-phoenix twins are great!"
Ji Youyuan couldnât help but plant a soft kiss on her cheek, then asked, "Where is this? How did I get here?"
Old Madame Ji explained, "This is Suisuiâs Dream Realm. You remember when Suisui cried out for my help in a dream, donât you? It happened right here. It turns out she really did pull me in."
Huo XingâEr and Ji Youyuan werenât surprised by Old Madame Jiâs words. They had already suspected Xiaosuisui might possess some hidden secret, possibly an ability to enter othersâ dreams. Who would have thought she possessed such a formidable ability, to pull peopleâs Divine Souls directly into her own Dream Realm!
"I see. So, when Third Brother and Seventh Brother suddenly fainted, was it because they also entered Suisuiâs Dream Realm?" Ji Youyuan asked.
Old Madame Ji nodded. "Correct. They indeed entered."
Huo XingâEr and Ji Youyuan looked around. Not spotting Ji Youran and the others, they asked in unison, "Then where are they?"
The Old Madame responded with some helplessness, "Suisui sent them all out. Second Daughter-in-law," she said to Huo XingâEr, "after your husband, Second Brother, came in, something happened. From now on, he might..."
For the first time, Huo XingâEr saw Old Madame Ji hesitate like this, as if withholding something. Sensing the matter might not be simple, she promptly asked, "Might what?"
