Dugu Xiao huffed and puffed as he chased Ji Youzhi. Despite using his light martial arts and sprinting, he still couldnāt catch up.
He scratched his head in confusion. "Strange, Ji Youzhiās light martial arts is certainly good, but Iāve never seen it this impressive before!"
Finally, they stopped at the entrance of a Gambling House. Ji Youzhi pointed at the large banner displaying the character for "Gamble" and asked skeptically, "This is the place? Are you sure?"
Xiaosuisui nodded. "Definitely. Second Uncleās trunk is inside!"
"Whew... Iām exhausted! Old Ji, when did your light martial arts become so sublime? I couldnāt keep up! I remember we used to be evenly matched!"
Ji Youzhi glanced at him coolly, as if daring him to a comparison.
"I... I give up! Letās not talk about it. Is the gold in here? We should get inside, the sooner the better..."
BANG! A man was violently thrown out of the Gambling House.
"Get lost! And donāt ever come back to our Gambling House! If you do, weāll beat you every single time we see you!"
The men from the Gambling House viciously threatened the man sprawled on the ground.
"You heartless, inhuman fiends! Didnāt you say youād return my familyās land if I won? Do your words mean nothing? Is this how Liās Gambling House operatesāby being utterly shameless?"
As the man spoke, Xiaosuisui and Ji Youzhi couldnāt help but be surprised. They quickly turned to look at him and exclaimed, "Zhao Fei? What are you doing here?"
The man on the ground, battered and bruised, was indeed Zhao Fei. Seeing Xiaosuisui and Ji Youzhi, he struggled to his feet, extremely awkward and abashed, and called out respectfully, "Princess!" His expression was stiff and pained.
"They beat you? Why did they beat you?"
Seeing the bruises on Zhao Feiās face, Xiaosuisui felt a spark of anger ignite within her.
Who dares hit my person? Are they tired of living?
Without realizing it, Xiaosuisui had already begun to consider Zhao Fei her property.
The little girl planted her hands on her hips, her small mouth set firmly. Her furious expression was somehow both adorable and fierce as she stormed into the Gambling House.
"Who hit my person?"
Xiaosuisuiās sudden action left Ji Youzhi and Dugu Xiao stunned. They were slow to react. It wasnāt until the clamorous shouts of "Bet big! Bet small!" from inside the Gambling House abruptly ceased, followed by uproarious laughter from the thugs within, that Ji Youzhi and Dugu Xiao finally snapped out of it and rushed in after her.
"Where did this baby come from? So young and in a Gambling House? You must be lost!"
Hearing herself called a baby, Xiaosuisui indignantly planted her hands on her hips and retorted loudly.
"Iām not a baby! I stopped drinking milk ages ago! Iām not lost, and I came here on purpose!"
The little girl tilted her head back, the large scar on her left cheek starkly visible. It made her look rather... how to put it?
If such a scar were on a middle-aged manās face, their first reaction would undoubtedly be fear. On a womanās face, she would simply be deemed ugly.
But now, seeing such a large scar on this little girlās face, these coarse men actually felt an unexpected pang of compassion!
"Baby, this isnāt a place for you. You should leave quickly!"
She was only a child of a few years; the men in the Gambling House had no intention of making things difficult for her.
Xiaosuisui, however, stood firm, hands on her hips, and loudly declared her intentions.
"I know what this place is! And this is exactly where I meant to come!"
The Gambling House thugs couldnāt help but roar with laughter.
"Oh, you know what this place is, do you? Then tell us, what exactly happens here?"
