Everyone looked in the direction Xie PanâEr was pointing. The water was spinning, and a dark, plump object gradually emerged from the ocean.
"Is that... a black dragon beast?"
Ji Youzhi gasped, his eyes widening.
Xiaosuisui blinked and announced, "Thatâs a big python!"
"A py... python? Can pythons be that big? This is terrifying!"
Xie PanâEr was still in shock, tightly clutching Xiaosuisui in her arms.
Xiaosuisui struggled to free herself from Xie PanâErâs grasp, taking a deep breath.
"Pretty Sister, donât be afraid! This big python doesnât eat people!"
"How do you know it wonât eat people? Look, itâs coming towards us! Quick, letâs hide in the cabin! We can come out after it fights the National Master and leaves!"
Scared witless, Xie PanâEr clutched Xiaosuisui, wanting to go back to their room.
Xie PanâEr, however, in her extreme caution against the python, failed to notice that it hadnât actually advanced yet. What she also failed to guard against was Yanyan on their own side, who was constantly scheming to bring about Xiaosuisuiâs demise.
Since the danger first appeared, Li Yanyan had hidden herself well. She possessed numerous life-saving items given to her by the National Master. Furthermore, the boatmen, sailors, and government officers were too weak, no match for Ji Youzhi and the Emperor, so she had not yet faced any real peril.
Xiaosuisui, on the other hand, was fearless and always spoiling for a fight, so she constantly captured everyoneâs attention.
The Emperor, Ji Youzhi, Xie PanâEr, and Princess Ata always watched her every move, constantly reminding her to be careful and protecting her from time to time.
This scene did not escape Li Yanyanâs notice, and jealousy flared within her.
At this moment, the black dragon beast had finally appeared. Mr. Wu and the National Master were locked in an intense battle, and the beast was heading straight for their ship. It was clear the vessel was now in extreme danger.
Xie PanâEr, worried for Xiaosuisuiâs safety, wanted to take her back to their room.
Before Xiaosuisui could object, Li Yanyan began to stir up trouble.
She stood at the outermost edge of the deck, hands gripping the railing tightly, and let out a loud cry of "Oh no!"
Everyone on board looked towards her, assuming she too was frightened. They reached out, intending to pull her to a safer place.
The person closest to her was undoubtedly Xie PanâEr.
Xie PanâEr, holding Xiaosuisui with one hand, reached out to Li Yanyan with the other. "Miss Li, give me your hand! Iâll take you and the Princess back to the room."
However, Li Yanyan, as if she hadnât heard, covered her face and began to wail.
Everyone assumed she was too terrified to offer her hand to Xie PanâEr.
Xie PanâEr thought so too. So, even as the black dragon beastâs tail swept towards their ship, she braved the danger and stepped forward, reaching to take Li Yanyanâs small hand.
But the instant Xie PanâEr grasped Li Yanyanâs hand, Li Yanyan suddenly grinned at her, a wide, malicious smile spreading across her face. Then, with a powerful exertion, she struck Xie PanâEr with a palm attack!
The palm strike was imbued with profound Inner Strength and formidable power, sending Xie PanâEr flying overboard, straight into the sea.
"Miss Xie!"
"Suisui!"
"My child!"
"Princess!"
Xie PanâEr had been holding one of Xiaosuisuiâs hands. As Li Yanyanâs unexpected attack sent her flying, she inadvertently pulled Xiaosuisui into the sea with her!
"How could this happen?" Princess Ata stared blankly at the seaâs surface, where ripples still marked the spot where Xie PanâEr and the Princess had fallen!
"Li Yanyan! What are you doing? Why did you strike them into the sea?"
Li Yanyan stared at her own hands in disbelief, muttering, "I donât know... I didnât... It wasnât me!"
"Still denying it? I never thought someone so young could be so malicious!" The Emperor was furious, a murderous intent rising within him.
Ji Youzhi stood his ground, glaring venomously at Li Yanyan. "You had better pray theyâre unharmed! Otherwise, Iâll chop you into pieces and feed you to the fish!"
After roaring his threat, he leaped into the sea to search for Xiaosuisui and Xie PanâEr.
The Emperor, standing on deck, was also about to jump in, but Princess Ata grabbed his arm. "Your Majesty, can you swim?"
Her question left the Emperor dumbfounded. "I... I cannot!"
"If you cannot, then please stay here and wait. They will be alright!"
Princess Ata had barely finished speaking when they saw the black dragonâs tail move in the sea.
"Look! Isnât that the Princess?" Princess Ata asked the Emperor, pointing at the black dragonâs tail.
The Emperor looked closely and was stunned. His precious daughter was riding on the black dragonâs tail, reaching her small hand into the water.
"What...what is she doing? That black dragon is dangerous!"
Princess Ata shook her head. "No! That black dragon might be dangerous to others, but for the Princess, it might actually be a source of help!"
"Help... a source of help?"
"Has Your Majesty forgotten about the Princessâs... unique ability with words?"
A âBANG!â seemed to go off in the Emperorâs head, as if his skull had cracked. "Thatâs right! So, has Xiaosuisui tamed that black dragon?"
The Emperorâs heart settled with immense relief as he watched Xiaosuisui pull Xie PanâEr onto the black dragonâs back, with Ji Youzhi quickly swimming up towards them. He could finally relax.
"Wonderful! Suisui has tamed the black dragon! We should be able to pass through Black Water Ridge safely now," Ji Youzhi said with great relief as he climbed back on board.
"But the National Master and Mr. Wu are still fighting up in the sky!" the Emperor said to Ji Youzhi, pointing towards their battle.
"I donât possess the National Masterâs profound Power; I canât levitate like that, so Iâm unable to help him!"
Ji Youzhi had just finished speaking when they heard Mr. Wuâs incredulous voice cry out, "How is this possible? How could you two little children tame the black dragon? Impossible! The black dragon should have been your doom! Why were you able to subdue it?"
Mr. Wuâs voice, filled with utter astonishment, reached them, and everyone could easily imagine his terror.
"And why couldnât I tame the black dragon? Besides, itâs not a dragon; itâs a python! A massive python that has slumbered for many years and hasnât even become a true dragon yet, alright!" Xiaosuisui, sitting on the black pythonâs back, loudly corrected Mr. Wu.
Xie PanâEr, however, was trembling violently. "Princess! Can you... can you carry me and fly... Fly! Letâs fly back to the ship before we talk anymore! Iâm truly... truly terrified this giant python will devour us!"
Xie PanâEr was incredibly anxious. In this moment, her mind suddenly became remarkably clear, and she remembered how her Princess loved to fly.
