Chapter 264 - 263 - Family and Friends.

After watching Elma work for a while, I had to leave the library because people started recognizing me. I teleported straight to my room, where my computer was waiting.

I immediately turned it on and opened the browser.

"The store’s still up. The power generator is way too expensive... I wish I could bring my computer to the mansion."

It doesn’t take me more than two seconds to travel from the mansion to here, but I still prefer writing there, near all the girls. I feel lonely when I’m here.

"Although... being alone isn’t always a bad thing."

It’s good for clearing my mind.

I left my chair and started searching through my cabinets. I found some novels and manga I hadn’t sold when I arrived in this world. There were still quite a few of them.

I even found a couple of figures hidden away.

"Should I start making manga too?"

People are addicted to my books... What if I adapted them into manga?

I could recreate Re:Zero manga in this world. Or other popular series like My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, and so on...

"If I keep leveling up my drawing skill, it’ll be easy. But maybe I shouldn’t think about that for now."

I put everything back in the cabinet and threw myself onto the bed.

As I lay there staring at the ceiling, I started thinking about the dream I had about my mother...

I wonder how she’s doing?

Even if it looks like I don’t care, I do. I care a lot.

"What would she say if I told her I’m going to marry three women? She’d probably go nuts."

I laughed to myself before letting out a long sigh.

"Well... I don’t think I’ll ever be able to tell her."

Suddenly, the mood grew somber.

To cheer myself up, I got out of bed and sat in front of the computer again. I opened WordPad and started typing like crazy.

"Writing always lifts my spirits..."

Words quickly began filling up page after page.

Before I knew it, hours had passed.

"I should head back." I saved the document and shut down the computer. After stretching, I teleported near the mansion.

I appeared on the same rooftop floor and sat on the now damp tiles.

It had rained a lot.

The streets were soaked.

But the sky was clear now.

"It’s going to get dark soon... I should head back and start preparing for dinner." I sighed and teleported into the mansion. As soon as I arrived, Hestia saw me and shouted.

"YOU TOOK WAY TOO LONG! WHAT WERE YOU DOING?!"

"I was with Elma, I swear."

"Liar."

"I visited Elma, then went to my room. I started writing and lost track of time."

"Hmph! You should’ve at least told me you’d be gone that long."

"I’m sorry." I walked up to her and kissed her soft pink lips.

"It’s okay, I’m overreacting a bit. Here, take a look." Hestia handed me a piece of paper. "This is the guest list for our wedding. And this second sheet has the food I want at the wedding banquet."

"You already prepared all this?"

"Of course! Mikoto and Lili helped me. They picked their favorite foods. We also selected the guests together. Look, there are lots of names from Mikoto’s old Familia."

"I see."

"What about you? Who are you planning to invite? Your Familia? Friends?" When I heard those words, I didn’t know how to answer.

I never really talked to her about my past.

All I told her was that I came from a distant place—and that’s not a lie.

But Hestia believes I’m from this world. She thinks I can bring my friends and family to the wedding.

"Well..." I scratched my head, unsure of what to say.

"..." Hestia stared at me silently. Then she sighed and smiled. "It’s okay. Don’t stress about it. You can decide who to invite later."

The next day, I talked with Hestia and the girls about my conversation with Elma. Hestia was thrilled to hear that Elma would help us find a place for the wedding.

After breakfast, I teleported straight to the library.

I still haven’t tested all the limits of this ability.

Maybe I can even teleport to the bottom of the dungeon someday.

When I appeared in the library’s meeting room, Elma got startled again. She spit out the tea she was drinking.

"Pfftt!!"

Wide-eyed, she set her teacup down and ran over to me.

She gave me a soft punch to the chest as she shouted,

"I told you not to do that! You’re going to kill me!"

"Sorry, there’s no way for me to warn you I’m coming."

"Just show up somewhere I can’t see and call out to me! If you keep popping up in front of me like that, I will die!"

"Alright, I got it. Anyway, I’m here to talk about the wedding."

"I figured that’s why you came. Actually, I talked to someone about it yesterday."

"Someone?"

"Yes, he’s an influential man in the city. He’s really good at finding rental venues."

"The same guy who sold me my mansion?"

"No, someone else. He said he can help you find a place for your ceremony and reception. But he told me he won’t be able to get a spot in the busiest part of the city."

"I don’t care about that. Even if it’s near the wall, that’s fine."

"Alright then. Here you go."

Elma handed me a piece of paper.

"This is his address and name."

"Wait, you’re not coming with me?"

"I want to stay as uninvolved as possible. I’ve already helped you a lot, you know?"

"All you did was talk to someone you know. That’s not a big deal."

"Ungrateful..."

"I’m kidding~~" I said, teasing her. "Thanks for this. Don’t worry—you’ll get an invitation soon."

"You better! If you don’t invite me, I’ll be really upset. I’m excited to see what happens..."

"Nothing’s going to happen. I’m going to marry three beautiful women and then take them to my room and—"

"Too much information! I don’t want to hear any of that!"

"I’m kidding. Anyway, I’ll head out. I need to talk to this person."

"Wait, before you go, I want to ask you something."

"Hm?"

"Did you stop writing by any chance?"

"Of course not. I’ll be bringing you new volumes soon."

"That’s great!"

Elma is very impatient. I just released some new volumes, and she’s already dying for the next ones.

Elma values money more than her own life.
