POV: Mikoto
As soon as we entered the Dungeon, Luan wanted to go down to the 20th floor. However, it had been a long time since I last explored the Dungeon, so I asked him not to. I donāt feel confident exploring the lower floors right now.
Besides, I want to test my new sword.
So Luan teleported us to the 10th floor.
Iām always impressed whenever he uses that teleportation ability. I just canāt get used to it. As soon as we arrived on the 10th floor, the mist filled my vision.
But since Iāve explored these floors before and my senses are sharp, itās not a problem.
Luanās senses are even sharper than mine, so just seconds later he found a monster for me to test my new sword on. It was an Orc. Iāve fought Orcs beforeātheyāre dangerous monsters.
One attack is enough to kill you if youāre not careful.
But Iām confident.
"You can test your sword on it," Luan said.
"Alright." I nodded, looking at him seriously.
Then I walked toward the Orc. With each step I took, I grew more nervous. After all, itās been a long time since Iāve faced a monster. To be honest, Iām relying heavily on this sword.
Iām ready to run if necessary.
Besides, Luan is here. Everything will be fine. Luan is probably the strongest adventurer in Orario right now. His aura is unmatched. He could probably kill Ottar if he wanted to.
Alright, focus. I gripped the hilt of my sword tightly and held it with one hand as I approached the Orc. But when it noticed me and charged in my direction, I grabbed the sword with both hands.
Then I activated the swordās ability.
My magic was drained, but less than I expected. The blade began to glow brightly. My eyes widened as I saw the Orc approaching quickly. Take this! I shouted in my mind and swung my sword upward.
The moment I did, I felt my body pushed slightly backward. Then something was createdāsomething invisible, but judging by its shape, it was probably a gigantic blade. The Orc was cut in half and died instantly.
But it wasnāt only the Orc that was sliced apart. The ground, the treesāeverything in the path of the attack was cut through. Even the mist was blown away by the force of it.
I looked at Luan and asked, "Luan... Is this real?"
My heart was racing. It felt like I had obtained a power I shouldnāt possess. This is too muchāthis ability is far too powerful. I could probably even kill a dragon with this.
The structure of the Dungeon was damaged! A massive hole had been carved into the ground.
I took a few steps back and looked at the sword with the black blade. Can I really keep this?
"Youāre thinking something unnecessary, arenāt you?" Luan approached and placed a hand on my shoulder. Then he looked at the hole in the ground and sighed. "Huff... Impressive, isnāt it?"
"This is too much, Luan. I canāt keep this sword."
"Of course you can. I have an even better sword than that one."
Hearing those words left me stunned.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Do you want to see it?" Luan smiled mischievously.
For a moment, I thought he meant something perverted again, but Luan said, "Stop thinking nonsense." Then he pulled out a completely black sword from his inventory. His sword matched mine.
"That sword is better than the one Iām holding?"
"Yes, itās better. Please donāt tell anyone about this sword. Itā"
Luan began explaining all of the swordās abilities. He said it contained the soul of a true dragonāa dragon whose origin he doesnāt know, but one that is extremely powerful. He also said that even monsters from the lower floors fear that sword.
He said the sword itself emits a threatening aura.
"Besides that." Luan released the sword, and it began to fly.
"What is this!?" I stared at it as it flew at high speed in every direction. After a few seconds, it returned to Luanās hand with a shattered magic stone at its tip.
"It has a will of its own. I can communicate with the dragon inside it. It saved me once, you know?"
"You can communicate with it? Do you think I could do that too?" I asked. Iām very curious about how that works.
"So, can you talk to her?" he said, looking at the sword.
The sword flew out of Luanās hand and approached me. It felt as if I were staring at a predator. I felt extremely nervous looking at that blade. After a few seconds...
[ So youāre one of his women. Not bad. He has good taste. ]
I heard a deep voice inside my head.
I looked around, then at the sword.
"Was that you who said that?"
"Is he talking to you? What did he say?" Luan asked.
"Heās saying unnecessary things." I let out a small laugh.
[ Itās not unnecessary. I just said he has good taste in women, since this human is beautiful. ]
"I see." Luan laughed.
This time he said it for both of us to hear.
"Please donāt say things like that. I get very embarrassed."
[ Alright, alright. If youāll excuse me, Iāll go back to sleep. ]
After that, Luan grabbed the sword and stored it away. Then he asked, "So, what did you think? Fun, right?"
"Do you trust him?" I asked.
Even if itās just a sword, heās still a living being. He could try to do something against Luan.
"Donāt worry. I trust him." Luan smiled.
I hope that dragon really is a good "person"...
