Chapter 1196: Chapter 180 Everyone Can Be a Dragon! (6200)_3
Ian stroked his chin, his eyes filled with doubt: "This mechanical structure... is very new."
"I believe that the civilization of the previous era used semi-mechanized Magical Beasts to guard their homeland. And the fact that these semi-mechanized Magical Beasts went out of control, driving the Humans away from the sanctuary, forcing them to build villages and towns on the first layer... I also believe."
"But..."
Saying this, Ian raised his hand and picked up a piece of the shredded Magical Beastâs corpse. He carefully examined the Inscription Circuit on it and then shook his head, saying: "The civilization of the previous era used the anti-Spirit Energy coating and stealth circuit, technologies developed only in recent years. This I cannot believe."
He tossed aside the bug Flesh and Blood, then looked around at everyone, determinedly saying: "The bug may be old, but the mechanical structure is definitely new."
"Indeed. This isnât normal. This place is a safe area; our advance party has already driven off most of the dangerous creatures... The Demon Bugs included. These mechanized Demon Bugs shouldnât exist; they have appeared only in the last one or two weeks!"
Anfa felt a bit uneasy, although the strength of this semi-mechanized centipede was really not strong. Even with the defense of the mechanical structure, it barely reached the First Energy Level. Without the anti-Spirit Energy coating, it couldnât even ambush Sio.
But its existence itself indicated that the ruins had changed: "Last time I didnât stay long on the second layer, and didnât encounter enemies on the third, so Iâm not very sure... But if the Exotic Species Research Institute still has the capability to create such mechanical Magical Beasts..."
"Then, the environment inside the Labyrinth is definitely more dangerous than we imagined!" Her expression turned solemn.
"Weâll deal with whatever comes our way."
Ianâs expression remained unchanged, and he didnât continue speculating. He signaled everyone to move onward: "If thereâs nothing unexpected, other Exploration Teams probably also encountered such monsters... Interesting, this sneaky ambush by semi-mechanized Magical Beasts, if slightly stronger, clearly sufficient to injure those at the Second Power Level, yet itâs using such weak Demon Bugs for ambushing, seemingly just a test and a warning."
The youthâs words made Anfa thoughtful. Ian continued calmly: "It seems this ruin wants to select not only Dragon Blood... but also requires strong spirit and sharp reflexes. Interesting, what exactly is it selecting?"
ââThat expensive anti-Spirit Energy coating yields little effect. Itâs selecting someone who can perceive monsters and traps without needing Spirit Energy... The answer is clear, it has to be the Silver Chip.
The plan to select targets starts from the minutest detail... Even Ian had to praise the meticulousness of the one behind it, but that person miscalculated one thing.
And that is, Ian is still a Prophet. He can sense various anomalies even without the Silver Chip.
"Selecting... what?"
Everyone followed Ian, Anfa still pondering, and Yisen Gard also proactively began attempting to find hidden Magical Beasts using the high life perception of the Eclipsing Light Refining Dragon.
As for Sio, she remained indifferent, but this time, if someone with Spirit Energy vision were present, they would see a faint dragon shadow appearing behind the pretty-faced girl, covering the surroundings, conducting broad-area probing.
No traps or Magical Beasts can ambush Ianâs focused team, and indeed this second layer âTwilight Sanctuaryâ is rife with deadly traps and vicious beasts.
Some are ancient mines from the previous eraâs civilization, possibly laid to counter out-of-control experimental Magical Beasts, and who knows why they can still function over a thousand years later. The expiration itself is mythically strong, and their power is as terrifying as Alchemic Cannonballs.
Yet in front of Ian, all these mines are dismantled before they detonate, as their control centers are disrupted by strong magnetic fields.
Some are various mechanical insect-type Magical Beasts, hidden in the dark corners of rooms and ruins, which launch fierce attacks as soon as someone approaches, neglecting the awareness of strength.
But these beasts canât even get past Anfaâs sword; Yisen Gard can manipulate Flame Flow to roast them into pieces of iron-plated bug meat.
The interior structures of the ruins form a large and tremendously complex grid layout, filled with various broken and collapsed buildings, which transform the place into an artificial Labyrinth. The originally solid rock floor is full of gaps and pits, and nobody knows which buildings that appear identical hold treasures to be uncovered and which conceal dreadful monsters and traps.
But under Ianâs Guidance, the team seems to stroll leisurely through the ruins like walking in a park, occasionally finding some fairly intact mechanicals from the civilization of the previous era, like miniaturized air-conditioning units, some kind of abandoned storage facility crystal discs, and some mysterious objects Ian couldnât immediately determine without the Silver Chip.
Itâs not that Ian isnât capable, but anyone would struggle to understand what each palm-sized âcompression capsuleâ reveals upon decompression... He can guess these heavy yet inconspicuous compression devices should be some kind of simple foundational construction equipment, possibly to aid sanctuary residents in survival outside, but precisely what they are, can only be distinguished after decompression.
"This compression technology is really worth learning. Unfortunately, it probably requires an entire technical chain. Even if I analyze it with the Silver Chip later, Iâd at most get the finished product; the preceding processes have to be reverse-engineered slowly."
