Adrian Shaw followed Daniel Haleās gaze.
That was the location of one of their sniper positions.
But the sniper was positioned behind their main defensive line. Not even a Mutated Zombie could have gotten past it.
Everyone nearby instantly went on high alert.
"Itās right there! Itās getting closer!"
Daniel Haleās brow furrowed.
āCould that zombie be invisible?ā
But he could clearly sense its presence.
"Is it too fast to see?"
That was the only explanation Chester Pearson could come up with.
āNo, thatās not it.ā
Nina Jacobs knew Daniel Haleās senses wouldnāt be wrong.
āCould it be...ā
Her eyes widened, and she was already sprinting in that direction.
It was a low, earthen slope by the side of the road.
Several members of the Superpower team were already there, on high alert.
"Move! Run!"
Nina Jacobsās shout came from a short distance away.
Two of the members reacted quickly enough.
But their reaction was followed by several pained screams. The two survivors stared in shock as their teammates were impaled.
Sharp Wood Element Vines had burst from the ground, instantly running four of the team members through.
Their bodies hung from the tips of the vines.
Blood gushed down from their wounds.
SWISH!
A sharp blade sliced horizontally through the vines.
The Fire Roaring Blade plunged into the ground.
"Itās underground! Everyone, fall back!"
āDamn it.ā
āI should have realized sooner.ā
āIf I had reacted just a few seconds earlier, those team members would still be alive.ā
Nina Jacobs stood her ground. As she pulled the Fire Roaring Blade from the earth, its tip was already stained with dark blood.
The ground began to heave and roll.
Several more wooden spikes shot out from the ground, only to be incinerated the next moment by the liquid fire Nina had spread across the surface.
ROAR!
A small, gaunt Mutated Zombie leaped out from the ground.
The palm of its hand had already been pierced by Nina.
Now, it was roaring at Nina Jacobs in a fury.
"How did it get underground?!"
Chester Pearson couldnāt believe his eyes.
āA Wood Element zombie hiding underground?ā
"Unless... itās a Dual Element user. Earth and Wood."
Adrian Shaw had already formed a Thunder Ball and hurled it at the Mutated Zombie.
As the Fire Roaring Blade swung, unleashing a Fire Blade, several Fireballs simultaneously rained down from above.
BOOM!
The Thunder and Fire Element attacks all found their mark.
However, this was clearly no ordinary zombie. It instantly materialized Stone Shields all around its body, even over its head, to block the assault.
"As expected, itās an Intermediate."
Nina Jacobs said. āOnly an Intermediate Mutant Zombie could withstand my attacks.ā

Everyone present grew tense.
The next second, the zombie had vanished back into the earth!
"Iāll leave the rest of them to you guys,
Iāll take this one."
Nina Jacobs said to Adrian Shaw, who was standing beside her.
"You..."
Adrian Shaw wanted to say more, but he knew he was no match for Nina Jacobs.
He finally understood why the base had requested her help.
"Be careful, then."
Before the words were even out of his mouth, Nina Jacobs was already dashing forward.
Nina Jacobs activated her Five Senses Enhancement, and she could now clearly hear the sounds from beneath the ground.
"Youād better not come out."
Nina Jacobs touched the soft ground with one hand. Empowered by her Earth Element Superpower, the liquid fire rapidly seeped into the earth!
Everyone nearby was mesmerized by the sight of the flowing, liquid fire.
No one knew that Nina Jacobs had already fused her Fire and Earth Element Superpowers.
BOOM!
The Superpowers collided beneath the ground, and the force of the impact blasted the Mutated Zombie back to the surface!
Countless vines sprouted from its right arm, whipping rapidly toward Nina Jacobs.
The vines snaked around her flame-wreathed Fire Roaring Blade.
A smirk played on Nina Jacobsās lips as she sent a Fire Serpent surging back along the vines!
"āOf course... only she could do it.ā"
Myra Lawson murmured, watching Nina Jacobs in the distance.
She had known Nina Jacobs was an Intermediate Superpower User, but she never imagined she was this powerful.
Even with all their preparations, if Nina Jacobs hadnāt been here...
...they would have been completely overwhelmed.
Daniel Hale watched from a distance, his expression full of worry.
The Mutated Zombie had caused dozens of sharp Stone Spikes to erupt from the ground.
All of the Stone Spikes were aimed at Nina Jacobs.
Just then, a Fire Serpent leaped into the air.
With a swing of Nina Jacobsās arm, the Fire Serpent shot forward.
After being slammed by the Fire Serpent several times, the Mutated Zombie actually tried to flee.
But for some unknown reason, it suddenly staggered.
"It worked!"
Chester Pearson exclaimed in delight.
The Fire Serpent had coiled itself tightly around the Mutated Zombieās body.
Countless vines sprouted from the zombieās body in an attempt to extinguish the Fire Serpent.
Just then, Nina Jacobs vaulted into the air, running across the Stone Spikes that were crumbling under her power!
SLICE!
The Fire Roaring Blade cleaved it down the middle.
The vines instantly stopped growing.
Watching the Mutated Zombie get cleaved in two, Myra Lawson finally let out a sigh of relief.
Nina Jacobs dug out two Intermediate Mutated Crystal Cores.
Just now, she had used her Earth Element Superpowerās Quicksand Trap to restrict the Mutated Zombieās movements.

Nina Jacobs was referring to the four members who had been impaled.
"Three died on the spot. One is undergoing emergency treatment."

Daniel Hale walked over.
He noticed a slight scrape on Nina Jacobsās hand and urged her to get it treated.
"I know."
Nina Jacobs said nothing more.
She walked toward the medical vehicle, where the stench of blood was thickest.
"Nina Jacobs, are you alright?"
Pascal Paige was desperately trying to stop the bleeding of the most grievously wounded team member.
She looked up and saw Nina Jacobs, her expression filled with concern.
"Iām fine, treat him first."
When no one was looking, Nina Jacobs slipped a bottle of Healing Potion to the unconscious team member, pouring it into his mouth.
After a while longer, the last of the zombies outside were finally cleared out.
Although the convoy was already on its way back.
But Nina Jacobs knew the base was about to make a major move.
Because Liam Grantās "precognitive dream" had come true.
When Nina Jacobs and Daniel Hale got home, Wayne Warner was crouching at the door waiting for them.
He only stood up when he saw Nina Jacobs had returned.
"Looks like you took care of it."
Seeing their expressions, Ian Chandler also breathed a sigh of relief.
"Yeah, Nina solved another big problem,
She was so badass."
Daniel Hale praised her with a humorous tone.
"Good thing it was just a supply run today."
Sherry Renner had also just returned from her work.
If they had been escorting that many survivors like yesterday, there would have been heavy casualties for sure.
And when everyone learned that Nina Jacobs had encountered an Intermediate, Dual Element Mutated Zombie, they were all stunned.
"These zombies are getting insane. Theyāre even stronger than humans now."

Leo Hale said, feeling more and more that he needed to get out there and train.
Just then, Nina Jacobs received another system gift: one bottle of Healing Potion.
