Nina Jacobs seemed to have disappeared for a while recently.
To think she was now looking at this kind of flyer.
Her thoughts were interrupted. Nina Jacobs looked up and saw Renee Strong and the convoy of cars behind her.
"Do you need something?"
Nina Jacobs asked.
She hadnāt seen Renee Strong in days and noticed she looked rather haggard.
"Just saying hello. Weāre about to set off for City J to look for supplies. The base leader sent all these people to protect us."
Renee Strong pointed at the cars behind her, as if showing off.
Nina Jacobs also saw Myron Sinclair in one of the cars.
"No one wanted to say hello to you until you opened your mouth,"
Leo Hale said.
They hadnāt told any outsiders about Nina Jacobsās last trip to City J to find Wayne Warner.
He had no idea what kind of drama these people were trying to stir up now.
But he remembered Chase Gallagher and the others saying that the supplies in City J had already been mostly cleared out.
It just seemed that Renee Strong and her group didnāt know about this yet.
"Nina Jacobs, are these your new teammates?"
Liam Grant also walked over.
He noticed that besides Leo Hale, there were several other unfamiliar faces around Nina Jacobs.
"If you havenāt found a team yet, you can join ours. Weāre also recruiting new teammates."
Liam Grant had also seen the flyer in Nina Jacobsās hand.
Nina Jacobs stood quietly by the roadside, exuding an aura that was different from her past life.
He couldnāt help but want to ask her a few more questions, but he was interrupted by Leo Hale.
"Hey buddy, where do you get your confidence? You really think youāre such a hot commodity?"
Renee Strongās brow furrowed slightly.
āLiam Grant really canāt forget Nina Jacobs, can he? Even though things were finally starting to go well between us.ā
"Liam, itās time to go."
Myron Sinclair lowered his car window. Simon Abbott was sitting next to him.
"Letās go, Liam. We need to get on the road,"
Renee Strong urged as well.
"Yeah."
Liam Grant took one last, deep look at Nina Jacobs before getting into the car.
"I canāt believe people are still going to City J now,"
Wendy Marshall couldnāt help but say.
When they came back, the number of zombies on the roads in City J had already increased significantly.
"They probably think itās still early."
After receiving the map from Adrian Shaw, Nina Jacobs had used Five Senses Enhancement to locate where Liam Grant and his group were staying.
It turned out that the idea of going to City J to find the Mystic Ice Core had originally been proposed by Renee Strong.
Her goal was to help Liam Grant find the Mystic Ice Core and awaken a Dual Element Superpower.
Besides the Mystic Ice Core, they also planned to search for more supplies in City J to bring back.
"I heard some of Renee Strongās relatives have been causing her trouble lately,"
Chase Gallagher said.
Nina Jacobs had previously asked him to keep an eye on that group.
So when he was gathering intel later, he paid extra attention to what they were up to.
āRelatives?ā
Nina Jacobs vaguely remembered that Renee Strong had a few relatives at the base.
It was just that in her past life, they had all kept to themselves, and those relatives had never given Renee Strong any trouble.
āIt seems Renee Strong must have done something different this time around.ā
"This is so weird. Why would the base send people to follow them to City J?"
Even after they left the base, Leo Hale still couldnāt wrap his head around it.
"Thereās probably another reason,"
Nina Jacobs said nonchalantly.
As far as she knew, Myra Lawson had already secretly dispatched a group to City J.
Their objective was to find the special type of Crystal Core she had told them about.
As for why Justin Lawson sent people to follow Liam Grant, it was most likely to obtain more information.
...
The group left the base and drove off in their planned direction.
After days of training, Nina Jacobs noticed that everyoneās Superpower proficiency and zombie-killing abilities had improved dramatically.
Not only that, but their teamwork was also becoming more and more seamless.
And they werenāt just killing zombies.
Nina Jacobs would also lead them to various supply caches that were difficult for others to find.
Although they were all small caches, they were still incredibly rare finds.
"I canāt believe it, thereās actually a small shop hidden here!"
After using his Gold Element Superpower to open a metal roll-up door, Leo Hale looked at the supplies inside the store with pleasant surprise.
"Looks like our luck is pretty good today."
Jessica Vance also walked in, pleasantly surprised.
They found that everything in the shop was still well-preserved.
It was a small retail store that didnāt have a huge inventory.
Fortunately, most of the supplies were common items like instant noodles and ham.
There was even a small amount of cigarettes and alcohol.
Nina Jacobs walked around and couldnāt shake the feeling that there was something strange about the small shop.
āThese supplies look more like they were restocked by someone later on.ā
However, she had already confirmed that there was no danger here.
But just as Yvonne Willow was collecting the supplies, a somewhat beat-up sedan pulled up outside.
The people inside didnāt get out, simply rolling down the window.
"Need something?"
Leo Hale assumed they were there to fight for the supplies.
The Flowing Light Dagger spun in his hand, a clear warning.
"Donāt misunderstand, weāre not here to rob you. Weāre just warning you that these supplies belong to the Crawford Army, and their people should be here any minute."
The man in the car pointed to a symbol drawn on the wall.
"Thatās the mark the Crawford Army uses. You should probably leave while you still can."
"The Crawford Army? You mean Hugo Crawford?"
Leo Hale frowned.
"Thatās right. They have a lot of people out today. If you donāt leave now, itāll be too late."
A girl inside the car added another warning.
They genuinely seemed to have good intentions and no desire to take the supplies, so Leo Hale put away his Flowing Light Dagger.
"Thanks for the warning, but we killed the zombies around here, so we wonāt be giving up the goods."
Nina Jacobs said to the people in the car after hearing them out.
"There are only a few of you, but they have dozens of people,"
Arthur said disapprovingly.
The Crawford Army was growing stronger by the day. Even if this group seemed confident, crossing them would not end well for anyone.
"Nina Jacobs, letās go. Iāve finished collecting everything."
Yvonne Willow came out.
Her speed at collecting supplies was getting faster and faster; it had taken her less than ten minutes to clear out this place.
"Go? Letās see who dares to leave without putting our supplies down!"
A Wind Ball came flying at them from around the corner.
BAM.
With quick reflexes, Leo Hale had already materialized a Metal Shield and blocked the Wind Ball.
Immediately after, however, several cars pulled up.
A large group of people got out of the cars, and a few of them blocked Arthurās vehicle.
"Arthur, why do you have to be so nosy?"
A man with a nasty look on his face kicked the already beat-up sedan.
The carās hood was instantly sent flying.
"Tch, is that all?"
Holden Shaw sneered.
He could tell the man was probably a Strength Element Superpower User.
But that kick probably didnāt have as much force as one of Wayne Warnerās fingers.
Celandine Young turned his head to look at Holden Shaw.
"What did you say?"
"I said youāre pathetic,"
Holden Shaw said loudly.
āItās not that Iām trying to pick a fight. Since Nina Jacobs said weāre not backing down, then weāre not backing down.ā
"Young, these girls all look pretty good. Every single one is top-shelf."
After one of them spoke, the whole group roared with laughter.
"Damn right. The brothers are getting tired of the old ones. Itās about time we brought in some new stock."
The man grew more and more animated as he spoke.
In the next second, however, a silver flying blade shot out and sliced off his right ear.
