The next day, Adrian Shaw led everyone back to the area near yesterdayâs underground cave first thing in the morning.
In the cracks of the rocks above the cave, they used the detector to find more scattered Mystic Ice Cores.
There were even a few Ice Cores as long as half a meter.
This far exceeded everyoneâs expectations.
"Weâre rich! Weâre rich! The base is going to be loaded now."
Shirley Lucas said, incredibly excited.
This trip to the Bishop Clanâs territory was so worth it.
"Oh, right. Veronica Ziegler and her people should still be near Mornfell. After we leave, you all need to be careful of them."
Nina Jacobs said to Trevor and his people.
âVeronica Ziegler is probably still waiting for Alistair White.â
âTheyâll probably stay here to continue looking for the inheritor.â
âThe news that Mornfell has Mystic Ice Cores will spread, and this place wonât be peaceful for long.â
"Thatâs true. The Bishop Clan is well-hidden, but why donât you all come with us to the base?"
Adrian Shaw asked.
"Thank you, but we have no intention of leaving."
Trevor and his people had already anticipated this possibility.
But no matter what, they would never abandon their ancestral teachings and leave their homeland.
"Well, itâs not like there arenât any options."
Nina Jacobs said.
She had just used her Fire Element Superpower to burn all the bones in and around the cave to ash.
âIf they spread the word that all the Mystic Ice Cores here have been taken, it might divert some attention.â
"Thatâs true. No one knows we were here."
Trevor considered the feasibility of this plan.
"Veronica Ziegler?"
Hearing her name, Lucasta Moreau secretly made a decision. He would never let the outsiders who had exploited the Bishop Clan get away with it.
It didnât matter what ancient family they came from; he would make them pay for the deaths of his clan members.
It was evening by the time Nina Jacobs returned to the Bishop Clanâs settlement.
The Bishop Clan members held a grand victory ceremony for them.
Toya was also greatly shocked after hearing about the events of the past two days.
"If those Mutated Weasels hadnât been dealt with, they would have found their way to our clan sooner or later."
Toya said.
They all knew the habits of weasels. Aside from their astonishing reproductive rate, their favorite pastime was taking over othersâ nests.
If they were left to their own devices, they would probably have taken over all of Mornfell.
Meanwhile, Shirley Lucas took out the corpses of various Mutated Animals from her spatial pocket.
Upon seeing the massive carcasses, everyone stood rooted to the spot in shock.
âAre these all Mawdrake carcasses?â
"So many... Is that... a mutated wolf?!"
"And this one! Itâs a mutated brown bear! Last time, Ken and his group ran into it and..."
"Mutated boars are no weaker than mutated wolves."
The gazes of the onlookers toward Nina Jacobs and her group had turned to awe.
Even Lucasta Moreau hadnât expected that a mere ten or so people could accomplish so much.
âIt seems our information and abilities here in the Bishop Clan have really fallen behind...â
"Does this mean we donât have to worry about Mawdrakes anymore?"
Maya Warner was also delighted.
"The meat of these Mawdrakes is edible. Iâll have to trouble everyone to process it over the next couple of days."
Trevor said to his clansmen.
Shirley Lucas and the others planned to leave all the Mutated Animal carcasses for the Bishop Clan.
After all, the weather was hot, and the bodies would rot easily even when stored in her spatial pocket.
"No problem at all. We can turn it into jerky for our heroes to eat on their journey."
A woman with tanned skin said.
"Youâve all worked so hard these past two days. Just leave this task to our people."
Toya also had a look of immense gratitude on her face.
It wasnât just Nina Jacobsâs group; the remaining members of the rescue team, led by Joanne Page, had also completely cleared the Mutant Beasts from their entire section of the mountain.
It was a debt of gratitude they would never forget.
After returning to their resting place, Joanne Page recounted their experiences over the past two days.
"Itâs all thanks to the Golden Silk Armor Nina Jacobs left for us. A lot of our people were injured, but none of the wounds were life-threatening."
They hadnât been idle these past two days either, helping to hunt and kill over forty Mutant Beasts of various sizes.
"Weâll rest tomorrow. The day after, we head back to the base."
Adrian Shaw announced after discussing it with Nina Jacobs.
âFor some reason, though, he felt Nina Jacobsâs tone was a little like she was giving instructions before a final farewell.â
"Here, this is for you."
Nina Jacobs gave Adrian Shaw a Lightning Attraction Lock, a gift from the system.
The Lightning Attraction Lock was a Thunder Attribute Weapon she had obtained back at City D Base after killing one of Hugo Crawfordâs men.
Because there hadnât been a Thunder Element Superpower User in her group, it had been sitting unused.
âAdrian Shaw is leading the team back to the base, but I donât plan on going with them.â
âLeaving the Lightning Attraction Lock for him might prove useful.â
"This is..."
The moment Adrian Shaw took the Lightning Attraction Lock, he could tell it was no ordinary item.
He was immediately captivated by the item.
"And hereâs a map of the route back for you to use."
Nina Jacobs had hand-drawn a map, tracing the route displayed on her systemâs map.
âAs long as I say these things were looted from Magnus Yorkâs group, no one will be suspicious.â
"Speaking of which, those two Space Superpower Users from their group had a ton of supplies in their spatial pockets."
"All told, it was enough to stock three large supermarkets."
"What were they doing with all that stuff?"
Shirley Lucas felt her exhaustion melt away as she ate the bamboo-tube rice and stewed beast meat from the Bishop Clan members, washing it down with the chilled pear blossom wine Trevor had just provided.
"Maybe they were planning a long trip?"
Nina Jacobs knew their next destination was likely Keldorn; thatâs why they had been carrying so many supplies.
"Who cares? Itâs all ours now anyway."
Beckett Abbott chuckled.
âBetter for us to take the supplies back to the base than to let that shady, mysterious organization have them.â
"Then letâs have a toast to the success of our mission."
Adrian Shaw stood up and raised his glass.
They had the entire next day to rest, and seizing the rare opportunity, he was ready to drink with everyone all night long.
To make sure everyone had their fill, Shirley Lucas even took out the ice-cold beer that Beckett Abbott and the others had been craving for the entire journey.
And Adrian Shaw and Nina Jacobs also made a decision: they would let all of the several dozen rescue team members who came on this mission absorb a Mystic Ice Core.
These were already capable Superpower Users handpicked by the base. Throughout the journey, none had fallen behind, and they hadnât uttered a single complaint even when injured.
He believed they had earned it.
Besides the ones sheâd given to Shirley Lucas, Nina Jacobs had also personally harvested over a thousand Mystic Ice Cores on this trip to Mornfell.
Although they were useless to her now, she could still sell them.
And as for the price, that would be up to her to decide.
"Donât worry. When we get back to the base, Iâll help Summer figure out exactly how to handle these Ice Cores and cash them in."
Shirley Lucas was already getting tipsy.
She had also discussed it with Adrian Shaw; finding the Mystic Ice Cores this time was all thanks to Nina Jacobs.
Even though Nina Jacobs didnât ask for any, they couldnât just ignore the proper etiquette.
"Mhm. When I get back, Iâll collect it all at once."
Nina Jacobs had already asked the system. As long as the Crystal Cores were obtained through a transaction, she would receive System Experience.
"Wait, âwhen *you* get backâ? Arenât we going back together?"
Shirley Lucas asked in a daze.
Having not touched alcohol in a long time, the drinks hit her fast. By the time everyone else woke up, it was already late in the morning.
"What did you say? Nina Jacobs left ahead of us?!"
Everyone stared at Jessica Vance and asked in shock.
