Lin Feng faintly heard the sound of crying.

When Lin Feng woke up again, the sky had already become dim.

“Master, you’re awake…” Ziyuan said, delighted upon seeing Lin Feng.

Lin Feng nodded and said, “Ziyuan, help me up.”

Ziyuan nodded her head and helped Lin Feng up.

“What is this place?” Lin Feng asked.

“This is a desolate island,” Ziyuan said softly.

Lin Feng nodded; he and Ziyuan were indeed lucky to have ended up on a desolate island. He looked at Ziyuan somewhat puzzled and asked, “What about the Black Water Xuan Snake? Did it not eat us? How did we escape?”

Ziyuan also looked puzzled and said, “It seems like the Black Water Xuan Snake ran away, but I don’t know why it ran away.”

Lin Feng said, “Perhaps there are reasons we don’t know, but being able to survive the attack of the Black Water Xuan Snake is indeed a stroke of extreme luck.”

“Cough, cough, cough…” Just after uttering a few words, Lin Feng began to cough violently.

Ziyuan nodded and lay down in Lin Feng’s arms, falling asleep quickly.

Lin Feng looked out of the cave, and it was still night outside. The island was truly desolate; Lin Feng hadn’t even heard the sound of animal calls.

In the middle of the night, suddenly, a golden light soared into the sky from deep within the island and then vanished with a flash, leaving no trace.

“What was that?”

Lin Feng was startled, even thinking he might have seen wrong, but soon he knew he hadn’t made a mistake; it indeed was a golden light that had shot into the heavens and then disappeared.

“Deep in the island, there must be something astonishing.”

Lin Feng muttered to himself.

The next day, when Ziyuan woke up, Lin Feng went with her towards the deep parts of the island.

Lin Feng still thought about the golden light he saw the prior night, coming from the deepest part of the island.

The island was shrouded in thick fog, with visibility only around five to six meters. Releasing his Divine Sense, he could sense the scenery about twenty meters away. Lin Feng didn’t know if there was anything terrifying on the island, so he was extremely cautious.

When Lin Feng reached the deep part of the island, he found a stretch of ruins. It seemed as though many people had lived here in past years, but now, the place had completely fallen into desolation.

“Crack, crack…” Suddenly, the ground shook violently. Shortly after, the ground cracked open, and a pitch-black figure surged out. It was an extremely ugly entity, radiating evil and chilly aura, its peculiar eyes flickering with a spine-chilling light.
