"What?!" The people widened their eyes. Those who got knocked down and those who were supposed to stop Jay and Erwin couldnât help but widen their eyes.
Aileen placed her daggers on the two peopleâs eyes while saying in a cold tone. "Iâm warning you guys. No killing might be the rule, but no one is telling me that making you blind is a part of the rule."
The two people who were supposed to be in charge of completing the mission froze up.
"Tsk!" Jayâs opponent, one of the Three Swordsâ disciples, Eid, rushed toward Jay. The latter was a bit excited. He had been curious about fighting someone with a pseudo unique ability.
Jay and Eid waved their swords at the same time. Before Jay realized it, his instinct kicked in and caused him to throw himself to the right. The sword that was supposed to clash with his sword suddenly passed through his sword like a ghost and hit him on the side.
"!!!" Jay widened his eyes in surprise. What was actually happening? He was sure that he had blocked that sword, but for some reason, it didnât reach him.
Jay and Eid recovered fast and waved their swords at the same time. And it happened again. Eidâs sword passed Jayâs sword, forcing Joy to tilt his head back to avoid getting cut.
Jay clicked his tongue and swung his sword this time, thinking, âIf your sword is just going through mine, it means I can also attack you.â
Jay swung it in a way that even if the two swords passed each other, he could still slash him, but for some reason, Eidâs sword didnât pass him this time. Instead, it made solid contact with enough power to knock Jayâs sword away.
"I, too, am confident with my strength. You are nothing compared to your captain, arenât you?" Eid grinned.
"You bastard." Jay gritted his teeth.
On the other hand, Erwin was facing similar suppression.
His opponent, also a disciple of the Three Swords, Nart, swung his sword normally. Unlike Eid, Nartâs sword actually multiplied.
"!!!" Erwin widened his eyes, noticing that the sword became two as if it were an afterimage.
Erwin raised both palms to block them, but for some reason, the two blades actually slashed his palms. Fortunately, his gloves were made of a Tier 7 beastâs hide, so they managed to contain most of its power, leaving behind a shallow graze, but when Nart attacked him and split his sword into two again, Erwin instinctively jumped away. He didnât know whether he could stop this attack or not.
Vina raised her eyebrows. "Jay, Erwin!"
"That woman is surprising, but this is the end. In the end, the right-hand and the left-hand men of the famous Clovis Hacfield are nothing but ordinary people." Stefany grinned, mocking Vina.
"Christina!" Vina turned to Christina, asking for her help. As long as she chased them now, she could turn around the situation.
Christina chuckled and waved her hand. "Calm down. Thereâs no need for any of us to go there."
As she said those words, Jay swung his sword one more time.
"Itâs useless. You wonât be able to trace my sword." Eid harrumphed.
However, Jayâs swing speed increased drastically midway, causing the two swords to clash. More importantly, with the sudden increase in momentum, Jay actually launched Eid away with overwhelming strength. His sword even grazed Eidâs chest for failing to withstand Jayâs full power.
*Bam!*
The smile on Eidâs face disappeared. Eid didnât expect he would receive an attack like this.
"I donât care about your narcissistic behavior. You can talk down as much as you like, but I might end up cutting that tongue of yours in the end." Jay glared at him coldly.
That swing was different from anything Jay had shown so far. Normally, Jayâs swing would mostly contain his strength, but that attack contained a lot of momentum. That was right. That single strike was similar to Clovisâ blade instead of Jayâs.
For the past one and a half years, Jay had been honing his primary and secondary affinities. His primary affinity was definitely his muscle, but he was able to harness the power of his secondary affinity, allowing him to have full control of his swing speed.
Focusing on speed or strength or both or even lacking all of them... Jay could create multiple types of swings depending on how he harnessed the two affinities.
"Arenât you a bit too weak for a Tier 6 human with a pseudo unique ability?" Jay smirked.
"You bastard." It was Eidâs turn to get pissed off. How dare a mere normal person, who not only was one tier lower than him but also didnât have a pseudo unique ability, look down on him?
On the other hand, Erwin still saw the two incoming blades.
Instead of facing it head-on, Erwin actually waved his fingers around as if he was making a knot with a much thinner thread, making it harder for Nart to see.
Nart didnât know what Erwin planned to do, but the moment the slash was connected, Erwin suddenly spread his arms to the side, pulling the thread.
Nartâs swords suddenly moved closer to each other as if Erwin pulled the knot between the two swords and joined them together.
"What?!" Nart widened his eyes in shock.
With the swords joining together, Erwin stopped its momentum completely. Then, he snapped the thread on the right hand and punched Nart in the face. His affinity was muscle after all, so that punch knocked him to the other rooftop.
"Your swords might be fancy, but your face shows it all." Erwin grinned before shouting, "Donât mind us here, my love. Continue forward and complete the mission."
"!!!" Nart and Eid obviously heard it. They almost forgot about one person, Aileen. Aileen had erased herself, thinking about helping them.
But after seeing how Erwin and Jay managed to hold on by themselves, Aileen immediately turned around and continued.
"Not good! Hurry up and catch her!" Stefany panicked.
Nart and Eid hurriedly chased after her, but Jay and Erwin stood in their way, stopping them in their path.
"Youâre not getting anywhere." Jay and Erwin smirked.
