Sea Rock Island, the dilapidated underground rail station of the university city, dodged an eerie Infinity that emerged slowly from the tunnel. Chen Sixuan opened the car door, only to discover that the freight station where they fought yesterday and the surrounding dilapidated streets had almost turned into ruins.
Looking around, the city seemed to have shrunk slightly, with many tall buildings tilted, and even the roads were almost completely blocked.
Ugh!
The sky was overcast with clouds, and although it was morning, strange cries and the crashing sounds of metal and buildings collapsing in the distance made the once-dead city lively.
Qian Deli got off the car, looking around cautiously.
"No one can stay here; Iâm afraid the Abnormal Bodies will fill the city before nightfall today."
"Whereâs Captain Lin?" Shu Qin, carrying a mechanical cannon, walked out. Wearing battle armor, Shu Qin now looked completely different from the hunting style of the previous big-footed convoy, resembling a mechanical female warrior. Her body technique had improved significantly, as had Lv Changâs mobility.
However, the downside of the Genetic Evolvers lies in their lack of effective combat means against large-sized Abnormal Bodies. Last night, Shu Qin, Lv Chang, and Chen Sixuan discussed Vanessaâs kind of Dark Power released after breaking through the physical limits post-Crystal Lattice as it was seen as a way to enhance large-scale combat skills.
"He should be on his way." Chen Sixuan looked towards the sky as several fire lines streaked across the dome, followed by the sound of sonic booms, and Lin Xianâs group landed immediately.
"Howâs it going?"
"Big trouble." Lin Xian opened the Power Armor Mask, looking serious: "At least we know what the trouble is."
"Thereâs a reason why this island is so desolate that even zombies are unseen."
KIKI sighed and said, "No wonder thereâs little news from the train group heading to the ocean orbit; the sea around here has been made a feeding ground for world-class creatures."
"A feeding ground?"
Lin Xian nodded and briefly synchronized the situation with the team. Upon learning about the urgent situation, everyoneâs face was shadowed.
After communicating with Ryan, Lin Xian looked at the countdown before him, speculating whether the countdown was related to the Galan Volcano or Uniga 1, but he couldnât be sure as the situation at the South Heavenly Gate might also relate to the Taboo Item he possessed...
"So are we going to look for a shelter within the Sea Rock Island area if the energy venting fails?" Chen Sixuan asked at this moment.
Lin Xian looked at everyone and said sternly, "Actually, rather than taking refuge on the island, Iâd prefer to fly away from Sea Rock Island directly."
"I think so too." Qian Deli nodded immediately upon hearing this: "It seems to me that hiding on the island is the last resort and should only be used if absolutely necessary."
Monica frowned slightly, crossing her arms, and said, "What about the Hawk Sea Group?"
"One of their teams has already moved to the Southeast Sea Area. Once I connect the signal with the Offshore Base, Iâll prepare to operate at sea." Lin Xian responded.
"Start directly?" Chen Sixuan asked.
"Letâs scout first." KIKI said, "See if it works."
"If it works, it might buy us more time," Ning Jing added.
Lin Xian glanced at everyone, "Whereâs Director Ding?"
"Here."
From the back of the crowd, Ding Junyi stepped off the car quickly, maintaining a calm demeanor as she spoke to Lin Xian: "Iâve roughly calculated the data you sent me, but Iâm not familiar with geological research, so I can only calculate based on the energy model. The preliminary conclusion is that even if the Galan Volcano erupts at the historically recorded maximum scale, it wouldnât cause significant damage to the terrain of Sea Rock Island. At a 10-magnitude earthquake, we can withstand it. The biggest threat is still the tsunami and... those monsters."
A natural disaster combined with the eerie; it was a scenario that Lin Xian had never encountered before. Actually, for Lin Xian, equipped with Interstellar-Level Power Armor and the Infinity and the Sky Dome ships, tsunamis, storms, and earthquakes were entirely manageable. However, if these natural disasters were coupled with those giant Abnormal Bodies and the Giant Ocean Godâs hunting, it would be a hellish scene. With storms ahead, losing the cover of the night and breaking dawn, this Sea Rock Island seemed like the center of a storm vortex. Just thinking about it was terrifying.
Itâs why Lin Xian pondered deeply; even though Ryan mentioned the dangers of the sky, Lin Xianâs character wouldnât allow him to just sit and wait when breaking through seemed like a stronger option. The Genesis-devastating scene of the Giant Ocean God from yesterdayâs storm made him cautious, so he opted for the lesser strategy to implement the energy venting plan first before assessing the situation.
"Then letâs take action."
Lin Xian immediately directed everyone: "Sister Ning, Monica, Qian Deli, you three teams are responsible for investigating airforce bases and bunker facilities on several islands. See which place is suitable as a temporary refuge. This underground railway is definitely out. Teacher Chen, Infinity is temporarily stationed in place to handle information relay, waiting for my arrangement."
"How do you plan to arrange it?" Chen Sixuan asked.
Lin Xian said, "I will head east first. The drone fleet hasnât contacted Viola yet, so once we figure out the situation at the energy vent, weâll make a decision. If we can handle it, perhaps we can directly move Infinity to the submarine base."
Chen Sixuan nodded, "Understood."
"Ah, Brother Lin, are you going to the sea?" Sha Sha asked at this time.
Lin Xian replied, "Yes, there might be a Special Level down there; Iâll see how it goes first."
"Alright, weâll get moving too." So, Ning Jing, Monica, and Qian Deli immediately led their teams to disperse into action. With no short supply of Abnormal Bodies in the outer areas, their dispatch couldnât avoid combat; everyone was fully armed.
Lin Xian also set out immediately, taking KIKI and Shi Zhi directly towards the direction of the East Coast.
"Lin Xian, Viola hasnât returned for so long; could something have happened? Logically, an Intelligent Brain robot shouldnât be targeted by the Abnormal Bodies, right?"
On the flight, KIKI asked Lin Xian.
"The relay drones have been searching towards Violaâs flight path. Iâm now worried that perhaps yesterdayâs storm from the Giant Ocean God affected something. Otherwise, the Star Orbital couldnât have fractured by such a long distance."
With anxiety in his heart, Lin Xian realized Viola was his vital computing center, as well as his drone control core. Losing Viola would be an enormous loss for him, and with Grace far above the South Heavenly Gate, he couldnât possibly summon her back. Just thinking about it gave him a headache.
Swish!
The gloomy clouds pressed down on the sea, and the lead-gray sky merged with the ink-blue seawater at the horizon into a line of chaos. Lin Xianâs battle armor tore through the humid air, the propeller beneath trailing a pale water streak atop the waves, with KIKI and Shi Zhi flanking both sides. The trio charged southward along the East Coast of Sea Rock Island, steel exoskeletons collecting salty water droplets on their surfaces.
As the coordinates approached the East Coast Undersea Cliff Area of Chasan Island, the radar suddenly shrieked, and Lin Xian saw one of Ryanâs transport ships parked by the islandâs shore. Thus, the three approached from above the sea, but before reaching it, Lin Xian abruptly halted midair, seeing the seabed by the cliff edge break open suddenly, sunlight piercing through the water to reveal an Abyss Giant Mouth over a thousand meters in diameter. The vortex center was dark blue, with the edgeâs curling white foam resembling fangs. Though the surface seemed calm, beneath lay a giant beast lurking to devour light, rotating slowly against fluid dynamics, exactly the "unnatural creation" in Ericaâs aerial photograph!
"God, whatâs below this?"
Lin Xian squinted his eyes: "Not sure, but it definitely isnât just a seabed vortex."
"Going down there is... too dangerous, right?" KIKI said.
Lin Xian shook his head, eyeing Ryanâs side, "No need for now; with the coordinates, Iâll send in the robots first. There must be maintenance tunnels in areas like this."
"Hmm." KIKI nodded.
As Lin Xian and KIKI prepared to descend, the sea below suddenly surged violently, and Lin Xian instinctively grew wary. Unexpectedly, as the warning radar sounded frantically, KIKIâs voice abruptly rose.
"Lin Xian, in the sky!!"
