Chapter 586: The Japanese Iron Trio
The blond vampire youth scowled deeply as he watched the scene unfold. The massive tsunami had just slammed into the coastâand the ones who took the worst hit were his own Vampire Horde.
The towering waves crashed down like a godâs wrath, swallowing the zombie horde like ants under a flood. Some were crushed outright by falling debris and chunks of collapsed buildings, their bodies shattered into pulp.
âDamn, thatâs satisfyingâŠâ
Mia muttered under her breath. Watching the destruction unfold gave her a weird sense of relief, like a pressure valve had just been released.
The blond vampireâs fury boiled over. His jaw clenched, fangs bared in rage.
âI want to see what the hell just showed up!â
Meanwhile, Chris and the others were farther inland, so by the time the water reached them, the force had weakened.
âUpstairs! Now!â Brandon shouted.
Without hesitation, the group leapt up to the higher floors of a nearby building. The flood surged through the streets below, sweeping away more of the undead. The immediate threat had been bluntedâat least for now.
âHoly crap, that was awesome!â
âEven the heavens are on our side!â
âYeah, but⊠what the hell is in that ocean?â
ââŠâ
No one dared to relax. Eyes locked on the coastline, they watched in tense silence.
The wave receded, but not before drowning half the city. And then, from the distant sea, a massive shadow began to rise beneath the surface. The water bulged upward, waves rippling outward in all directions.
Moments later, a colossal beast broke through the surfaceâa mutated blue whale, easily the size of a small island. Just the part above water stretched over 300 feet.
And standing on its head⊠was a figure.
A fusion-type Zombie King.
From the look of its skin, it had merged with a marine iguanaâits body built for the water, sleek and deadly.
The Zombie King towered over ten feet tall, its body like living stone, jagged and armored. Its mouth bristled with fangs, and its glowing yellow eyes burned with savage intensity.
This thing wasnât weak. At the very least, it was S-class.
As it rose from the sea, the Zombie King scanned the ruined city with a mix of curiosity and confusion, like it was searching for somethingâor someone.
âIs this⊠an overseas Zombie King invasion?â Mia wondered aloud. But something about this one didnât quite fitâŠ
The blond vampireâs rage flared again. This bastard had just wiped out half his forces.
âWho the hell are you? Why are you here screwing things up?â
âScrewing things up?â
The Zombie King turned its yellow eyes toward him, full of disdain.
âI am the ruler of Japan. Call me⊠T-Rex.â
âT-RexâŠ?â
The blond vampire blinked, caught off guard. These guys had clearly crossed the ocean from Japan.
T-Rex continued, voice booming:
âIâm here looking for our boss. You know where he is?â
âOh, you wonât have to look for long,â the vampire sneered. âBecause pretty soon, your boss is gonna die right here in Canada.â
Heâd already figured it outâT-Rex was one of the American Zombie Overlordâs subordinates. That made him an enemy.
T-Rexâs eyes narrowed, his killing intent thick in the air.
âYou dare talk about our boss like that? Youâve got a death wish.â
âHmph. A zombie from Japan? What kind of threat do you think you are?â the vampire scoffed, arrogance dripping from every word.
Sure, T-Rex looked tough, and yeah, he had a sea monster under his feetâbut that thing clearly couldnât come ashore. It wasnât built for combat on land.
With the Vampire Horde he still had left, he figured he could handle this.
Once Lady Scarlet Moon finished taking over Los Angeles, theyâd bring the full force of their army and crush this bastard.
At that moment, Mia finally pieced it together. The Zombie King standing before them clearly had some connection to Ethan. Probably one of the undead minions Ethan picked up while wandering around who-knows-where.
âI know where your boss is,â she said, eyes narrowing. âAnd those Mutant Vampire Zombies? Theyâre the ones invading his territory.â
âInvaders?â
T-Rexâs eyes sharpened, and the raw aggression heâd been radiating instantly morphed into a murderous fury. He hadnât even been on land for five minutes and already he was hearing that his bossâs turf had been violated?
Unacceptable.
âBrothersâwipe them out!â
âROOOAAARRRâ!â
At his command, a thunderous roar echoed from the depths of the ocean. The sea began to churn violently, bubbles rising like the water was boiling.
Then, one by one, pale, grotesque zombie heads started surfacing. In seconds, the water was swarming with themâso many that they formed a solid mass stretching to the horizon.
These werenât ordinary zombies either. Their limbs were webbed like duck feet, clearly adapted to life underwater. They were Aqua Zombiesâundead that had evolved for aquatic combat after spending who knows how long submerged.
The horde let out a chorus of guttural screeches as they surged onto the shore, like demons clawing their way out of hell.
âThereâs that many of them?!â
The blond vampire youthâs face twisted in shock. He hadnât realized T-Rexâs horde had been hiding beneath the waves this whole time.
And the numbers⊠tens of thousands, maybe even over a hundred thousand.
But that wasnât even the end of it.
The massive mutated whale beneath T-Rexâalready the size of a small islandâslowly opened its abyss-like jaws.
Inside its mouth? Even more zombies. Packed in tight, shoulder to shoulder. And at the front of the pack were two more Zombie Kings.
The first was encased in jagged white bone armor, a long, razor-sharp bone blade extending from one arm. This was Mad Dogâthe most powerful skeletal mutation-type Zombie King.
The second was a womanâtall, lean, and athletic, with powerful, toned legs. Clearly an agility-type Zombie King.
She was Samara, one of Ethanâs lieutenants from his time in Japan.
Together, Samara, T-Rex, and Mad Dog were known as the Japanese Iron Trio. Theyâd fought their way across Japan, wiping out every rival Zombie King until they stood alone at the top.
Now, theyâd crossed the ocean to fulfill a promiseâand to find Ethan.
âItâs been too long, boss,â Mad Dog said, his voice low and gravelly. âWeâve missed you.â
Samaraâs eyes gleamed with excitement as she scanned the battlefield. âLetâs take out these bastards who dared invade our bossâs turf. Then weâll go find him.â
âHell yeah.â
Mad Dog didnât wait. Clad in his heavy bone armor, he charged toward the shore like a tank.
Samara was even faster. Her powerful legs kicked into motion, and she blurred forward, leaving afterimages in her wakeâtoo fast for the naked eye to follow.
Behind them, the rest of the horde poured out of the whaleâs mouth like a swarm of ants from a nest. The sheer number of them was staggering.
And the whaleâs mouth? It was like a bottomless pitâzombies just kept coming.
The entire coastline was now buried under a sea of undead. Aqua Zombies mixed with regular ones, their numbers easily surpassing a hundred thousand.
The sight was absolutely overwhelming.
The blond vampire youth stood frozen, stunned speechless. Heâd thought T-Rex was alone. He never imagined theyâd brought the entire damn undead army of Japan with them.
Even Chris and the other humans were wide-eyed in awe.
âHoly shit! Thatâs a lot of zombies!â
âTalk about perfect timingâthey just saved our asses!â
âHell yeah! Wipe those bloodsuckers out!â
âI knew it! I, Chris, am blessed by the heavens! No way Iâm dying today!â
ââŠâ
Now it was the blond vampireâs turn to panic. Compared to this tidal wave of undead, his remaining forces were a joke. Not even in the same league.
They were about to be swallowed whole by the zombie apocalypse.
