Having packed up, Su Shu and Tang Zelin headed down the mountain. Zelin went to the military base to get a vehicle first. He picked up Su Shu, and then called on the guard Guozi to load several large boxes of supplies for the 209th Regiment as they rushed to the 209th Regiment’s safe zone in the moonlight with his wife.

Standing at the gate of the camp, Guozi watched the departing vehicle, then turned on his heel and dashed back to Qu Guo’an’s house.

Qu Guo’an was in the middle of a good dream when the loud shout startled him awake. He opened his eyes to see Guozi and couldn’t help but scold, “You little rabbit, what are you howling for in the middle of the night! I thought something happened to me; you scared me to death.”

Guozi pushed the door open and crept in, sneakily snitching, “Political Commissar, something really has happened!”

“What happened?” Qu Guo’an was about to put on his shoes, but Guozi stopped him, “It’s not about the troops; it’s about the group captain.”

“Old Tang?”

Guozi nodded vigorously.

“What’s happened to the group captain?”

“Political Commissar, tell me, why would the group captain not be cuddling with his wife on the mountain tonight, and instead be taking stuff to the 209th Regiment?”

“Are you saying Old Tang took Su Shu to the 209th Regiment?”

“Ah! Exactly, they just left. I’ve just finished moving stuff for the group captain.”

Qu Guo’an cursed, “When your group captain came back, why didn’t you notify me!”

Guozi pursed his lips, “When the group captain arrived, he heard you were asleep and didn’t want to disturb you. Now that he’s gone, if you want to see him, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow, I guess.”

Qu Guo’an became fully awake and decided not to sleep anymore. He put on his shoes, got up and had a few sips of water, “He brought supplies to the 209th Regiment?”

“A few boxes worth.”

After Guozi left, Qu Guo’an racked his brains but couldn’t figure out why Old Tang would take his wife to the 209th Regiment.

Unable to figure it out, he simply gave up trying. Since he was awake, he decided to get some work done instead.

Su Shu had no idea what Tang Zelin said to the group captain of the 209th Regiment, but after unloading the materials from the vehicle, Zelin led her by the hand along a mountain path within the 209th Regiment’s territory.

There was a hot spring at the junction of the two regiments. Passing by it, Su Shu exclaimed in surprise.

Zelin smiled faintly and continued to lead her further in. After a while, they came across a small hidden hot spring nestled beneath the canopy of trees and rocks.

The warm steam rose gently under the moonlight, creating a hazy and beautiful scene.

Zelin kept it simple, stripped off his top half, and wore just his trunks as he dipped into the hot spring.

Half-submerged in the water, he smiled and waved to Su Shu, “Come.”

She looked around and said, “Wait for me.”

Behind a large tree, and after looking through her backpack, she mused that wearing a T-shirt to a hot spring didn’t seem quite right…

Looking up at a certain someone already stretching out his arms and lying by the edge of the pool enjoying the moment, Su Shu squinted her eyes, and in a flash, entered the “space.”

In the space, the moon shone brightly, and the air was damp.

The Little Snake King, coiled up on the peach tree and asleep, suddenly sensed Su Shu’s presence and surprisingly lifted his head and opened his eyes.

Below the peach tree, he saw a figure dash into the storeroom in a blur.
