“Not at all, I’m still young. It’s actually Old Tang who always indulges me.” Su Shu smiled playfully and turned back to look at Tang Zelin shyly, softly asking, “Isn’t that right?”

Tang Zelin turned his head, glanced at Xu Ye across from him, and then his gaze fell on his wife’s face, his eyes seemed to comprehend something as the corner of his lips curled up.

“Of course, how could I, a grown man, stoop to quarreling with a little girl like you?”

The understanding and relaxed dialogue between the two made everyone around them laugh, but Xu Ye couldn’t join in the mirth, a faint sense of loss crossing her eyes.

But she was always strong and never easily let her emotions show.

Xu Ye poured two cups of alcohol, holding one for herself and offering one to Su Shu.

Tang Zelin instinctively tried to intercept it but was dodged by Xu Ye.

“Captain Tang, on behalf of the Fire Phoenix team members, I want to toast our sister-in-law to thank her for preparing these delicious meals for us. You wouldn’t want to compete with women over a drink, would you?”

With one sentence, she pushed Tang Zelin out of the picture.

Indeed, you could block drinks for your wife from other men, but could you really take ones meant for women as well? How would that look on you?

Su Shu found Xu Ye’s behavior a bit childish, but she could understand it; when you have feelings for someone, you probably always look for a way to show that you’re better than the other person’s partner in some aspect.
