After killing all three mid-rank B demons, Daniel naturally received Exp. But that wasnât all:
[ You have reached the maximum amount of Exp you can receive. ]
[ You cannot receive any Exp until you reach Rank B. ]
He had met one requirement for Rank B: the required Exp amount.
Now only the second requirement remainedâbreaking the dimensional barrier. Awakened beings below Rank B and above Rank B (and Rank B itself) come from different dimensions. To reach Rank B, you need both the Exp and to break through that barrier.
How? Daniel didnât know. Heâd only heard it happened in life-or-death battles.
Right now, his only opportunity was to fight the Noble Demonâmaybe that would break the barrier.
He then took three drops of his blood and let each drop fall on one of the mid-rank B demons.
[ Creating three new Fallen... ]
[ New Fallen successfully created. ]
Suddenly, a light appeared from the sky, enveloping each corpse. Soon it faded, revealing their new forms.
Their skin was cosmic black with purple veins. All three had wingsânot simple wings, but six leonine angel wings, all dark-colored.
[ Please name your new Fallen. " ]
"Daimon, Baldazor, and Lias," Daniel didnât overthink itâhe used their original names.
[ Naming completed successfully. ]
[ You have gained ten percent of your new Fallenâs stats. ]
[ You can choose one of their skills or receive ten percent of their Exp. ]
Daniel nodded and closed the panel for nowâhe was still in the middle of a war. Checking skills in this moment would be incredibly stupid and dangerousâand besides, he had more important tasks.
"Greetings, Lord." His new Fallen bowed on one knee.
"Stand up and tell meâyou were ordered to attack the Holy City with your army?" he asked.
"Lord, we are the army under the command of a Noble Demon. We were ordered to attack this place," Lias replied.
âSo actually, theyâre not part of the greater Demon realmâjust the personal army of the Noble Demon,â Daniel thought.
Heâd expected a higher-rank demon sent the army to destroy the Holy City. Even the Noble Demon might have led that planâbut apparently not.
"Why did the Noble Demon want to attack here?"
"Lord, our former leader, the Noble Demon, wanted to be promoted to Demon Duke. To do so, he needs the blood of an Ancient Demonâsomething only the Demon Royal Family possesses," Daimon answered.
"Their royal bloodline can be upgraded... I see. So who is the leader? Where is he?" Daniel whispered to himself, then asked.
He hadnât expected the demon bloodline to be upgradableâbut that was good news. He had plans for demon bloodlines and was looking for a way to obtain their traits.
With that surprising discovery, he got new ideas about what to do nextâbut that was for later.
"Well, our ex-leader... is the one you call Paragon Velmiran," Lias paused before answering.
"So itâs him," Daniel grimaced. Heâd expected one of the three Paragons; Abraham had been his biggest suspect.
Even so, he felt a flash of anger: one of the Paragonsâone of the highest-ranking members of the Eternity Faithâwas actually a spy and an enemy.
He couldnât understand why the Prophet hadnât done anything. He didnât for a moment believe the Prophet didnât know.
"Well, not always. Our former leader killed the real Paragon and claimed his body. As far as we know, that middle-aged Paragonâwhat was his name?âis actually another of the armyâs generals under our former leader."
Daniel wanted to cryâbut no tears came. Two of the Paragons were enemies?
What a ridiculous joke.
âNow I understand how Eternity Faith was destroyed. Two of the Paragons were actually enemiesâno wonder the faith was doomed,â he sighed.
Spies and enemies within the highest ranks of any organization are deadly weapons.
Daniel ordered them to assist his other Fallen and turned his attention back to the battlefield.
Everyone saw that heâd killed the three generals. The demonsâ morale was brokenâand they were being slaughtered.
Moreover, the Eternity Faith army had learned to fight as groups rather than trying to kill demons one-on-one.
Now they attacked in groups of ten to twenty, and with that strategy, not only were their own casualties reduced, but the enemy losses soared.
"Ugh... what a good source of Exp," he thought. If he could still gain Exp, he would have collected at least ten thousand by now.
He then looked at Evangelin, who had transformed into a bloody, domineering Empress on the battlefieldâ
The terrified demons tried to flee, but to no avail. Instead, the Saint hunted them one by one and killed them.
Her expression was cold and seriousâDaniel was amazed. He had to admit this girl was the strongest genius heâd ever seenâexcept for himself, of course.
Next, his attention returned to Velmiranâthe Noble Demon.
He rose from the ground and flew toward Velmiran. As soon as he hovered nearby, a terrifying aura of death radiated from him, sealing off a large area.
He didnât want anyone else interfering in their battle.
"Whatâs the matter, little leader? You look angry," Velmiran smirked.
"I recently became the leader of a religion and found out the highest-ranking officials in the religion are traitors and enemies. Donât you think I have reason to be angry?"
"So you figured it out? Not like I was planning to hide it anymore," Velmiran laughed, and suddenly his clothesâand his entire bodyâburst into flames.
Within moments, everything burned away, revealing his true form: a demon about two meters tall, humanoid in appearance but with completely red skin and pitch-black eyes.
No horns, no tail, no wingsâhe looked entirely human aside from the color of his skin.
In addition, his aura surged and climbed to half a step from Rank A. (Half-Step A Rank)
"Iâve got to hand it to youâhiding your identity all these years isnât something just anyone can pull off," Daniel clapped for him.
"Thanks. It really wasnât easy... Still, all I had to do was hide from one Paragon and that stupid Saintess. The rest of the followers werenât a problem."
"As for the Prophet..."
