"What do you mean weâre under attack?" the host frowned and released his spiritual senses to scan the entire palace.
But what he saw shocked and confused himâcreatures he had never seen before in his entire life were invading.
Strange beasts with glowing black and purple skin and bizarre faces.
"Corruption Beasts? But Iâve never seen any Corruption Beast like this before..." the host, whose name was Velkan, thought to himself.
Then he turned and looked at Rynor, who also seemed confused. It was clear he wasnât involved in this attack either.
"Weâll talk later, Mr. Rynor. Right now, I have something else to deal with," he said with a smile and immediately ordered all the bandits to be on high alert and eliminate the intruders.
Rynor simply nodded and got ready to leave. He had no intention of getting involved in whatever this situation wasâregarding the weapon... he would return for it later.
Seeing Velkan leave the palace hall, he let out a sigh and looked up. The ceiling was made entirely of glass, and escaping through it would be easy.
He looked toward the entrance of the palace once more to make sure the host had really left, and once he was certain, he took off into the air, aiming for the glass above.
However, suddenly a deep and powerful aura isolated the palace and slammed him into the ground just as he was about to break through the ceiling.
"Damn it! Which bastard did that?!" he growled as he quickly stood back up.
Not a single scratch had been left on his body.
"Nice to meet you again, Mr. Goat," a beautiful feminine voice echoed.
Rynor frowned when he heard the voice. It sounded both familiar and unfamiliar at the same timeâhe felt like he had heard it somewhere, but couldnât remember where.
Suddenly, the very windows he had been trying to escape through shattered, and two figures entered the palace hall, their eyes locked on him.
"Who are you two?" Rynor raised his bow again and aimed it at them. For some reason, his instincts were screaming that these two were dangerous.
"You donât recognize us? Iâm Lady Rabbit. And he... well, heâs my bodyguard," Serys said with a smirk on her face.
"Lady Rabbit? So youâre that whore," Rynorâs eyes trembled slightly with cold furyâhe hadnât forgotten how much damage he had suffered because of her.
"Weâre here to take that weapon back. Give it to us, and weâll let you live."
"Hmph! Foolish. You think Iâll just hand it over? I paid fifteen Chaos Crystals for it," Rynor growled.
"The weaponâs not with himâitâs still with the bandits," Daniel said at that moment. Elarion had just told him through the mental link.
"Then heâs useless. What should we do? Go after the bandits and ignore this guy?" Serys asked.
Daniel didnât respond immediately and instead quickly analyzed the situation in his mind. At that moment, Elarion once again spoke to him mentally and told him the reason this man had come to the human continent.
"He has to die," a cold glint flickered in Danielâs eyes, even confusing Serys.
Wasnât this the same calm and indifferent boy just a moment ago? What suddenly made him so angry?
Still, she could clearly see the coldness in Danielâs gaze and didnât want to argue with him while he was like this.
"Arenât the bandits going to escape?" That was her only concern. She was afraid theyâd get away with the weapon.
But clearly, that wasnât one of Danielâs worries. He was certain none of the bandits could escape.
"If you want, go after the bandits. My forces are already engaging them. With your help, it should be easier to take them downâbut make sure you donât kill them," he said while looking at her.
"What about you? Donât you need help?" Serys asked with slight hesitation. Even though this bowman looked ordinary, she genuinely felt a sense of danger from him.
"Donât worry," Daniel said indifferently. In truth, he had come up with a new plan, and it required her to leave this place.
Serys didnât waste any more time and left the palace. Of course, he also sent Elarion with her to assist. With his Fallen, it shouldnât be hard to hold the bandits off.
Once he was done here, heâd join them to help.
"Now itâs just the two of us, Mr. Elf. May I know your name?" Daniel asked Rynor with a smile.
The question made Rynor feel a chill again. Even this human had figured out his identity? Since when had discovering peopleâs true identities become so easy? Or was the item he used actually fake?
"Iâm Rynor, one of the seventy-two generals of the great Elven civilization," he didnât try to hide anything and openly stated his identity.
"Pleasure to meet you. Iâm Daniel."
"Is this fight really necessary? I can just let go of that weapon," Rynor sighed and asked.
He would rather avoid conflict if possible. If things got too loud, other humans would definitely noticeâand that could be dangerous.
"If we met under different circumstances, I wouldnât mind having tea and becoming friends. But youâre here to capture my friend. Naturally, I have to stop you," Daniel said with the same calm demeanor.
"Your friend? Wait... donât tell me..." a flash of realization crossed Rynorâs eyes, followed by a cold glint.
"If thatâs the case, then maybe you can help me capture her."
"If you can beat me," Daniel laughed and summoned his sword, The Heavenâs Honor.
In truth, the elf standing before him wasnât weakâhe was at the peak of A-rank. More importantly, the bow in his hand was an extremely powerful item, one that could cause serious trouble.
Even so, it still wasnât enough to overpower Daniel.
"Hmph, youâre just a human. Let me show you the power of a General."
The battle began with the sound of Rynorâs bow. He unleashed the [Moonwoven Arrows].
Silvery arrows, like radiant meteors, burst from the Sunlight Bow, each trailing a halo of moonlight that cracked the crystals of the hall.
The arrows shot toward Daniel at blinding speed, as if the moon itself guided them.
"Moon Law? I didnât expect you to know Moon Law, but I suppose it makes senseâit is a part of nature, after all. Still, using it against me is just plain foolish."
Using the [Gravitational Aspect of Moon Law], Daniel lightened the gravity around himself and leapt high, dodging the arrows like a shadow bathed in moonlight. He countered with [Strike of Destruction].
Heavens Honor gleamed with an aura of black and white destruction, as if death and light had fused within its blade.
The slash struck the ground with immense force, shaking the hall with a wave of deathly energy that cracked the crystal floor and sent Rynor flying back.
Rynor slammed into the wall with a loud groan, a shallow wound appearing on his arm. He defended himself with the [Shield of Eternal Leaves].
Shimmering silver and green leaves spun around him, like the dance of an ancient forest, pushing back the wave of deathly energy. But a few leaves shattered and rained to the floor.
"Nice arrows, General! But you might want to work on your aim," Daniel said with a laugh.
