Watching Chiang Qing mumbling to herself as she hugged her legs, Jiang Dafang grew impatient, stood up, and said, "If youâve thought of anything, you might as well tell me."
Chiang Qing said nothing.
Jiang Dafang turned and walked away.
As the door closed, Chiang Qing slowly released her hold and glared at the door, her brows gradually furrowing.
Jiang Dafang was here to extract information from her. Why? What did he want to know, or what did he intend to do? Was it still to deal with the Loo Family? The Loo Family was already in such a state, and the Chiang Family wasnât doing much better.
Bargaining chip...
Chiang Qing cradled her head. Old Master Looâs hidden moves?
Was there such a thing? Chiang Qing didnât know; she didnât remember anything!
The door was pushed open, and when Chiang Qing saw the person who entered, her expression changed again. She couldnât stay here any longer, or someday she would completely lose her mind, go insane.
Chiang Qing did not resist, watching as the injection was slowly administered into her body, then she took the medicine handed to her and swallowed it all at once, receiving words of praise.
But as soon as the doctors and nurses turned around, she immediately spat out the medicine, holding it in her hand.
Once they were gone, she went into the bathroom, threw the medicine into the toilet, and gagged herself, trying to purge every last drop of the medication.
She could purge the medicine she swallowed, but what about the liquid injected into her body? Wasnât it just eating away at her body day by day?
"Ah, ah ah," Chiang Qing knelt in the bathroom, screaming madly.
Jiang Dafang waited for Ning Ge at their usual spot.
Ning Ge hurried over, ordered a pot of green tea as usual, and then said, "Itâs snowing again outside, the road was a bit blocked, sorry."
"Hmm!"
Jiang Dafang wasnât in high spirits, so Ning Ge asked, "Whatâs the matter? Did you find out anything?"
Jiang Dafangâs visits to Chiang Qing, trying to extract information, were naturally due to Ning Geâs arrangement and instructions.
"No, she seemed to know nothing and said nothing," Jiang Dafang said. "I reckon with Old Master Looâs temperament, even if he left some hidden moves, he wouldnât pass them to Chiang Qing, would he? Raised so protectively, what could she understand?"
"Donât you know the least likely is often the most possible?" Ning Ge smiled dismissively at his words. "Many things appear least likely, but they are often the most possible. Because human nature is such, going against expectations."
Jiang Dafang frowned, saying, "She didnât say anything, so she probably doesnât know either."
"Alright then!"
Jiang Dafang hesitated for a moment and asked, "Just keep her locked up in there?"
Ning Ge squinted his eyes, "What, do you feel sorry for your half-sister?"
Jiang Dafang seemed a bit embarrassed, saying, "Not really, itâs just that everything seems settled now, even if sheâs out, she canât make any waves, right?"
"Youâre underestimating a woman," Ning Ge shook his head and said, "Jiang Dafang, never be deceived by appearances, or youâll lose badly and even deeply regret it. Chiang Qing, sheâs far more capable of acting than you imagine, and when you least expect it, sheâll give you a hard bite."
Jiang Dafang frowned and said, "Thatâs only if she has backing, but now itâs all gone."
He thought Ning Ge was overreacting, too cautious; no matter how fierce, without reliable backing, how fierce could she be?
"A woman, especially a beautiful woman, as long as sheâs willing to go all out, finding another strong ally, whatâs so difficult?" Ning Ge laughed softly, glanced out the window casually, his gaze slightly focusing, then stood up and said, "Thatâs it for today, letâs talk again later!" and hurried off.
Jiang Dafang sat there until the New Yearâs bell tolled before he left. Another year had passed.
