Chapter 1055: Registrating for Hobby Classes
Of course, in this new era, girls didnât necessarily have to learn martial arts. It all depended on Su Leâs talent and interestâthere was no need to force it. Gu Zi firmly believed in raising a child with both strength and wisdom. Martial arts could protect her, but so could intelligence.
Su Shen listened to Gu Ziâs thoughts and nodded in agreement. She really did consider everything when it came to their childâs future.
However, when it came to finding someone to teach Lele martial arts, he found himself in a bit of a dilemma. âIâve never trained a little girl before,â he admitted. âMaybe we should hire a female martial arts instructor?â
It had been no problem when Gu Zi asked him to coach their two sons. Both boys were older and could handle his rigorous training style. But Lele? She was a delicate little thing, raised under Gu Ziâs careful careâcould she really withstand his strict methods?
Finding a female instructor wouldnât be difficult. A single call to the military, and theyâd have a suitable candidate in no time.
But Gu Zi wasnât convinced. âI know youâre just worried about Lele,â she said, âbut donât underestimate her just because sheâs a girl. Softness can overcome hardness. If you could train her brothers well, you can train her too. How about this? Lele and I will both learn from you during the summer break.â
To Gu Zi, the solution was obvious. Why go through the hassle of hiring someone when they had an expert right at home?
More importantly, she didnât trust outsiders with Leleâs training. She had read enough horror stories in her past lifeânews reports of martial arts schools where instructors had beaten students to death. The very thought sent a chill down her spine.
Before Su Shen could respond, Su Li had already bounded over to them, excitement lighting up his face. âMommy, I can be your and Leleâs coach too! Iâll be a very gentle instructor, I promise!â
Gu Zi laughed at his eagerness, but Su Shen simply pulled Su Li aside, clearing his throat. âAlright,â he said to Gu Zi, âIâll teach you and Lele myself. Iâll make a proper training plan.â
Su Li was indignant at being brushed aside, but after a momentâs thought, he realized he was in no position to compete with his father.
Fine. If he couldnât be the coach now, he would just have to master every single one of his fatherâs skills. One day, he would surprise them all!
The next day, Gu Zi took the boys to the nearest extracurricular training center. She was someone who liked to execute her plans immediatelyâso today, she would let Su Bing and Su Li pick an interesting class each and sign up on the spot.
When they arrived, she was a little surprised. The training center was nothing fancyâjust a collection of single-story buildings, a far cry from the towering complexes of the future.
But upon closer inspection, she realized how comprehensive the programs were. There were classes for accordion, painting and design, advanced mathematics, and even ancient cultural studies. The artistic atmosphere was undeniable.
And the instructors? Many were either from prestigious universities or had studied abroad. The teaching quality here far exceeded that of many future training centers.
It was trueâno matter the era, the resources available to the wealthy were beyond what ordinary people could imagine.
As they passed by the third classroom, Su Bing suddenly stopped.
Gu Zi halted as well, following his gaze. A simple wooden sign stood next to the bright red door, reading âAccordion Arts Class.â
Inside, the faint sound of a child practicing could be heard. Then, out of nowhereâ
A piercing wail shattered the air.
A little boy, no older than seven, came sprinting out, tears streaming down his face as he sobbed dramatically, âYouâre all horrible! Youâre ruining the future of our nationâs children! Iâm going to call the police and have you all executed!â
Two instructors rushed after him, their expressions a mix of amusement and exasperation. One, slightly faster, called out, âTeacher Jiang was only trying to scare you! He didnât really mean you wouldnât get to eat if you didnât practice! If you run home now, your grandma is just going to punish you!â
And with that, the boy vanished into the distance, leaving only the faint echoes of his sobs.
The second instructor, now standing near Gu Zi and the boys, decided against chasing after the runaway student. Instead, she turned to them with a polite smile. âHello, you must be looking at the classes for your younger brothers? Iâm one of the accordion instructors hereâJiang is my surname.â
Gu Zi nodded. âNice to meet you, Ms. Jiang. Iâm Ms. Gu. I brought my two sons here to explore their interests. What exactly happened just now?â
She wasnât sure if Su Bing wanted to sign up for this class, but regardless, she needed to understand the situation. And besides, she couldnât denyâshe was a little curious.
