"Quick, let’s take a photo." Ye Xiangting dismounted from her Water-type Pet Beast, struck a pose, and said.

Qiao Sang handed her phone to Little Treasure Hunter and added, "Use telekinesis to take the shot. Make sure you capture the grand gates of the Imperial Beastmaster Academy, too."

With that, she stood next to her mother, holding Yaobao and mimicking the pose.

Lubao still perched atop her head.

Gangbao flapped its wings nearby.

Little Treasure Hunter floated above everyone, its eyes glowing blue as it controlled the phone to rise higher into the air and let out a crisp "click" for the shot.

As the flash lit up, it placed its paws on both sides of its face and made a silly ghost face.

A minute later, Qiao Sang saw the photo her mother had uploaded to her social feed.

"The Imperial Beastmaster Academy is truly massive..." Ye Xiangting said in awe as she captured images of the surrounding buildings.

Qiao Sang was about to say something after putting down her phone.

Suddenly, the space in front of them began to tear open, starting with a tiny crack that quickly expanded. A spike-covered Pet Beast’s head emerged from the growing rift.

A Secret Realm Rift?!

Qiao Sang’s heart skipped a beat as she instinctively shielded her mother behind her.

"Ya!"

Yaobao leapt out of its Beast Tamer’s arms, bared its teeth, and glared at the spiked Pet Beast’s emerging head.

"Boom!"

At that moment, a flash of fire streaked past. A Pet Beast with taut legs engulfed in flames delivered a fiery kick that shoved the spiked-headed creature back into the rift.

Immediately after, a voice shouted:

"There’s a Secret Realm Rift!"

In the blink of an eye, a crowd quickly gathered around.

Colorful Star Arrays lit up as a variety of uniquely shaped Pet Beasts were summoned from within.

The onlookers eyed the Secret Realm Rift with eager excitement. Not only were they unfazed, but they even seemed unusually thrilled.

Unfortunately, the rift swiftly closed.

The crowd sighed collectively, exchanged a few casual remarks with those nearby, and then dispersed.

Qiao Sang stood there, dumbstruck. She randomly stopped a girl who was about to leave and asked, "Do Secret Realm Rifts often appear on campus?"

The girl looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Freshman?"

Qiao Sang nodded, "Mm."

"Our school was specifically built in a region of Eagle Country that’s rife with Secret Realm Rifts," the girl replied with a casual wave. "Can’t help it—greater power comes with greater responsibility."

Before leaving, she added reassuringly:

"Don’t worry, junior. The rifts that appear on campus are usually predicted in advance, and notifications are sent out. Large rifts will have assigned guards, and small ones? Don’t even bother with them—most of the creatures that come out are weak. Any passing senior or upperclassman can handle them."

Qiao Sang’s expression became complicated. "Do Secret Realm Rifts occur really often?"

The girl thought for a moment and replied, "Not too bad. Happens, what—ten or more times a day? Honestly, encountering one is lucky. After all, it’s the fastest way to earn points."

"Of course." The man’s face broke into a broad smile. "The other students might not, but all of us teachers at the Beastmaster Academy know who you are. After all, you’re the first freshman ever chosen for the Imperial Class."

"Imperial Class?" Ye Xiangting’s ears perked up at the teacher’s unusual attitude toward her daughter. She suddenly looked revitalized, fixing her gaze on him.

Her expression practically screamed: Tell me everything.

"And you are?" the man asked.

"I’m her mom," Qiao Sang introduced.

"Ah, so you’re Qiao Sang’s mother." The man smiled warmly. "You’re so young. I’d really love to hear how you managed to raise a genius like Qiao Sang."

Ye Xiangting beamed with pride.
