“We should go.” Mikayla’s calm voice reminded.

“Alright.” Qiao Sang turned to leave.

The stall owner sighed, muttering: “Want Sun, it’s not that I didn’t try to help you...”

“Rain!”

Before he could finish, Want Sun flushed red and cursed loudly, then angrily flew off.

That old man nearly ruined me!

The stall owner stared in confusion as the other butterfly, Hate Rain, only sighed and followed after.

She wondered again what beasts her teacher had. Other than the Fate Spirit she’d seen in Eagle Country, Mikayla hadn’t summoned any others in front of her. Curiosity sparked.

“Teacher, why don’t you ever summon your other beasts?”

Still typing, Mikayla replied: “Several of mine are stationed in different locations for specialized training. Only one remains in my Codex, and it usually just sleeps. There’s no need to summon it.”

“Are they all left in Eagle Country?” Qiao Sang asked.

Mikayla hummed an affirmative.

Qiao Sang hesitated, then asked: “Once someone reaches S-rank, can they summon a beast from Eagle Country directly into Dragon Nation?”

Mikayla’s fingers paused. She turned with a smile.

“Of course. At S-rank, as long as a beast is within 6,371 kilometers, it can be summoned instantly.”

She was stunned, but then nodded. After all, S-ranks were practically myths in the textbooks, almost godlike.

Under clear skies, with not a drop of rain, Yabao cheered. His body swelled, growing larger.

Yongtian City, where modern architecture merged with skybound platforms. Many buildings stood atop clouds, and flying beast competitions were frequent here. It was one of the most popular cities in the Central Hollow Region.

She recalled the information she had read earlier. Unlike other cities, every flying beast here bore a flight tag.

Sure enough, a sky patrol officer in white uniform approached, accompanied by a bird-type beast.

He eyed Yabao and the yet-untransformed Gangbao.

“Tourists?”

Mikayla nodded.

“Yes, is there an issue?”

“Because we have many aerial beasts and cloud-buildings, flight here is restricted. To use your own beasts in the air, you’ll need temporary flight tags. Odd numbers fly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, even numbers on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays. Sundays are unrestricted.”

Qiao Sang asked, “Where do we apply?”

“At the Air Control Office.”

“I see.” She nodded.

The officer glanced once more at Yabao and Gangbao, then departed.

“Yap…”

Yabao drooped, shrinking back down.

“Shall we apply?” Mikayla asked.

A few weeks ago, she would’ve decided herself. But Qiao Sang’s mission efficiency was always unpredictable, and who knew how long they’d stay here.

Qiao Sang glanced at Yabao, then nodded without hesitation.

“Let’s apply.”

She was almost certain her Braim Domain breakthrough would happen here. It wouldn’t be in just a day or two. Yabao would never last grounded that long. And Gangbao, as a flying beast, needed the skies too.

“Alright.” Mikayla agreed.

They rode a transport beast to the Air Control Office, a grand glass building suspended in the clouds.

Mikayla stayed outside, admiring the cloud-architecture, while Qiao Sang went inside to handle the paperwork.

The hall bustled with people. She took a number, queued, and reached a counter.

“You’ve got two flying beasts.” The staff noted.

“Do you want tags for both?”

“Yes.” Qiao Sang nodded.

“Numbers are random, odd or even can’t be chosen. Valid for seven days only.”

“That’s fine.”

Within minutes, the machine spat out two transparent tags.

The clerk handed them over with her ID.

“Next.”

Qiao Sang stepped aside, reading them: Air YT·0865 and Air YT·3088.

Perfect. One odd, one even.

She grinned, stuck them onto Yabao and Gangbao.

Gangbao was indifferent.

“Yap…”

Yabao sulked, pried it off with his paw, checked that his fur wasn’t damaged, then reluctantly stuck it back on.

Curious, Qiao Sang tested Gangbao’s, no marks at all. Some kind of advanced material.

Outside, Yabao eagerly swelled again.

“Wait.” Qiao Sang stopped him.

“It’s Tuesday. Today only evens can fly. That means Gangbao.”

The tags were bound to specific beasts. If mismatched, sky patrol could easily spot it and ground them.

“Yap…” Yabao sighed.

Flying wasn’t easy.

Without complaint, Gangbao expanded in size.

Gasps echoed around.

“What the- So cool!”

“What beast is that?!”

Mikayla turned her head, eyes flashing when she saw Gangbao’s massive form. She quickly strode over and mounted with Qiao Sang.

Qiao Sang set their destination on her navigation: Beast Center.

Mikayla, watching, said suddenly: “I recall hearing your Steel-Slash Giant Falcon once underwent temporary bond evolution back on Chaosu Star?”

Qiao Sang confirmed.

“Yeah. I took her to a coordination contest. Out of nowhere, she evolved. Scared me to death at the time.”

Smiling at the memory, she tapped

“Since she already evolved once, why haven’t you used more energy foods or medicines to quickly replenish her energy reserves?” Mikayla asked.

“I have.” Qiao Sang replied.

“From pills to food, I’ve always given her supplements. Even Professor Flauda Snowden from the Breeding Department made energy pills focused entirely on restoring her reserves.”

Mikayla considered.

“There are still many materials that can fill a beast’s energy to the brim without side effects. Your Steel-Slash Giant Falcon only lacks energy. You should use them.”

Qiao Sang blinked.

“Those… aren’t things you can just buy with money, right?”

“Did you forget the school granted you ten thousand points?” Mikayla reminded.
