It was a pity that in Su Pingâs hands, it had been somewhat underutilized. Today marked its formal debut.
The light rain, falling selectively within this forest, seemed to bring even more joy to the Yunshui Qinglian. Each petal eagerly bloomed, absorbing the rainwater from the sky.
In the humid environment, Su Ping wasnât fond of the dampness, but seeing the Spirit Land become more vibrant due to the rain, he also felt somewhat relieved.
Even the Biyao Chunshen seemed somewhat astonished by the raindrops falling from the sky, and then, something happened that Su Ping had not anticipated.
After the drizzle, all the rainwater in the Spirit Land was guided by the energy trajectories in the forest and ultimately funneled entirely into the small pond where the Yunshui Qinglian was placed.
Subsequently, under Su Pingâs incredulous gaze, the Yunshui Qinglian advanced from an Elite Third Rank directly to an Elite Fourth Rank.
Although, as a plant-based Pet Beast with the potential of a Monarch-level Species, it was expected to advance quickly at the Elite Level.
But such a reaction had never been seen before, right?
RUSTLE, RUSTLE...
The petals of the Yunshui Qinglian fluttered slightly, as if expressing gratitude to Su Ping for the artificial rain. Then, before Su Ping could react, the previously dormant Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas opened instantly from within his soul!
A page in the Catalog, previously dull and grey, was slowly illuminatedânone other than the Yunshui Qinglian itself!
In the Catalog, the Yunshui Qinglian displayed azure petals, elegant amidst clouds and water, as if part of a fairyland.
[Catalog âYunshui Qinglianâ illuminated, current Catalog level: 1, Origin Reward acquired: Talent âRain Summoning Techniqueâ effect enhanced (3/20)!]
Su Ping blinked, somewhat belatedly realizing what had happened.
Is it really that simple? Just like that, the Catalog is illuminated?
Although, of the numerous plant-based Pet Beasts heâd encountered, many had illuminated their Catalogs. The dozen or so plant-based Pet Beasts he had brought back from the western suburbs were like this, even upgrading the original Telepathic Communication to a more efficient Psychic Communication.
However, after illuminating a Catalog again, rarely had he encountered the situation where the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas granted talent enhancements as an Origin Reward. Of course, the main reason was that he hadnât been too keen on illuminating Catalogs recently.
Besides, as a Beast Tamerâs talents go, apart from the original âDragonâs Mightâ and talents like Eye of Truth and Telepathic Communication that indeed aid in the Cultivation of Pet Beasts, he generally didnât have much need for the others.
For instance, this Rain Summoning Techniqueâit was indeed the first time today that he had used it properly for other Pet Beasts, and unexpectedly, it yielded this kind of result.
Su Ping glanced subconsciously at the Catalog entry for the Yunshui Qinglian:
[Catalog: Yunshui Qinglian]
[A water-based plant Pet Beast, quite an all-round aquatic creature. Its weaknesses are prolonged absence of water and substandard water quality, which will gradually deplete it. Racial Skills include: Rainfall, Water Arrow, Water Hardening, Water Acidification, Life Water Quality, Water Source Refining, Water Source Absorption.]
[Current Catalog Level: 1 (5/500)]
Known Evolutionary Atlas, special cultivation:
[None Discovered Yet]
Preferences, habits:
[Loves bathing in the rain, enjoys watering plants, prefers humid environments.]
Record log:
[Achieved required intimacy, gain +5 Catalogue Experience, subsequently +1 Catalogue Experience for each day spent with it.]
Pretty standard stuff.
This Yunshui Qinglian could apparently alter the qualities of âRainfallâ and âWater Arrow,â two water-based offensive maneuvers, and use these as a medium for attack, defense, depletion, or even healing effects.
Indeed, a very comprehensive plant-based Pet Beast.
Su Ping nodded with satisfaction.
After administering the Rain Summoning Technique for another ten minutes, he ceased the talent as the Yunshui Qinglian continued to make its delighted rustling sounds.
Feeling the consumption of his spiritual power, Su Ping then turned to look at the Biyao Chunshen and thought for a moment.
"Senior, does this Spirit Land have a name?"
The Biyao Chunshen gave Su Ping a peculiar âlookâ and then evidently ignored what Su Ping considered an irrelevant question.
"In that case, may I name it for you, Senior? How about âHeart of Springâ?"
Su Ping looked at the Biyao Chunshen with eager anticipation.
However, the Biyao Chunshen clearly still did not share his enthusiasm. Still, its indifferent posture, though it didnât seem to comprehend, implied its consent to Su Pingâs passion for naming.
Yesterday, Su Ping spent a good part of the day talking with Shangguan Ye and Yang He and gained some understanding of the Spirit Land. Evidently, the âHeart of Springâ Spirit Land granted by the Biyao Chunshen was different from most Spirit Lands.
The biggest difference lay in the inclusion of the Yunshui Qinglian and the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo.
Generally speaking, all Spirit Lands are meant to serve plant-based Pet Beasts themselves. Therefore, such configurations of Spirit Lands wouldnât include plant-based Pet Beasts. Because if so, these Pet Beasts might destroy and absorb the nurturing energy of the Spirit Land for their own growth.
But within the Heart of Spring, a large number of plant-based Pet Beasts were used in its creation. Not only did they not deplete it, but they also formed a harmonious existence with the Spirit Landâa truly wondrous occurrence.
It was precisely this difference that led Su Ping to feel that Spirit Lands were not merely environments for cultivating plant-based Pet Beasts, but something much more.
