Chen Changâan had no idea about the complex thoughts running in Yang Changdaoâs flirtatious mind.
He simply shook his head, grinned slightly, and said,
"Itâs nothing, Elder Yang, I was just thinking."
"The monthly salaries are about to be distributed, and itâs time for the young ladies of the Hundred Flower Sect pavilion to be pampered again."
"Am I right, Elder?"
"Ah... Yes, yes."
Yang Changdao was a little slow at first to catch what Chen Changâan was implying, and nodded absentmindedly as he said,
"My nephew is indeed outstanding, his thoughts are indeed different from us old folks...huh?"
Wait a minute!
Before he could finish his thought, Yang Changdao suddenly realized that what Chen Changâan had just said was exactly what he had been thinking about recently. Had his affair with Qinghe been discovered by Saint Chen?
Impossible.
This matter had only just begun to hint at ambiguity and was far from being settled.
Moreover, Saint Chen spent all his time within the sect, never venturing out, so he couldnât possibly know.
It was probably just a thought that occurred to him by chance.
Shaking his head, Yang Changdao swept aside the thoughts in his mind.
Dismissing it as a suggestion made offhandedly by Chen Changâan.
Next, the pair greeted each other politely.
After some time, and when he felt it was the right time, Chen Changâan turned to Yang Changdao and said,
"Elder Yang, since the ancestor invited us, we shouldnât delay any longer, letâs set off."
Hearing this, Yang Changdao promptly agreed,
"Indeed, letâs go."
Yang Changdao couldnât wait to leave at once.
For some reason, he always felt naked in the presence of this young man.
This feeling was unbearable.
He wanted it to end as soon as possible!
Soon, Yang Changdao gestured, summoning a magic artifact flying boat, and turning to Chen Changâan, he said,
"Changâan, the place where the ancestor resides is somewhat special, letâs take this."
He gestured for Chen Changâan to get onboard.
"Thank you, Elder."
Chen Changâan did not think twice upon hearing Yang Changdaoâs words. After giving a slight bow to Yang Changdao, he stepped onto the flying boat.
A low hum filled the air!
Soon, the two boarded the flying boat, heading towards the horizon.
After a while, having passed through numerous magnificent and stunning Immortal mountains, Chen Changâan and Yang Changdao arrived in front of a towering mountain peak.
The peak stretched straight into the clouds, too tall to see the top.
It was enveloped in an ethereal layer of clouds and mist, with Immortal cranes flying about. The towering peak was filled with grandeur, displaying a manifest landscape of an Immortalâs treasured land.
This place was none other than the destination of Chen Changâan and Yang Changdaoâs journey: the divine peak of the Tianshui Sect!
"Changâan, this is the Dao arena of the Ninth Ancestor. Iâll leave you here and you go in on your own," Yang Changdao put away the flying boat, and pointing at a cave dwelling radiating a purple-golden light, he told Chen Changâan.
Even Yang Changdao, a respected former elder, couldnât casually trespass a place like the divine peak.
"Alright, thank you Elder."
Chen Changâan nodded in acknowledgement.
After bidding farewell to Yang Changdao, he walked straight toward the cave dwelling.
Although it was a cave dwelling, it was actually a small world.
Purple light surrounded it, acting as both a formation and a shield. Ordinary people couldnât see the inside from outside at all.
To the scene before him, Chen Changâan showed no surprise.
When cultivators reached the seventh realm, a small world would form within them. This small world would be released after the death of the cultivator.
Some of these worlds would disappear due to instability or improper maintenance, but some would be preserved.
It wasnât unusual for the Tianshui Sect, with its long-standing heritage, to possess this kind of legacy.
It didnât take long for Chen Changâan to arrive at the entrance of the Dao arena.
He respectfully bowed to the light barrier and said,
"Chen Changâan, the thirty-eighth mountain lord of Dao Cang Mountain, is here to meet the Ninth Ancestor."
The Ninth Ancestor, Chen Changâan didnât know much about him and had no idea why he had been summoned.
"Is that you, Changâan? Come in."
As soon as Chen Changâan finished speaking, an old voice came from within the purple miniature world.
Subsequently, a door tall enough for a single person suddenly appeared in the originally purple barrier.
The endless purple energy within the door swirled and swayed, as if welcoming Chen Changâanâs arrival.
"Thank you, Ancestor."
Without any hesitation, Chen Changâan stepped inside.
As soon as he entered, a wide expansive world was revealed before him.
In this world, there was a vast, infinite yellow river, and downstream of this river, there stood a purple Dao arena.
In the middle of the Dao arena, an old man sat cross-legged.
The old man sat with his eyes slightly closed, clad in a green robe with white hair and a face full of wrinkles.
He seemed to be extremely old.
However, despite appearing old,
upon closer inspection, one would discover that the old manâs face was filled with a sense of vast tranquility that seemed as desolate as death.
Without a doubt, this was a cultivator whose life had reached an infinite end.
Dao Masters do not die, it is their Dao that remains immortal, not them!
"Disciple Chen Changâan, pays respect to the Ninth Ancestor."
Chen Changâan thought for a moment, then walked forward, bowing slightly in respect.
"Itâs you, Changâan, come here."
Upon hearing Chen Changâanâs words, the old man opened his eyes, radiating kindliness.
