Chapter 2233: Carrying a Treasure

Liu Zhen and Wang Da sat in the Gang Master’s room. Wang Da was holding a jade slip and carefully went through the contents. By the end, he looked up and said, “Zhen, have you read Little Ling’s report?”

Liu Zhen nodded and said, “I have. To be honest, I was surprised at the beginning. But as I read more and more, I felt that his concerns are reasonable. I don’t know how many times I have walked the road between Split River City and Demonheart City. Besides the time we were attacked by the three gangs, there were no problems on the road. Before long, Liu Zhen finished choosing the group of elites. Wang Da personally led the group and used a portable transmission formation to go to the meeting place agreed upon with Zhao Hai. However, they didn’t show themselves but instead hid outside the town.

Zhao Hai also received word from Liu Zhen telling him that the reinforcements have arrived. Only then did Zhao Hai relax.

The night passed quietly. The next morning, Zhao Hai and the others departed. The Convoy Leader didn’t put any airs in front of Zhao Hai and instead talked and laughed with him. The day went smoothly. However, the fat man discovered that the Blood Knife Gang members were more vigilant compared to yesterday. This caused the fat man to be a bit worried.

The next three days passed uneventfully. However, the fat man didn’t relax his guard. He knew the importance of his cargo. He cannot afford to have anything happen.

Zhao Hai was also observing the fat man in this period of time. He wanted to see if the fat man showed any abnormal actions. Zhao Hai nodded and said, “Gang, Master, I’m here to report. After three days of observation, I have made some discoveries.”

Wang Da nodded and said, “Sit down and tell me.”

Zhao Hai sat down on a piece of beast skin opposite Wang Da. Since they had been staying in the wild, these animal skins became invaluable. At this time, Wang Da had several pieces around him.

Zhao Hai looked at the two and said, “Gang Master, we can test him tomorrow. Lead a group to attack the convoy and see how he responds. If he protects himself first and not the cargo, then we can be sure that the treasure is with his body.”

Wang Da nodded, “Alright. I’ll go attack the convoy tomorrow. Go and observe. If that fatty really has a treasure…” He didn’t say anything mire but Zhao Hai and Liu Zhen understood his message.

Zhao Hai added, “The Blood Knife Gang has been in Split River City for a long time. The destination of the fat man shouldn’t be Split River City. Once we arrive, they would hire another set of guards. It’s most likely those from the three gangs. When the time comes, the Gang Master can take action and deal with them all in one clean swoop. Not only can we get revenge, we might also gain a valuable treasure in the process.”

Hearing Zhao Hai, Wang Da’s face couldn’t help but change. He wanted to take action before the convoy arrived at Split River City. But now that he heard Zhao Hai, he hesitated.

Zhao Hai looked at Wang Da and said, “Gang Master, if that fat man really has a treasure with him, then that treasure most likely belongs to the Moonfall Palace. There should be people in there who are aware of the treasure. If we attack before arriving at Split River City, Moonfall Palace will certainly find fault with us. When the time comes, they don’t even need to make a move, they could just announce that the Blood Knife Gang has a treasure and we’ll be finished. Therefore, we cannot cast doubt on us. We need to reach Split River City first before moving.”

Wang Da stared, then he nodded and said, “Alright, we’ll do it your way. Let’s test him tomorrow. If that fatty really has a treasure, then the moment he leaves Split River City will be his death.”

Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “Then, Gang Master, I’ll head back first. I can’t be seen here.”

Wang Da nodded, “Go and pay close attention. Make sure to protect yourself and our brothers.” Zhao Hai cupped his fist before leaving.

After Zhao Hai left, Wang Da turned to Liu Zhen and sighed, “He’s a good kid. Vicious and merciless. He’ll be great one day. Little Zhen, once the sect begins recruiting disciples, I’m planning to have Little Ling apply. What do you think?”

Liu Zhen smiled faintly and said, “Although Little Ling is vicious and merciless, he looks after his own people. If he enters the Forbidden Path Sect, I’m sure he will not forget our Blood Knife Gang. It’s a good idea for him to join the sect.”
