But once he held her in his arms, Jane Sampson couldnāt break free no matter how hard she struggled.
She bought him rabbit Kris, which he criticized as ugly, and yet he insisted on holding her?
Jane thought to herself that she really didnāt want to indulge James Blackās pesky flaw, dreaming of transforming into a strongwoman and kicking him away with one foot.
James Black wasnāt blind, of course he knew the woman in his arms had been watching him the whole time. His laughter continued until he lay down and took her into his arms, and then he stopped to ask, "Why havenāt I seen you take your medicine from last night to now? Didnāt the doctor prescribe you anything when you were discharged from the hospital?"
"Medicine!" Jane immediately sprang to life, raised her hand to smack her forehead in annoyance, "Yes! I stuffed it into my suitcase and forgot about it!"
Meeting James Blackās gaze for a second, Jane felt as if she saw contempt for her in his eyes.
Jane thought to herself that if James Black didnāt ask, she would probably wait until the next time she used her suitcase to remember the medicine.
"Stay lying down, Iāll get it for you," feeling the person in his arms intending to get up, James Black pushed her back down and added, "Pig brain."
Looking at Jane Sampson, who lay there giggling and laughing at him, James Black finally rose and went to the cloakroom to fetch the suitcase Jane just brought with her.
Her medicine was indeed well-placed in her suitcase, two types of it: one was anti-inflammatory, and the other helped her hand recover.
James Black took the items out and returned the suitcase to its spot before bringing out the medicine. He even went to the living room to pour Jane a cup of warm boiled water.
"James Black, youāre really good to me!" Jane smiled while holding the water cup, essentially giving James Black a card of appreciation.
"Hmm," James Black uttered indifferently, wishing she could look at him with that same admiration when he told her to avoid snacks, which would save him a lot of trouble.
There were only two types of medicine, not many. Jane swallowed them all in one go, and after that, she opened her mouth wide and bragged to James Black with a triumphant "Ah," saying "See, Iām really good at taking medicine, arenāt I?"
James Black took the empty cup, flicking her forehead with his hand, "Are you really that proud of this?"
As a child, she was like a medicine pot, only getting physically stronger bit by bit as she grew older. Her ability to take medicine was something trained from a young age.
But seeing Jane so pleased with herself, James Black didnāt drown her enthusiasm with cold water. After taking the empty cup and medicine out, he placed Jane Sampsonās medication on the tea table, to help him remember to remind her to take it.
The person causing the most commotion before their nap was Jane Sampson, restlessly moving about in his arms for a good while before falling asleep. When the alarm clock went off, it was Jane Sampson who didnāt want to wake up.
In the end, it was through carrying that James Black took the woman from the bed to the restroom to wash up. After she washed her face and perked up, he led Jane out the door.
The traffic on the road was better than Jane had initially anticipated, and when they arrived at the company, it was only 2:40.
A woman, accompanied by a manāa tall and handsome one at thatāentering the company together was bound to turn heads, even in a company filled with many handsome men and beautiful women.
Jane felt relieved as she walked, thankful that she had fully disguised herself before heading out. From the reception area, nobody could recognize her; everyone was simply curious about the identity of James Black, wondering if he might be a new male model signed by the company.
"Huh, James Black is here too?" Rock Bell was surprised to see the two of them enter the office.
