Was it just because he saw a message she casually copied, pasted, and forwarded in her Moments that he took it to heart and secretly prepared this gift for her?
Jane stood there, lifting her gaze to look at James, who was staring at her, and she suddenly smiled, then said, "You have become very different from the man I had in mind."
Jane had never imagined that she would one day receive any sort of gift from James.
Let alone Valentineās Day or a wedding anniversary, or even a birthday gift, she hadnāt even considered the possibility of a single flower.
Due to Jamesās personality, Jane always knew that he was not the type to indulge in romance and surprises.
Yet, Jane thought, she probably didnāt understand the man before her as well as she thought she did.
"You know me well?" James chuckled and flicked Janeās forehead with his finger, "Itās very late, go take a bath."
"No way, I want to try the lipstick color first." Jane, barefoot, ran into the bedroom and directly applied the lipstick facing the mirror in the dressing room.
After applying it, the color of the lipstick was far more stunning than Jane had imagined.
The red tinted with a shade of orange, but not too bold, unexpectedly brought out her complexion and fairness upon her lips.
After finishing, Jane indulgently checked herself out in the cloakroom mirror, then took out her mobile phone to snap two selfies without any beautifying tools, followed by two more photos with the lipstick from her pocket, and just as she heard James enter the doorway, she hurriedly stowed away her phone without posting to Moments and stepped out of the cloakroom.
"James, look! Isnāt it pretty?" Jane ran up to him, grabbing Jamesās arm with one hand, and since she was a bit shorter than him, she stood on her tiptoes and pouted to show him the lipstick on her lips.
Jamesās eyes subtly flickered as he looked at the lips before him.
"Yes, itās pretty."
Pretty enough that he wanted to kiss her.
But James still restrained himself.
"Right? This color is so pretty." Jane, overly excited, wrapped her arms around James and playfully pressed a firm kiss onto his cheek, leaving a distinct lip print.
Seeing the obvious lip mark on his face, Jane giggled like a sly fox, then took out her phone and rapidly snapped several photos of his face before running off.
James stood there, stunned for several seconds, and only when he heard the sound of running water in the bathroom, accompanied by her singing, did he begin to smile with a slight curl at the corner of his mouth.
It seemed she really liked the gift.
James walked to the cloakroom, and looking in the mirror, saw her lip shape perfectly imprinted on his face.
James thought that perhaps in the future he should pay more attention to things she liked; giving a gift and getting kissed by her in return was surprisingly pleasant.
Jane hadnāt come out of the bathroom yet, but James had already come across her new post in her Moments.
A photo of the gift someone gave, and a profile shot of that someone.
[Heart] [Heart] [Heart]
[Happy] [Happy] [Happy]
Accompanied by three photos.
The first was simply a photo of the lipstick itself, the second was a photo of her lips after applying the lipstick, posed next to the lipstick, and the third was a profile shot of James, covered with her lip print.
But it was only a profile, so Jamesās features werenāt clear.
Jane was aware, she shouldnāt casually post clear pictures of Jamesās features in her Moments; if she had to, sheād block certain groups of friends.
