Jane Sampson suddenly felt that she wasnât that tired after all; she had taken a nap in the afternoon and it seemed like she could stay up all night without sleeping. Just now, there seemed to be something missing from the script that she hadnât fully reviewed.
After getting an answer from Jane Sampson, James Black placed the book he was holding down and started waiting for Jane to return. Nearly five minutes had passed, yet there was no sign of Jane.
James Black frowned and called out her name and surname, "Jane Sampson."
The person in the cloakroom bit her lip and didnât respond, giving the suitcase an idle kick.
What do you do when you pretend not to hear and donât want to go out?
There was no movement from the person in the cloakroom, and James walked barefoot off the bed, towards the cloakroom. As he pulled open the door, he saw Jane leaning against the wall, lost in thought. He asked, "Do you plan on sleeping in the cloakroom tonight?"
"Can I?" Jane blurted out.
The corners of James Blackâs mouth twitched almost imperceptibly, and he retorted, "What do you think?"
Naturally, it was...
Impossible.
Jane touched her nose tip and said, "Iâm not sleepy yet. You go to sleep first. Iâll see if thereâs anything else that needs tidying up. Oh, it seems I havenât finished reading my script. Iâll go back to the living room to have a look."
After speaking, Jane, crouching down, prepared to leave the cloakroom from Jamesâs side. However, as she was just about to brush against Jamesâs shoulder, his hand came down and pressed on her head.
"What are you hiding for? Do you think Iâm going to eat you?" With those words, he turned around and picked her up, then walked steadily towards the bed.
Yes!
In Janeâs heart, there was a capitalized and bolded yes!
"James Black, letâs not tonight, okay? Please~" Janeâs small hand gently pinched the muscle on Jamesâs arm without much force. It naturally didnât hurt James, it was just a tickle.
Seeing Jane act like this, James realized the reason she had been hiding in the cloakroom and not coming out. Heh, so she was afraid of this?
James placed her on the bed and covered her with a quilt, then hummed in agreement with her wishes as a response.
He had already planned to spare her tonightâafter all, she hadnât rested well yesterday and her state throughout the day today wasnât very good. Knowing she had to go to the film crew the next day, James wasnât going to be the kind of person who didnât know moderation.
With Jamesâs response, Janeâs heart was greatly relieved.
So most of the time, this guy wasnât really that annoying.
"James Black, youâre so nice!" Jane happily hugged Jamesâs arm, closed her eyes, and as she spoke, she yawned several times in succession.
It wasnât that she wasnât sleepy; she was just too absorbed in reading the script just now and didnât feel tired. After finishing the script and relaxing, sleepiness overwhelmed her.
From declaring she wasnât sleepy to falling asleep, Jane didnât take very longâroughly three minutes was all it took.
Listening to the steady breathing of the person next to him, James couldnât help but smile. Alone, he laughed softly at the now-sleeping Jane and then stretched out his arm to pull the womanâwho was hugging his armâinto his arms.
Early the next morning, James had to return to the guard team. When he woke up, Jane was still sleeping soundly.
James didnât have the heart to wake her. Instead, he set an alarm on her mobile phone, leaving her enough time to prepare her luggage and to let her sleep as long as possible.
The day was just beginning to dawn, and James had already finished packing and was ready to leave. Before he left, he returned to the bedroom one more time. Without his embrace to confine her, Jane was sleeping somewhat restlessly.
