"Miss, all these fruits are for you; theyāre fresh fruits just delivered from the fruit wholesale market." The robust auntie single-handedly brought down a basket of mangoes, huffing and puffing as she walked into the film crew and placed it in front of Jane Sampson, saying, "Your friend mentioned you were craving fruits yesterday but didnāt get to eat any, so today he contacted us, gave us money, and had us haul a truckload from the county town fruit wholesale market just for you, to let you and your colleagues have your fill."
"Take a look and see what you likeāwe hauled a whole truck over, every kind of fruit youād want." Another auntie, holding a box of cherries, came down laughing, "The person on the phone said you love these things, told us to buy a few more boxes. Oh my, I heard these fruits are imported, so expensive! Us ordinary folks wouldnāt even dare to eat them."
Jane Sampson was stunned because, on top of the truck, there were also apples, pomegranates, pears, and various other fruitsāhad they just grabbed a bit of everything available in the fruit wholesale market?
It was indeed a full tractor!
Harry Humming walked around the tractor, reached in to grab a mango, peeled it on the spot, and while eating, looked back at Jane Sampson and asked, "Who in your family has such a generous hand?"
As an idol, Harry Humming really didnāt have the slightest bit of idol vanity, eating with his face covered in mango juice, not minding if it looked unsightly or tarnished his image.
"I have no idea," Jane Sampson replied with a bewildered look; she genuinely didnāt know who was behind this.
In her entire circle of friends, she couldnāt think of anyone who would do this.
Peter Gingery, perhaps? Could it have been him who saw the post in her Moments and decided to pull off this stunt for her?
Or maybe Bright Sampton?
After mulling it over, Jane Sampson shook her head, ruling them outāalthough those two knew she was shooting outside the region, they didnāt know her exact location.
That left only one person.
James Black?
Jane Sampson touched the tip of her nose, a surge of doubt in her heart, but this didnāt seem like something James Black would do.
Seeing the genuine puzzlement on Jane Sampsonās face, Harry Humming couldnāt help feeling envious, "Your fruits were thrown out yesterday, and today someone sends you a truckload; such a gesture is just too cool!"
After expressing his feelings, Harry Humming added, "I really want to find a friend as cool as that."
"You could definitely be that cool person yourself!" Jane Sampson patted Harry Hummingās shoulder and then said, "Help me call the crew over to grab some fruit. Iām going to make a phone call over there."
"Alrighty!" Harry Humming agreed cheerfully and turned to leave.
Once the surroundings were clear, Shirley Young finally asked Jane Sampson, "Was it sent by that person from your place?"
"Still not sure." Jane Sampson shook her head and then went to a secluded corner with her mobile phone to make a call.
Perhaps James Black was busy; Jane Sampson received no answer on her first call, and just as she was about to hang up during the second, James Black picked up.
The call had just connected, and before Jane Sampson could speak, she first heard James Blackās slightly heavy breathing, as if he had just come back from a run.
"Not interrupting your work, am I?" Jane Sampson asked, concerned the call might disturb James Blackās work.
"Not a bother." James Black held his phone in one hand and took a couple of sips from his water cup with the other, then directly asked, "Did you receive the fruit?"
Without needing to ask, James Blackās question let Jane Sampson know the answer.
So, the fruits really were bought by James Black?!
