"Remember to take care of your voice, eat something light tonight, and then get some rest early. You can sleep in tomorrow morning; come to the studio in the afternoon for makeup. In the evening, weāre just going out to the countryside to shoot a few scenes for the MV, not a lot, and it should be done in just over an hour," said James Carter as he handed Jane Sampson her mobile phone that was on the tabletop. "Donāt forget to take your phone back with you."
"I really would have forgotten if Mr. Carter hadnāt reminded me." Tired and dizzy, Jane now had songs stuck in her head, guessing that sheād even dream about singing in her sleep tonight.
"John Young knows you came to Springtown today. Heās taking an airplane here this afternoon and has made plans for you, me, and him to have dinner together. Heās always wanted to meet you in person," James Carter said, and then he asked, "You shouldnāt have any problems with that, right?"
"No problem at all. Iām waiting for Director Young to be stunned by me and then offer me a major role," Jane replied with a playful smile and a nod.
John Young was flying in specially for her, which showed his regard for her. Jane wasnāt foolish enough to shake her head and say she didnāt want to go at such a time.
Her Sister Tin was counting on her to snag a role from John Young, aiming to become the first person in the circle to take on roles from all Four Great Directors right after her debut.
James Carter was amused by Jane Sampson too. After they both tidied up their stuff, he escorted Jane back to the hotel. They agreed on a time to meet at the studio tomorrow afternoon before Jane, wearing a low-key mask and hat, discreetly entered the hotel.
Back in her room, Jane hurriedly took a shower and then lay down on the bed. She was sleeping in a daze when her mobile phone rang, and looking at the caller ID, she saw it was James Black.
"This guy, why is he so annoying?" Jane muttered, picking up the phone to answer, "Hello."
He used to go three to five months without giving her a single call, and now he had called twice today.
"Are you resting this early?" Hearing the grogginess in Janeās voice, James Black was somewhat surprised.
If she wasnāt at home, Jane Sampson was definitely someone who, even if she got into bed at 9:30 p.m., would keep playing with her mobile phone until past midnight before she reluctantly went to sleep.
Jane was addicted to the internet, continually scrolling through Moments or Twitter, playing games if she wasnāt on Twitter, and if not gaming, she could always binge-watch shows.
"Yeah, Iāve been busy until past 8 oāclock and am exhausted. As soon as I got back, all I wanted to do was sleep," Jane said, diplomatically protesting to James Black that she just wanted to sleep, but his phone call had woken her up.
"Havenāt had dinner?" Whether James Black picked up on her veiled complaint or not, he quickly caught on to another point.
"Is eating as important as sleeping?" Jane retorted.
"Which hotel are you staying at?" James Black didnāt entertain Janeās sarcastic retort, instead, he directly asked which hotel she was staying in.
Speaking in a tired voice, Jane reported the name and room number of the hotel, then sat up, ruffled her messy hair, and sighed, "What do you want, calling me like this?"
"Iāve arranged with our grandparents to pick you up the day after tomorrow afternoon for dinner. Just informing you, theyāre really looking forward to it, so youād better not let them down," James Black replied.
"Got it, the work here is progressing smoothly, there wonāt be any surprises," Jane responded promptly, "If thereās nothing else, Iām going to hang up and get back to sleep."
