When Jane turned her head and revealed her bare face, adorned only with lipstick, Hibiscus Wood was somewhat taken aback.
However, the surprise lasted for only a few seconds.
Jane was born beautiful, flawless without makeup, and with skin so white that a mere touch of lipstick made her stunningly gorgeous. Unlike her, due to continuous late-night work recently, her face had various issues, and without makeup to conceal them, everything would be exposed under the lens.
"Sister Hibiscus Wood," Mona Calm greeted excitedly as she stood by Janeās side and called out to Hibiscus Wood in a clear voice.
Hearing the call, Hibiscus Wood turned to look at the person who had spoken and, seeing it was someone she didnāt recognize, she responded indifferently and then diverted her gaze without paying any more attention to Mona Calm.
Jane noticed how Hibiscus Wood treated Mona Calm but didnāt say much about it.
Hibiscus Wood and Mona Calm were on different levels. Hibiscus Wood had her own pride and treated such minor figures coldly; Jane had no place to criticize her for that.
At least, Hibiscus Wood had politely acknowledged Mona Calmās greeting, having met the basic standards of courtesy.
Jane was kind to Mona Calm because in the previous crew, Mona Calm had shown her goodwill, and so, she reciprocated that kindness.
That didnāt mean that Jane could expect others to treat every minor role and person she favored with the same warmth and enthusiasm.
Hibiscus Wood found a topic to discuss, the recently broadcasted show "Iām Not a Celebrity." This show had been airing for several days now, and due to it, the rate at which each member of the cast had been gaining followers on Twitter had increased significantly.
Among them, Jane was the one with the highest calls and the most popular.
Even though only one episode had been aired, Janeās easygoing nature and beauty had endeared her to the netizens.
The adoration that the guard teamās little brothers had for Jane also brought her a considerable amount of topicality and exposure, raising her popularity significantly.
While still chatting, more and more actors started gathering around. When Jane saw a certain proud figure among the crowd, she was utterly shocked.
"What is Amber Edwards doing here in the crew?" Jane instinctively asked Hibiscus Wood, who was beside her, "Does a minor shareholder even need to come personally to keep an eye on the start-up ceremony?"
"Keep an eye?" Hibiscus Wood was puzzled, "Donāt you know?"
"Know what?" Jane shook her head.
"Amber Edwards is the third female role in this drama," Hibiscus Wood said, "The original number three was replaced by Amber after she increased her investment."
"!!" Jane was dumbfounded, "I really didnāt know about this. Nobody told me! Iāve been busy with work out of town these past few days and havenāt checked for the cast list announced here."
Now, knowing that Amber Edwards was to play the third female role, Jane felt as disgusted as if she had swallowed something vile.
Was the newcomer from the cinema really ousted by Amber Edwards?
The real question, however, was whether Amber, knowing she would have to face Jane here for such an extensive period, didnāt have the slightest bit of unease?
After all, the video of her apologizing to Jane was still on Janeās mobile phone.
