"I think youâre not wrong," Coco Edwards felt the same way. Amber Edwards was someone with narrow-minded intentions, but somehow, she never knew how to conceal them. If she could just hide her little schemes, Coco wouldnât even find an opportunity to confront her.
"Iâm truly honored that an idle heiress like you has suddenly found a lifeâs purpose because of me." Jane Sampson shook her head and sighed, then burst into laughter with Coco as they returned to the hotel.
The hotel was near the film and TV town; it was just a few minutesâ walk after leaving it.
The hotel wasnât very big, but the entire place had been booked by the film crew. As soon as Jane entered, the hotel front desk personnel recognized her at a glance, and a group of little misses over there came together with a burst of excitement, seeming very thrilled.
Jane, in a good mood, waved her hand and greeted them, "Hello there!"
"Wow, Jane Sampson greeted us! Oh my god, sheâs so nice!" One of the little misses was excitedly shaking her colleagueâs hand non-stop.
Coco dragged Jane all the way into the elevator, "Stop flirting with everyone you meet, or Iâll have to tattle to your significant other."
"Tattle what?" Jane looked thoroughly confused. "Iâve been filming all day; I didnât do anything wrong, did I?"
"Going around flirting with people isnât wrong?" Coco said. "Throwing sultry glances at other women behind your manâs back is wrong."
Jane looked up to the sky.
What in the world?
Since there were enough rooms and James Chip knew Jane had a significant background, Jane and Coco each had their own room, and for Janeâs convenience, Cocoâs room was arranged right next to hers.
The first thing Jane did when she got back to her room was to take a shower, and only after coming out refreshed did she go to the room next door to find Coco, so they could discuss what to have for dinner.
Both seasoned homebodies and not bothered to go outâespecially since this was Capital Province where Jane grew up and she had visited the film and TV town many timesâshe had no intention of going out for a walk.
They discussed it for a bit and decided on takeaway.
While waiting for the takeaway, Jane finally had time to pick up her mobile phone and glance at it, bursting into laughter when she saw the text message James Black had replied to in the afternoon.
Then, she immediately called James Black.
At this time, James Black should have been back at the dormitory.
The phone rang for quite a while before James Black answered it, so Jane asked, "Havenât you reached the dormitory? Why are you answering only now?"
Jane had washed her hair and taken a bath; calculating the time, James Black should have had his dinner and returned to the dormitory by now.
"I was just looking at a message," James Black said, "Then I had a few words with Peter Gingery."
Peter Gingery was right next to James, not there for any other reason but to eat ice pops.
His dormitory didnât have a refrigerator, so he could only bring snacks over to James. Aside from potato chips and other easy-to-store items, he would only take some back to his dorm.
"What text message?" Jane asked with curiosity. "I thought you hated texting. Whoâs sending you messages?"
"From the tone of it, it seems like itâs from the number I blocked the other day," James said. "This time theyâve switched to another number and just sent me another text message."
"Whatâs it about? Read it aloud for me," Jane assumed and egged him on, "Certainly, it must be some little demon youâve enticed."
