The girl merely hooked the corner of her lips and didnāt answer the question.
Sister Shaw glanced at the girl and continued, "The first time I saw Jane Sampson on TV, I immediately took a liking to this little miss. Sheās bright, straightforward, but not weak, especially after seeing her on āIām Not a Celebrityā, I really thought they were a perfect match. James Black, he needs such an independent and adorable girl to accompany him for life."
"Is that so?" the girl turned around and gave a noncommittal response.
"Yes," Sister Shaw replied with certainty, "She and James Black are suitable for each other, and he loves her very much."
The girl smiled gently, then suddenly stood up and said, "Iāve run into someone I know; I need to go down to say hello. Sister Shaw, please wait here for me; Iāll be back in a while."
Sister Shaw got up, trying to call the girl back, but the girl had already pushed the door and gone out.
Sister Shaw frowned slightly and stood at the window looking down. It wasnāt long before she saw the yellow figure walking towards Mr. and Mrs. Black.
"Hello, Mr. Black, long time no see."
The girl stood directly in front of James Black and Jane Sampson, extending her right hand to James Black.
Hearing his surname called, James Black looked up at the girlās face, searched his mind once, and had no impression; he didnāt remember having seen this person. So he didnāt stretch out his hand and was even somewhat displeased, not happy that a stranger suddenly interrupted his alone time with Jane Sampson.
"Looks like Mr. Black doesnāt remember me, huh?" The girl wasnāt at all embarrassed and slowly withdrew her hand, "My name is Jillian Carter; three years ago, Mr. Black, you saved my life in City L. Do you remember now?"
Jane Sampson curiously looked at the girl. As a woman, she immediately recognized that the girlās attire was all of exquisite quality. Jane Sampson turned her head to look at James Black, hoping to read his answer from his face.
But at this time, James Black seemed like the one Jane Sampson had known a long time ago. His face never let anyone perceive anything.
James Black seemed to think for a moment before speaking in a light tone, "Iāve helped so many people; I canāt count all of them."
The implication was that he still didnāt remember.
The girl then became a bit flustered, stamped her foot cutely and said in a coquettish voice, "Hey! Iām the reporter who covered the serial murder case in City L! That time I was following the murderer, wasnāt I discovered by him? Mr. Black, you saved me in the nick of time."
James Blackās expression remained unchanged; he just hummed in acknowledgment.
"Do you finally remember?" The girl smiled with relief, "You left after taking me to the hospital, and I never got the chance to thank you. Over the years, Iāve been trying to find you, but after nearly three years, I never succeeded. I didnāt expect to see you by chance today. Donāt you think itās fate?"
The girl didnāt wait for James Black to respond and added, "Three years, happy to see my lifesaver again."
Jane Sampson sat silently by James Blackās side, listening. Seeing that it didnāt seem to involve her, she sipped the iced cola she had just managed to coax from him.
Even this small gesture did not escape James Blackās notice.
He reached over and snatched the bottle from her hand, "One second without watching you, and you can finish a whole bottle in one second."
