Because they were going to eat, Jane Sampson simply wiped off her lipstick with a wet wipe. After she finished tidying up, James Black had also washed his face and come out.
On the road to the dining hall, Jane Sampson hooked James Blackās arm, walking next to him, humming a tune in a good mood.
But James Black seemed very busy, as he was looking at his mobile phone as soon as he came down from the building.
It wasnāt until the two were almost at the dining hall doorway that James Black put his mobile phone away, squeezed Jane Sampsonās palm, and lowered his voice to say, "I just checked, over the course of one year there are these holidays. After today itās Womenās Day, after Womenās Day is Arbor Day, then April Foolās Day, followed by Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Youth Day..."
"Hold on, that!" Jane Sampson directly interrupted James Black, "Youāve been looking at that on your mobile phone the whole way?"
James Black glanced at Jane Sampson and continued, "After Youth Day comes Nurseās Day, Motherās Day, Childrenās Day, Fatherās Day, and Dragon Boat Festival. These are all the holidays in the first half of the year."
Saying this, James Black paused for a moment, then continued, "In the second half of the year the first day is Party Founding Day, followed by Army Day, Chinese Valentineās Day, Hungry Ghost Festival, Teacherās Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, Double Ninth Festival, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas, plus New Yearās Day in January and the Lantern Festival."
"..." Jane Sampson was at a loss for words for half a day.
Itās really impressive that James Black managed to go through the calendar and recite every holiday he could find.
Seeing Jane Sampson not speaking, James Black murmured, "Whatās with your expression?"
A constipated expression, what else could it be?
James Blackās routine is too much.
And too deep.
She can never handle it.
"Iām reminding you how many holidays there are in a year, reminding you not to make too few cards." James Black said this and clicked his tongue as if feeling a bit regretful, "Although there are only these few holidays in a year, indeed it is a bit too few."
"Only these few?" By now Jane Sampson still hadnāt figured out how many holidays James Black had just rattled off.
This is someone who even counts holidays like Tomb Sweeping Day, Double Ninth Festival, and Hungry Ghost Festival, yet he still complains that there arenāt enough holidays in a year?
"Iām saying, only major holidays will have cards sent to you." Jane Sampson seriously told James Black, "Those like Teacherās Day, and so on, donāt count."
Mind you, at first Jane Sampson only thought of sending cards for Chinese Valentineās Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Spring Festival.
Add maybe Army Day and Party Founding Day.
Hmm, at most, add National Day.
Thatās it.
But unexpectedly, James Black includes every single one.
She didnāt even bother with those like Hungry Ghost Festival.
And whatās with that April Foolās Day?
"Since itās a holiday, there isnāt such thing as not counting it, you canāt favor one over the other." James Black didnāt accept any rebuttal, holding Jane Sampsonās soft hand, queued up for food.
After having Chinese medicine treatments for a while, Jane Sampsonās hand recently had finally warmed up a bit.
Thinking of this, James Black suddenly remembered another thing.
"Did you bring your Chinese medicine for noon?" James Black asked.
Without waiting for Jane Sampson to speak, James Black quickly continued, "If you forgot, just call your assistant now to have it sent to the guard teamās doorway, Iāll go pick it up for you."
This sentence directly choked back Jane Sampsonās words of forgetting.
"I brought it, I brought it," Jane Sampson hurriedly said, really afraid James Black would call Lucy Brisk.
And the medicine was indeed in her car.
