Seeing the person coming in, Julie Samptonās smile turned even colder, "Today, it seems the sun really has risen from the west; the prideful Chip Family has surprisingly lowered themselves to visit my ward."
Her words caused the two people walking in from the doorway to pause slightly, looking a bit embarrassed.
But it was just a fleeting moment.
The two from the Chip Family quickly regained their composure, walked in with a stiff face, and made sure to close the door to the ward behind them.
"What are you here for? We have nothing to say to you!" Bright Sampton immediately stood in front of the sickbed, blocking the two from the Chip Family, "Leave!"
"We are here to discuss something with Julie Sampton, it has nothing to do with you." Father Chip reached out and directly pushed Bright Sampton aside, then pulled his wife over to the sickbed where Julie Sampton lay, "Did you really call the police? I want you to withdraw the case immediately! Fifty Million! Weāll give you Fifty Million, just drop the case!"
"Julie Sampton, I hope you consider this carefully. The Sampton Clan has already been acquired by another company, and Iāve heard your father no longer acknowledges you as his daughter. Youāre hospitalized, and he hasnāt come to see you at all. My son may have injured someone, but even if he gets caught, he will inevitably serve time, but with the Chip Familyās connections, heāll be out in two or three years at most. But itās different for you; if you donāt even want the money, youāll be left with nothing."
Mrs. Chip looked at Julie Samptonās pale face and continued, "Julie Sampton, I have always thought you were a clever person. So, you should be clear about how to settle this account, right? Take the Fifty Million, and youāll never have to worry about food and drink for the rest of your life."
"Get out!" Bright Sampton raised his hand and pointed toward the doorway, "I already said, we donāt want a single cent from the Chip Family, get out! If you donāt leave, Iāll call the reporters!"
Neither Father Chip nor Mrs. Chip paid any attention to Bright Sampton. In their view, Bright Sampton was just an inexperienced little child. The main issue was still Julie Samptonās attitude.
Seeing Julie Sampton lying in the bed with her eyes closed, ignoring them, Father Chip became more anxious. He exchanged a glance with his wife, finally gritting his teeth, and said, "Julie Sampton, Eighty Million, this is the highest price we can offer, Eighty Million to drop the case. Itās also to buy the life of the child in your belly, so you wouldnāt be at a loss, right?"
Only then did Julie Sampton from the sickbed slowly open her eyes.
She began to speak.
"Alright, Eighty Million, when the money is in my account, Iāll drop the case." She spoke with a cold voice.
"Julie Sampton, are you crazy?" Bright Sampton turned his head incredulously to look at Julie Sampton.
Father Chip, afraid that Julie Sampton might be persuaded by Bright Sampton, immediately agreed, "Alright! Iāll have someone transfer it to you right away."
Even Julie Samptonās expression changed slightly this time; Eighty Million was truly no small sum.
Seeing Father Chip without hesitation, Julie Sampton sat up from the bed and took out her bank card from her purse and handed it to Father Chip, "Transfer it to this card."
Father Chip took the card and left the ward directly to make a call outside in a place with no one around.
Fifteen minutes later, though Father Chip had not come in yet, the inbound notification from Julie Samptonās mobile banking arrived first.
In two transactions, to two accounts, transferring Forty Million into her bank card at a time.
Holding the mobile phone and reading the bank text message, Julie Sampton laughed bit by bit, with a very mocking smile.
