"Come on, thatâs impossible." Jane Sampson patted Mair Williamsâ shoulder, "A black face is just someone whoâs cold on the outside but warm on the inside. Youâll see, when the child is born, heâll be even happier than you."
Jane Sampson was busy with the film crew, and seeing that Mair Williams was fine here, she waited for Mair Williamsâ agent and another assistant to arrive before heading back to the film crew with Coco Edwards.
Meanwhile, over at the office.
Liam Woody was standing there, still dazed after hanging up the phone.
"What happened? Is it serious?" James Black stood up from behind the table and asked concernedly.
His eyes moved slightly; it seemed like he just heard Liam Woody mention pregnancy or something about a child?
"Chief, can you expedite my marriage application? Iâm eager to register, and once Amelia Delight returns, I want to take her to the Civil Affairs Office and get the marriage certificate first."
The first thing Liam Woody did after coming to his senses was to hurry James Black.
"Itâs in process." James Black nodded, Liam Woodyâs marriage application was submitted half a month ago, barring any surprises, it should be approved in a few days.
"Ameliaâs pregnant, the child is two months along already, and in less than eight months, Iâll be a daddy." Liam Woodyâs face was full of joy, "The child really came unexpectedly, neither Amelia nor I were prepared. Pregnancy is tiring for Amelia. During pregnancy, a wedding certainly canât be held, so Iâm thinking weâll get the certificate first, and after the babyâs born, weâll have the wedding feast."
After speaking, Liam Woody clenched his fists and couldnât help but cheer in front of James Black.
This uncontrollable excitement made Liam Woody as happy as a child, completely lacking his usual composure.
James Black raised his eyebrows, Mair Williams is pregnant?
Tsk.
Itâs really something to be envious of.
Looking at Liam Woody in front of him, James Black inexplicably found him somewhat annoying.
"To celebrate your upcoming double happiness..." James Black slowly began to speak.
But before he could finish, Liam Woody quickly continued, saying, "The old rule, I know! Tonight, Iâm treating everyone to drinks!"
James Black chuckled.
"To celebrate your upcoming double happiness, how about a thirty-kilometer cross-country run with a thirty-kilo load to celebrate?" James Black said, "Once youâre done running, Iâll catch up with you in the dining hall."
After saying this, James Black turned and left the office.
Liam Woody stood there, slack-jawed.
Is this devilish way the Chiefâs MO for celebration?
Liam Woody inexplicably felt that the Chief might be a bit jealous of him?
Even though the celebration method was a bit unusual, Liam Woody was happily running out of James Blackâs office, wind in his step, smile on his face, spreading the good news to his teammates.
James Black stood in the hallway outside the office, blowing in the wind to try to calm down.
But it didnât help much.
He watched Liam Woody run off like the foolish son of a landlord, pulled out his mobile phone, and made a call to Jane Sampson.
The phone rang a few times and Jane Sampson picked up.
From the sound of it, she was in the car on her way back to the film crew from the hospital.
"Whatâs up?" Jane Sampson answered the phone, laughing heartedly.
"Your best friend is pregnant, how do you feel about that?" James Black asked.
What kind of weird question is this?
Jane Sampson looked at the mobile phone screen puzzled for a second, why does her best friend being pregnant mean she has to have any feelings?
"Iâm happy for her." Jane Sampson replied.
