Jane Sampson gleefully clung to his back, laughing triumphantly.
"She sure lives up to being my sister." Bright Sampton looked impressed, "This is probably like pulling whiskers from a tigerās face, right?"
"Anyway, we gentlemen donāt get that kind of treatment." Peter Gingery shrugged his shoulders, "My brother dotes on little Jane, but I donāt have the guts to try it."
If he tried jumping on James Blackās back, James Black would pin him down and rub him across the ground.
James Black only let Jane Sampson down on the ground when they reached downstairs, Jane Sampson laughed like an old woman, grabbing James Blackās wrist, she stood there grinning widely, her smile so big you couldnāt see her eyes.
"These two kids, they really know how to have fun." Aunt watched from the side feeling amused, it was rare for someone like James Black to let Jane Sampson be so boisterous around him.
Before, if Peter Gingery sat casually, James Black would furrow his eyebrows and lecture him a bit.
Knowing Peter Gingery and Bright Sampton were also coming tonight, Aunt prepared a whole tabletop full of dishes.
Every dish on the table was something someone loved, it was the result of Auntās hard work all afternoon.
"Thank you, Aunt." Peter Gingery happily picked up a piece of fish with his chopsticks, then turned and asked Jane Sampson, "When are you cooking next? I kind of miss your spicy beef, tsk tsk tsk, that flavor, itās amazing."
"Just wait for it." James Black replied to Peter Gingery for Jane Sampson, clearly, James Black recently was not willing to let Jane Sampson enter the kitchen and exert herself.
Father Gingery and Brooke Black sat next to Old Master Black, hearing Peter Gingeryās words, Father Gingery also chimed in, "Jane, next time you cook, save some for me too. Iāll take it to the company, put it in the fridge, and eat it with lunch."
"You canāt forget mine." Brooke Black sighed, "There are quite a few restaurants near the company, but Iāve eaten there for several decades, no delicacy has any taste anymore, the staff canteenās meal every day, sometimes I do miss your spicy beef."
"Then tomorrow, tomorrow morning when Aunt goes shopping, Aunt, help me buy a few pounds of fresh beef back, while Iām not back with the film crew, Iāll make some for everyone to keep in the house." Jane Sampson wasnāt so delicate, making some food didnāt tire her at all.
Besides, in the Black Residence, thereās Aunt to help her, so itās even easier.
"Alright." Aunt agreed, "Iāll go early and buy the freshest beef tomorrow."
James Black thought for a moment and added, "Buy more."
When Father Gingery heard, he laughed, "Why, buy more, arenāt you worried about exhausting your darling?"
James Black lowered his head to eat a bite as if he didnāt see, hearing Jane Sampson secretly laughing next to him, James Black picked up a chopstick of shredded carrots and put it in her bowl, "Donāt be picky."
"???!!!"
Jane Sampson stared at James Black with a sulking face.
Ugh, canāt even laugh, huh?
"Iāll eat! Iāll eat!" Peter Gingery swiftly extended his bowl to rescue Jane Sampson.
But James Black gave him a glance and said to him, "Thereās a whole plate on the table, isnāt it enough for you?"
"Good son, come, eat more." Brooke Black gave Peter Gingery a chopstick of shredded carrots.
Jane Sampsonās happy expression hadnāt even faded before she received a helpless gaze from Peter Gingery.
Jane Sampson held her bowl, looking left and right, Bright Sampton pretended to play dead, not daring to meet her gaze.
Jane Sampson pouted, directly picking up the few strands of shredded carrots James Black had put in her bowl and tossing them back into James Blackās bowl, "Whoever picks it, eats it! Iām not eating it!"
