"Hohoho.. Son-Kai, well arenāt you a sight for sore eyes." A boisterous laugh sounded from right behind us, an excited voice following soon after..
"Allekai.." Malachiās father laughed, turning around to welcome the approaching group.
It was, as expected, a group of apes, only these ones had silver fur, just like Malachiās mother.
The leading ape, the one that had just laughed with no restraint, was arguably just as large as Son-Kai himself, only he had a bit more refined features than those of the Brutish looking Son-Kai..
Both apes clasped hands as they laughed.
I couldnāt help wondering what was so funny about anything going on, monkey business as always, was confusing..
"And is that my little nephew Kai?" The man turned towards Malachi, who had been frozen like a statue since the group appeared..
Following the frozen monkeyās gaze, I finally found the source of his stupefaction.
Needless to say, it was a silver furred slender ape, she stood at about 7ft5, yes, same height as me, taller than even the short ass monkey, her facial features were quite pretty, if youāre into hairy faces and pointy canines, but for a monkey, she was, at least not horrible to look at.
Now, her proportions were probably what had my boy frozen like a stick, her breasts were massive, the black armor she had on not doing anything to hide those protruding peaks, as for her monkey behind? Yea, just like all the other apes Iāve seen, she was packing, only hers looked more aesthetically pleasing.
For a monkey, I could perfectly understand why Malachi had been stunned speechless, nevertheless..
"Yo.. snap out of it.." I nudged the frozen monkey awake.
"Huh.. what.. what happened?"
"You were frozen like a stick."
"Fuck! It happened again? My life is ruined...."
The monkey groaned, dragging an arm down his furry face.
"Again?"
"Well, are you just going to stand there or are you going to finally greet your uncle?" The silver furred ape interrupted our little conversation before I could ask for any more information..
"Uh.. sorry about that uncle Kai, I was just a bit.."
"A but stunned by sorin once again huh? Donāt worry boy, Iāve got your back."
"Urghh.. old fuck, please donāt say that .."
"Huh? Seems Iāll have to let your mother know youāre cussing again.."
"You wouldnāt!"
"Try me.."
"Fuck!" The monkey cussed.
Gotta say, I was having fun engaging with these guys, other than the fact that they loved adding "Kai" to their names, they were pretty chill, at least more chill than bum ass humans..
"Now give uncle a hug.."
"Old fuck please..
"Someone call Shafrin for me.."
.....
..
"Haaa... you win.." Malachi reluctantly hugged his massive uncle, "one day, someday, Iāll be strong enough to pull out your monkey beard." The monkey swore, finally escaping his uncleās clutches..
"Hohohoho.... Thatāll be a long, long time from now little Kai." The man just laughed it off..
Ruuuummmbbllleeeeeee!!!!!
Before the conversation could continue, the entire place shook violently...
"Itās happening." Son-Kaiās face went solemn, as all around us, all the older monkeys adopted solemn expressions, attention locked unto the massive gates that were the cause of all the tremors..
"Son-Kai,
Redstoneās
son will be entering as well." Allekai spoke up grimly..
"And what has that cowardly bastardās son entering have to do with anything!" Malachiās father replied indifferently, though I caught a subtle hint of dissatisfaction in his voice..
"I hear heās got help from the
Twilight family."
"How!" The monkeyās composure faltered..
"And heās not the only one, the
Darkclaw, Ironvein and Thundercrest,
they all seemed to have gotten help from one ancient family or some other forces from the central continent."
Son-Kaiās expression went dark.
Seeing their interactions, I got curious..
"Who are these people you keep mentioning?"
"And you are?" Allekai turned towards me, obviously displeased someone had interrupted their conversation.
"Heās Malachiās friend, theyāll be entering together." Son-Kai waved off the old monkeyās aggression..
"I see." Allekai finally ignored me.
Just when I was thinking I wouldnāt be getting any answers, "theyāre rival clans, those whose heirs are the most favored to retrieve the kingās legacy." Son-Kai replied.
"Oh." Was all I could say.
I could understand why theyād suddenly turned serious.
If the favored contenders were receiving help from powers in the central continent, then wouldnāt that have placed their already favorable positions into something even more assured?
"Heh!" A derisive chuckle sounded out, breaking the solemn atmosphere.
All eyes turned towards Malachi.
The Ape was currently smiling, a feral, nefarious grin, his body radiating an intense battle lust, golden eyes shifting colors intermittently, one moment gold, the other a bloody crimson.
"Why are you old men so bothered." The monkeyās voice came out deep, powerful.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of he silver furred female ape, blushing? Do apes blush? I didnāt know, all I knew was, Malachiās current look was doing its work, and I could understand why, he looked nothing like the goofy ape Iād been acquainted with.
"Atta boy, go get yourself a dame.." I chuckled under my breath, unbothered by the entire situation...
"I already said it before, this, is a race to determine the future monkey king, and no one, no outsider, Is going to change that."
"But Iām an outsider though?"
"Damn it, you self centered bastard!! Canāt you let me have one moment?" His expression faltered immediately..
Screee..
"The monkey is pretty dumb.."
Leo drawled lazily..
"I know right? Tryna sound tuff when he himself has an outsider beside him, he should work on his monologues a bit more."
"Indeed, although he did look the part."
"Yea, couldāve sold it off more if he just grinned and kept quiet, but the guy just had to open his mouth... haaa..." suddenly both me and Leo were on the same page.
"You... you... you motherfuckers!! Iāll kill you..."
Wham....
"Ooofff....."
"Thatās nasty...."
"Is he... is he dead?"
Looking at the figure of Malachi, face first in the dirt, with a massive claw mark in the back of his head, the crowd couldnāt help worrying..
"Ugghhhhh..."
"Heās alive!"
"Thank goodness." The crowd gave a collective sigh of relief.
"Heh. Old man, donāt worry."
Son-Kai and everyone suddenly focused on me.
"Just like the monkey was trying to say." I smiled, letting the moment hang.
"In this inheritance race, thereās no one who can stop him from taking that crown, be they monkeys or those from other forces, their attempts are doomed to fail."
"Bold words young man, do you even know who it is youāre dealing with? Do you understand the level of geniuses you will be facing?" Allekai scoffed.
"It doesnāt matter old man."
I grinned, "it never has, it never will."
"Because."
I spread my arms dramatically, "I am here!"
Rummbleeeeeeeeee!!!
A final rumble signified the opening of the gates, an ancient voice echoing all around..
"THE GATES HAVE OPENED, LET THE RACE... BEGIN!!!"
"Time to teach monkeys how to jump.."
