Chapter 776 -776: Sending You to Hell
The door to the third underground floor opened, and a heavy smell of blood wafted out. Caleb Mamet walked in with long strides.
Still wearing his light-colored suit, the elegant and prestigious gentleman appeared in the dark and damp underground prison. He looked indifferently at the man chained by his hands and feet, âI didnât expect Boyd Drewâs subordinate to be so tough.â
The man lay on the ground, his body covered in blood, laughing hysterically, âJust kill me! Thereâs no way Iâm going to tell you a thing! You vicious bastard, youâll end up in hell sooner or later!â
Caleb snorted. He never bothered to pretend in front of outsiders, only acting gentle in front of Mrs. Mamet. Had his recent displays of gentleness made others forget his once ruthless methods?
He lazily sat down on a chair, his eyes cold as he stared at the man. His thin lips parted slightly, âYou donât actually think youâre important to me, do you? So important that I wouldnât kill you?â
The man on the ground stiffened, his eyes filled with terror. Then, he erupted in a frantic roar.
Calebâs expression remained calm, not reacting to the roar. He spoke unhurriedly, âDo you think Boyd Drew knows about the pain youâve endured?â
The man lay on the ground, his body convulsing violently, âAahâŠ!!â
âI just want to know the truth behind Madam Winni Drewâs death all those years ago. If you donât want to talk, thatâs fine. Iâll find out someday anyway.â Calebâs voice was indifferent as if discussing a trivial matter.
âSince youâre not willing to cooperate, I guess Iâll have to send you to hell!â
The man lifted his eyes to meet Calebâs cold gaze, knowing that he was about to face death. He let out a hysterical roar, his voice echoing through the entire dungeon.
Caleb knew the man wouldnât say anything else and gradually lost patience. He turned to leave.
Suddenly, the man laughed sinisterly, âCaleb! Iâve taken lives, so I deserve to go to hell! But what about you? Do you think youâre a good person? When you die, youâre going to suffer even more than me! Youâll get your comeuppance someday!â
Upon hearing this, Sean Price shuddered and wanted to step forward to cover the manâs mouth.
But Caleb waved his hand calmly, âLet him talk.â
âDonât think I donât know what youâve done! You set Boyd Drew up, making the Drew family decline bit by bit under his watch. Youâre a sly and cunning villain!â The man shouted, âI donât know how long Iâve been locked in this dark dungeon by you, tortured until Iâm half-dead. There must be others here whoâve suffered inhuman torment just like me! Youâre responsible for so many livesâŠâ
He paused before suddenly bursting into laughter, âYouâre ruthless and vicious, but you have such a handsome face that was enough to deceive Mrs. Mamet, making her believe youâre a gentle man. What a pity! Your true colors will be exposed eventually. What do you think her reaction will be when she learns the truth?â
Caleb pressed his lips together, his eyes deep and his expression unchanged. The next moment, the manâs mockery intensified.
âYour tender Mrs. Mamet has no idea how vicious a man you are. When that delicate woman learns the truth, will she break down and stay away from you out of fear? Or will she depart this world just like Miss Drew? HahahaâŠâ
Caleb: ââŠâ Was this all that Boyd Drewâs subordinate could say?
He glanced at Sean Price, thinking that this man was trying to provoke him in such a childish way.
These people clearly didnât understand Mrs. Mamet well enough. Beneath her delicate exterior was a heart just as resilient as his own â what did she have to be afraid of?
âŠ
That evening, Elijah Flack and Quine Heninger paid a visit.
The housekeeper and Steve Price were curious about Quine. The Lingo Pavilion Master was just as aloof and gorgeous as the rumors said, with light gray eyes that looked like those of a prince from a foreign land.
The two hurried over respectfully, âMister Flack, Mr. Heninger, welcome! Please, have a seat. Mrs. Mamet is still upstairs, sheâll be down in just a moment.â
It wasnât long before Xaviera Evans hurried down the stairs like a butterfly, âBig brother! Second brother!â
Quine and Elijahâs mouths twitched slightly. Wasnât Xaviera supposed to be acting fragile? Which fragile girl would just fly down the stairs like that?
Elijahâs eyes were full of gentleness as he looked at her, âXaviera, did Tracy Swift give you trouble again today?â
