Suddenly, Xaviera Evans sobbed and said weakly, “I’ll be fine. For the sake of those kidnapped women, even if I’m terrified, I’ll cooperate with your investigation. Besides, I secretly recorded the kidnappers’ phone calls, which might help you crack the case earlier!”

“I was too scared at the time, though, so I don’t know if I recorded everything clearly.” After that, Xaviera pulled out a recorder from her pocket. Dylan Wycoff took the recorder, and his face instantly changed.

In the recording, the voices of the Swift family members could be heard, admitting to their human trafficking activities. They had already made a fortune and showed no signs of stopping.

Dylan’s lips trembled, and his face turned dark and terrifying. “Mrs. Mamet, you risked your life to make this recording, providing crucial evidence for our investigation. I thank you on behalf of all the victims.”

Xaviera looked up in surprise.

“Your eyes are full of guilt right now. Are you thinking that if only you had found this place earlier, fewer girls would have suffered? I’m also curious why the usually gentle and weak Mrs. Mamet took such a risk this time.”

“I heard people talk about Miss Evans before. Most of it is not good. They say you are nothing but a pretty face with a bad personality. But now, after meeting you, I know that those rumors are unreliable.”

“You must’ve completed many missions, with the protection of Lingo Pavilion’s elite. You wouldn’t be scared. But Caleb can’t let you put yourself in harm’s way.”
