Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100: Framing Me for Shares
The executive at the Drew Corporation sternly rebuked, "Mrs. Mamet, do you need us to tell you what you and Mr. Caleb Mamet have done? You should be ashamed of your actions!"
Xaviera Evans smoothed her hair, indifferent, "So, what have I done?"
Vivian Drewâs heart was pounding. She glanced around nervously seeing their surroundings were filled with Drew Corporation personnel and some business partners who, upon hearing the commotion, began to look over curiously.
At that moment, all Vivian wanted was to stop Xaviera from speaking, to whisk her away immediately, so she wouldnât spout nonsense in front of everyone, which would surely bring negative attention to the Drew family.
However, the executive didnât expect Xaviera to have the audacity to fire back a question. Infuriated, he ignored Vivianâs attempt to intervene and hollered right back, "Stop playing dumb! Do you want us to spell it out for you? Fine! Iâll explain it, letâs see how you continue pretending!"
"Mrs. Mamet, it was you and Mr. Mamet that forced Mr. Drew to give up 5% of his shares and caused Mr. Drew to fall ill. You disregarded family bonds, and all you cared about was money. Donât you deny it now! Those shares belong to the Drew family, by what right did you take them away?"
Once the accusing man finished shouting, the room fell silent. The conference attendees who were passing by came closer to get a better look at what was happening. Before long, they became the focal point of the crowd.
Xaviera silently watched the high-ranking executive at the Drew Corporation berate her, but she didnât show the slightest bit of anger. Instead, the corner of her lips lifted into a smirk.
Upon seeing her smile, Vivian could sense impending disaster. However, all Xaviera did was lift her head, revealing her stunning features and she gave Vivian a faint smile. Although her smile was captivating, it seemed eerie in Vivianâs eyes.
Vivian suddenly realized what was about to happen, and she tried to step forward and intervene, but it was too late. Xaviera asked nonchalantly, "What shares?"
"Ah, I remember now! Itâs the shares Boyd Drew lost to me in a bet! So are all of you here to scold me about these measly shares? But I came here specifically about Winifred Drew!"
As soon as she mentioned Winifred Drew again, the executives of the Drew Corporation exploded in anger, "Stop pretending! Everyone knows you came for the shares! Mr. Drew fell ill, and you came to harass Miss Wendy Drew! Have you no humanity? Iâll tell you right now; weâre not giving you the shares, what can you do about it? If you dare, sue us in court!"
With her eyebrows furrowed, Xaviera spoke softly, "But I was talking about Winifred..."
The provocative executive interrupted, "Even at a time like this, Mrs. Mamet, youâre still using Winifred Drew as your shield? If youâre scared of ruining your reputation, then announce that youâll give up the 5% shares, and apologize to Mr. Drew and Director Drew. Donât think you can just pretend you donât know..."
"So you donât want to give me the 5% shares!" Xaviera mused aloud.
The executive flaunted a victorious smile, thinking Xaviera finally admitted to everything, but the very next secondâ
Xaviera calmly said, "So the Drew family orchestrated Winifred Drew to set traps for me multiple times, just so I would give up these 5% shares!"
Time seemed to freeze in that moment.
Everyone was left in astonishment. They were all confused, what did she mean by saying the Drew family used Winifred Drew to frame her? Is Winifred Drew really a part of the Drew family?
"Nonsense!" The executive immediately heatedly retorted.
Xaviera, not wishing to waste any more time, promptly took out her phone and pressed the play button. Out came Winifred Drewâs voice.
Vivianâs face turned green. Without concern for her image or the surrounding spectators, she tried to snatch the phone away, "Give it to me!"
Xaviera skillfully dodged and lifted her phone over her head. The voice from the phone clearly reached everyoneâs ears.
ââMadam Rome, please think carefully! If Mr. Rome calls off the engagement because of Xaviera Evans, then thatâs his problem. But if Xaviera seduces Mr. Rome, causing his fiancĂ©e to call off the engagement out of anger, then Xaviera will be seen as a homewrecker.â
ââMr. Lentz, how could this artwork be done by an amateur? Has Xaviera cheated? So, this work belongs to Mr. Lance Steel?â
ââMr. Lentz, this matter is very serious. As an impartial person, if you reveal her fraud during the competition, the students would idolize you. Youâre the only one capable of taking this on.â
The instigating words uttered by Winifred Drew played for all to hear. The experienced businessmen present could certainly understand the implications in her words.
