Chapter 1202: Chapter 1202: Finding the Real Nidya Hughes
Lowen Clubhouse.
Xaviera Evans lazily lay on the sofa in the study, browsing her phone. Caleb Mamet just finished taking a shower and walked out, wearing a loose white bathrobe. His wet hair hung down, making him look even more gentle.
He slightly bent down, smiled softly, "Xaviera, what are you looking at?"
Xaviera had just received a message from Mrs. Salt. She had only read the first few lines when she heard Calebâs voice coming from above. She instinctively locked the screen.
Caleb glanced at the phone screen and chuckled, "Why are you hiding it? I didnât say I was going to look. But it seems that Xaviera is very concerned about Nidya Hughes and Zora Hughesâ recent situation?"
Xaviera hurriedly hid the phone behind her back and gave an awkward smile.
Caleb showed a triumphant smile, and Xaviera realized that when Caleb leaned over, she had already locked the screen. The text on the phone screen was too small for Caleb to see clearly, so what he just said was deliberately tricking her!
Xaviera: "..."
What a scheming man! Zora Hughesâs tricks were nothing compared to him!
Xaviera didnât care whether he knew or not, and pretended to be confused: "Nidya Hughes? Yeah! Itâs about time for them to come out too!"
Caleb reached out and gently pinched her chin, forcing her to look up. A smile flickered at the corner of his mouth, and he raised an eyebrow, his eyes filled with a hint of ridicule, "What are you pretending for?"
Xavieraâs face suddenly stiffened, "..."
She hesitated for a few seconds, quickly adjusted her emotions, pushed his hand away, and said indifferently, "Iâm preparing to serve them with the lawsuit, of course I have to pay attention. Is there a problem?"
"No problem, whatâs Mrs. Mametâs plan next?" Caleb asked softly.
Xaviera jumped up abruptly, refuting with a serious face, "Caleb, what do you mean? Do you think Iâm going to scheme against them?"
Caleb looked at her with a meaningful smile, "Mrs. Mamet, donât be so nervous. It makes you look guilty!"
Xavieraâs mouth twitched slightly. Indeed, she couldnât hide anything from Caleb. It seemed she had no secrets in front of him!
Caleb sat down beside her, held her in his arms, and gently pinched her cheek, "Mrs. Mamet, we are husband and wife. You can be more casual in front of me. You donât have to hide anything. Even if you pretend to be confused, I can still see through it."
Xaviera glared at him playfully and had to answer truthfully, "I want to investigate Nidya Hughesâs identity. I have to uncover this secret."
Calebâs eyes flashed, and he looked at her deeply, speaking in a low voice, "Didnât you try it last time during hypnosis, and she still believes she is Nidya Hughes."
Indeed it was true, but Xaviera still had a premonition that the person in front of her was not the real Nidya Hughes. She didnât know why, so she wanted to investigate.
She thought carefully, since there was no discovery under Nidya Hughesâs hypnotism, she would find an opportunity to hypnotize the other members of the Hughes family, trying each person one by one, and there might be clues.
"Actually, you have already confirmed that she is not the real Nidya Hughes. No matter how you probe, itâs meaningless. What you lack now is evidence." Caleb said unhurriedly.
"I canât be sure this is correct, after all, itâs just my intuition." Xaviera felt a bit helpless.
Caleb looked at her with a gentle expression, "Your intuition wonât be wrong. What we lack is just a way to find evidence."
"DNA identification?" Xaviera looked up.
Caleb shook his head, "The Russell family has been suspicious of her identity for years and has secretly checked it out. However, they found nothing, which means Nidya Hughes has a way to deal with it. Moreover, itâs easy for the Hughes family to fake DNA identification. Even if we get the identification, they will accuse us of falsifying it and deny it vehemently."
When he was revealed to be the Mamet familyâs illegitimate child, he also thought about this method, but it didnât work at all. The Hughes family was even more shameless than the Mamet family. Without concrete evidence, they would never admit there was a problem with Nidya Hughesâs identity and would bite back at Xaviera.
Xaviera nodded. She was convinced that the person in front of her was not the real Nidya Hughes, and so did the Russell family. A well-behaved and sensible child would never become ruthless and unfeeling overnight, let alone snatch away her sisterâs fiancĂ© after growing up!
Nidya Hughesâs sharp, spicy personality had no resemblance to that of the once-kind child, but was exactly like Madam Hughes. Everyone could see the problem, but there was no evidence to prove that she was not Nidya Hughes.
In order to find the real Nidya Hughes, she must formulate a detailed plan.
