"There’s a decent Western restaurant nearby; it’s known for its desserts. Shall we go and try?"

Xaviera without even lifting her eyelids, gave a cold response, "I’m sorry, I’m busy, I don’t have the time."

Fiona looked surprised, "Are you working here, Mrs. Mamet?"

The designer explained, "Xaviera... I mean, Mrs. Mamet is our chief designer. Miss Reiser, didn’t you know?"

Fiona gave a meaning smile then glanced at her assistant. On cue, Assistant Bob murmured, "Miss, don’t forget what the chairman said, it would be better to inform them."

Fiona seemed hesitant, laughed it off and said, "It’s fine."

Bob looked troubled, "But... Before you came, the chairman specifically mentioned that if the jewelry produced by Glaze in collaboration with the Mamet Corporation doesn’t meet expectations, the Reiser Group will withdraw from competition."

Although his voice was low, those nearby heard it loud and clear. Everyone looked grim; the Reiser family’s message was clear - if they weren’t up to the mark, the Reisers would pull out of the partnership.

There were many companies competing, but the Reiser Group was an unmistakable presence. Everyone knew about the past between its chairman and also the president. If their lack of ability led to the Reisers pulling out, could they continue to work at the Mamet Corporation?
