Chapter 1342: Chapter 1342: Never to Meet Again in This Life
"I think Miss Powell wants to deal with Xaviera Evans because Xavieraâs appearance threatens her status or interests. To threaten a noble lady, Xaviera must not be an ordinary person."
Wesley Taylor was bewildered, but Mrs. Taylor didnât elaborate further.
Mrs. Taylor lowered her gaze, her eyes suddenly turning cold, "I donât care whether Xaviera is alive or dead, or who she has grievances with. But if Caleb Mamet dares to come back, I will absolutely not let him off!"
After finishing her work, Xaviera returned to Lowen Clubhouse and laid down comfortably on a rocking chair in the back garden.
Quine Heninger flashed over, jumping down from the wall and landing lightly beside her, "Xaviera, youâve been independent since childhood, and you rarely tell us your private matters, so Iâm not too sure whether you left five or six years ago or not."
Xaviera had expected this result, so she wasnât surprised. She casually waved her hand, "Brother, is this little matter worth you making a special trip for? I just had a dream. Although it felt real, itâs not necessary to take it so seriously. I just really want to know who the man in the dream is."
Quine Heningerâs eyes fell upon Xaviera, who was lying in the rocking chair, her white skin glowing, her eyes half-open, looking like a lazy, drowsy kitten, adorable and charming. His gaze was soft, and he whispered, "Since we canât find out, thereâs no need to bother yourself with it."
His slender and cold fingers touched her cheek gently- a brief touch before leaving. Quine Heninger leaned forward slightly, his breath cool, "Xaviera, I couldnât find the man from your dream, but thereâs someone you should remember."
"Who?" Xaviera looked up, her eyes bright and sparkling.
Quine Heninger hesitated slightly, "The person you met when Derek Evans sent you to the countryside."
Xavieraâs eyes changed, and she knew who Quine Heninger was talking about.
"You knew him at the time. He was also abandoned by his family and sent to the countryside. You and him..."
"Thatâs all in the past." Xavieraâs expression became unnatural, interrupting Quine Heningerâs words. The lazy kitten from just a moment ago suddenly bristled, her face darkening, "Donât mention him again."
"Xaviera." Quine Heninger called out urgently, "Grandfather took him up the mountain with him at the time, but I didnât expect him to do such a thing. You almost gave up studying medicine because of this. I know youâve never forgotten him!"
Xaviera frowned, her tone unhappy, "I said, donât mention him! He deceived me into the Novak family then just to use me. Later, he tried to deceive Grandfatherâs medical skills. In the end, after his true intentions were exposed, he almost killed Grandfather. Why would I remember such an ungrateful, unloyal person?"
There was a hint of sorrow in Quine Heningerâs eyes, probably wanting to comfort Xaviera. He tried to make his voice gentle, "Xaviera, I investigated him and found some clues."
Xaviera had completely hated that man by now and didnât want to hear any news about him.
After a moment of silence, Quine Heninger spoke with cold eyes, "After you left the Novak family, he searched everywhere for you. When he couldnât find you, he left a letter."
Xaviera silently rolled her eyes, deeply disgusted in her heart.
"Back then, Grandfather didnât blame him. He just said he wouldnât see him again. I thought weâd never meet again, so I didnât hold him accountable. But... the people from Lingo Pavilion found out that after leaving Libanan, he went to Yittaland."
As soon as Xaviera heard Yittaland, her eyes widened and she suddenly looked at Quine Heninger.
"Now he has become an important figure in the Brooke family. He still has the Novak surname and hasnât changed to Brooke or Taylor, but he is still respected by the entire Brooke family."
Xavieraâs body stiffened, seemingly unable to accept this fact.
Quine Heningerâs tone was icy, "If heâs not from the Brooke family, it would have been almost impossible for him to rise to this position in just a few years."
Xavieraâs breath trembled slightly as she spoke with difficulty, "So, heâs from the Brooke family?"
Quine Heninger nodded, and Xaviera suddenly laughed. She had initially believed that she had no grievances with Mrs. Taylor, but now it seemed she had long-standing grudges with the Brooke family.
She originally thought she would never see that man again in this lifetime, but who knew the Brooke family had to provoke her? Wouldnât they meet again soon?
"Xaviera." Quine Heninger asked tentatively, "Is the man in your dream him?"
