Chapter 1528: Chapter 1528: They Set Up a Trap
Robert Powell held a prestigious status and was once a count in Yittaland, so he received respect and favor wherever he went. He had never been publicly ridiculed like this before. He snapped back loudly, "Regardless of the content of the promise, Miss Cynthia agreed not to pursue it any further. Why did she suddenly go back on her word and let Quinn Powell bear the online abuse?"
"Mr. Powell, did you forget that Miss Cynthia was just competing on stage? She had no time to record a video. Why do you blindly blame her?"
Robert Powell was immediately choked up.
The people at the venue showed disgusted faces towards the Powell family, speaking up in indignation, "Yes! Miss Cynthia has been preparing perfumes all this time and hasnât left the competition area. How could she have time to record videos and send messages?"
"You must not have watched the video carefully. It was Mr. Armstrong that was hosting a party in the nearby banquet hall and accidentally entered the wrong place. He happened to record your conversation and posted it in his friendsâ circle. He didnât intend to make a big fuss. Someone posted about it on the internet, and Quinn Powellâs fans were not convinced. They demanded evidence, and thatâs when the video was posted online. Itâs clearly Quinn Powell and her brainless fansâ fault. What does it have to do with Miss Cynthia?"
"Moreover, even if it was Miss Cynthia who posted the video, she didnât do anything wrong. She was wrongly accused of seducing the judges and endured countless insults. Now that her innocence has been proven, you donât let her clear her name. Itâs obvious that Quinn Powell is jealous and frames her. Madam Powell even launched a personal attack on Cynthia, yet you havenât recognized your own mistakes and still blame Cynthia everywhere. Isnât it too much?"
Robert Powellâs face turned livid as he was scolded, and he couldnât utter a single word while staring at the disgust and contempt in everyoneâs eyes.
Now that the matter has escalated and everyone knows what Quinn did, what should she do?
Quinn Powell had just left the stage when she heard that the video had been uploaded online. Her vision momentarily turned black, and she almost fainted on the spot.
So, her fans demanded evidence, and thatâs why the person posted the video online?
"Miss Powell, I didnât expect that you were such a person. You made a mistake but didnât dare to face the consequences. Instead, you had your family use their power to oppress Miss Cynthia. Just because youâre a two-time perfume contest champion doesnât mean you can do whatever you want. Who knows if your championships are genuine?"
The competitors looked at her disdainfully, and those who used to flatter her now kept their distance, afraid of being implicated.
Quinn Powellâs mind was in chaos, her face pale, leaning on the railing, barely managing to stand.
As people condemned her, she began to understand what happened. She thought that under her familyâs pressure, Xaviera Evans would eventually back down. But she didnât expect Xaviera Evans to outmaneuver her in the end.
How could Mr. Armstrong have walked down the wrong corridor and happened to record that video? It was obviously Xaviera Evansâ doing! Moreover, Sid Armstrong was Yigol Mametâs friend. Without Yigolâs permission, Sid wouldnât have posted the video in his friendsâ circle, would he?
Yigol was Caleb Mametâs younger brother. They were all family. To protect Xaviera Evans, they set up this trap so that the Powell family would pay the price without Xaviera Evans having to get involved!
Only now did Quinn Powell understand that this was Libanan, Caleb Mametâs territory. The Powell family had no chance to exert influence here. They would be completely led by the nose by Caleb Mamet.
As long as Caleb Mamet was by Xaviera Evansâ side, she would never be able to defeat Xaviera Evans. Now, not only had they failed to disgrace Xaviera Evans, but they had also brought shame upon themselves, and the Powell familyâs perfume business had suffered huge losses!
Quinn Powell clenched her fists tightly, her eyes filled with resentment. After a long silence, she suddenly looked up, her eyes regaining calm and revealing a sinister smile.
Caleb Mamet must have been attracted to Xaviera Evans because of her beautiful face. But beauty can fade, and one day, he will grow tired of her. He may just be attracted to Xaviera Evans because of her novelty. Since Quinn Powell was more talented and had more resources than Xaviera Evans, would Caleb Mamet be interested in her?
Quinn Powellâs gaze fell on Caleb Mamet, as if she was planning something. To win Caleb Mametâs favor, she couldnât take the initiative to seduce him. An excellent man like him must have seen women trying to please him many times. If she behaved like other women, how could she pique Caleb Mametâs interest?
Now that things have escalated, and their conversations have been recorded, Quinn Powell knew that no one would believe her regardless of how she defended herself. She just silently endured the surrounding ridicule and contempt.
