The soul of Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao was affected by the Thunder Sound unleashed by the âThunder Sound Bellâ. In itself this wouldnât be too serious, but the problem was that he wasnât fighting Li Yuanba, he was fighting the Duke of Thunder.
The Thunder Sound unleashed by Li Yuanba was only a support. As long as it slowed his reaction speed even the slightest bit, it was already a tremendous victory.
And that was exactly what happened. After Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao was affected, his reaction speed slowed. Originally it was the Duke of Thunder endlessly chasing him, and because they were within his Grotto Heaven, he had never been caught.
Now things were different. With his reactions slower, the Duke of Thunder hurled lightning while using Space Movement to pursue him, and bit by bit his reactions could no longer keep up with the Duke of Thunderâs speed.
With a loud "boom", Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhaoâs body was sent flying and smashed heavily against the wall of the Grotto Heaven.
This was the first time in this battle that he had suffered such a severe blow.
Just now the Duke of Thunder had closed in. This time, in order to attack even faster, he didnât use the ten-finger strike during Space Movement. Instead, at the instant he appeared, he drove his fist into the body of Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao.
Even with the body of a Half-step Great Power, Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao could not withstand a close-range punch from the Duke of Thunder; he was blasted away with a single strike.
It was that punch that jolted Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhaoâs mind somewhat clear. His body rebounded uncontrollably from the wall of the Grotto Heaven, and just as the Duke of Thunder used Space Movement to appear at his side to attack again, his figure vanished from where heâd been.
He sensed the condition of his physical body. That punch had injured him. The injury wasnât extremely serious, but in a battle against an opponent of the Duke of Thunderâs level, any injury would have a huge impact.
Moreover, the brief clarity in his mind brought by the Duke of Thunderâs strike was once again drowned under the influence of the Thunder Sound.
He knew very clearly that if this went on, if he took a few more hits from the Duke of Thunder, he would fall within his own Grotto Heaven.
Taking advantage of that brief clarity, he thought of a way to resolve the situation: he had to kill Li Yuanba.
But in this situation, if he wanted to find an opening to attack Li Yuanba, he would have to bear the Duke of Thunderâs attacks. The Duke of Thunderâs assault was far too pressing.
He clenched his teeth and waved his hand toward Li Yuanbaâs direction.
It was precisely this motion that caused his evasive speed to slow for just an instant, and he was struck in the body once more by the Duke of Thunder.
This time, Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao spat fresh blood from his mouth; this blow had worsened his injuries.
He still felt it was worth it, because by Li Yuanbaâs side, flames had already surged over to engulf him.
Li Yuanba discovered that the flames around him suddenly rose and lunged toward him, but he was unable to evade, because the flames came at him from all directions.
From the flames he could clearly feel the blessing of a Half-step Great Powerâs Flame Rules, and coupled with the fact that the flames here were already top-tier, their power was enough to refine any Peak Great Cultivator.
Fortunately, he had the âStorm Eyeâ. The Vortex Shield formed by the âStorm Eyeâ firmly wrapped around him.
The flames of a Half-step Great Power, and moreover an attack casually thrown out, not a deliberate strike from Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao, were blocked by the Vortex Shield of the âStorm Eyeâ.
The wind-attribute Rules within the âStorm Eyeâ were at the level of a Great Power. If Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao had truly gone all out against Li Yuanba, the Vortex Shield of the âStorm Eyeâ likely wouldnât have been able to hold.
But under the Duke of Thunderâs assault, the time Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao had to unleash an attack was extremely short.
He had originally believed that the attack he sent out would be enough to annihilate a Peak Great Cultivator like Li Yuanba.
He had full confidence in that. Although he also knew about the âStorm Eyeâ, aside from a very few Great Cultivators of the Feiyu Sect, other Cultivators had no idea of the true might of the âStorm Eyeâ.
Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao had underestimated the defense manifested by the âStorm Eyeâ, allowing his attack to be blocked by the Storm Eyeâs Vortex Shield.
At least for a short time, the Cave Heaven Flames would be unable to do anything to Li Yuanba.
Li Yuanba was badly startled. Even separated by the Vortex Shield, he could clearly sense how terrifying those flames were.
He had Spiritual Fire within his body, and his true body had even grasped âNanming Leaving Fireâ, but perhaps Li Shimingâs âNanming Leaving Fireâ was too low-level. Compared to a Half-step Great Power like Zhao Zhao, who had played with fire his entire life, the flames of Li Yuanba and Li Shiming were like children playing house.
Right now, the only thing Li Yuanba could do was continuously increase the energy he was pouring into the âStorm Eyeâ.
On the other side, the Duke of Thunder also intensified his assault on Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao, striving to prevent him from ever again having a chance to launch an attack at Li Yuanba.
Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao no longer had any chance. Under the Duke of Thunderâs pursuit, and with his bodily injuries, he was absolutely certain that if he took one more hit from the Duke of Thunder, his body would be heavily damaged, and he would inevitably fall to the Duke of Thunder.
He struggled to defend against the influence of the Thunder Sound while using Space Movement with all his might, constantly flickering about within the small Grotto Heaven.
The Duke of Thunderâs Space Movement speed was likewise extremely fast. Almost the instant he appeared, the Duke of Thunder would show up beside him in the span of a heartbeat, and then the Duke of Thunderâs attack would fall on the afterimage he left behind as he vanished.
Half-step Great Power Zhao Zhao assessed the situation and realized that his previous decision to attack Li Yuanba had been a mistake.
As for Li Yuanbaâs offensive methods, even the âThunder Sound Bellâsâ attack merely affected him; when it came to actually harming him, that was something it could not accomplish.
