The question had come out of the blue for Raze; he was so stunned by it that he had to take a few moments to think about what was just really said. When thinking about the Golden Globe, Raze was ready to head to Alterian to deal with his goal. To get rid of the Grand Magus.
But he hadnât really thought too far about how he would do that, or about what he was going to leave behind in Pagna. He didnât even think about any of that at all, and now, Safa had asked to come with him.
Carefully, Aurora had sat down on one of the couches and was watching everything. In particular, the facial expressions Raze made when talking to the woman.
âBeatrix and Fixteen sent me to this place. The description they gave me of the girl, that has to be her, that has to be Safa, right?â Aurora thought. âWhy is she asking to go to Alterian with him? That makes no sense, why would she want to go to a completely different world, and travel with the Dark Magus of all things!â
The feeling of wanting to pull out her hair was starting all over again, but she didnât want to do so in front of strangers she had just met.
"So, where are you from, are you that girl thatâs from Alterian as well?" Liam asked, sitting next to her.
"SHHHH!" Aurora immediately snapped, as she intensely continued to look at Raze and Safa talking. Even Simyon turned to Liam, shaking his head; it was a serious moment, and a question they had all been pondering, they wanted to know what his answer would be.
"To come to Alterian with me?" Raze said. "But why, there is no reason for you to go. Itâs not your home, this is where you are from. I donât quite understand why you would want to go to Alterian.
"Even if there is a way to send you back, the reasons Iâm going, itâs not just for a casual trip."
Safaâs head sulked down as she heard those words, and immediately Simyon came by her side. "Raze, I canât believe you would think that after all of this time?" Simyon said. "You should know what itâs like for us, and especially Safa.
"We donât have a family, me or her; since then, we have followed you every step of the way and followed everything that youâve done. We know itâs not just a trip, we know why youâre going there, we wouldnât be going there just for fun, weâre going there and going to help you."
Opening his mouth, Raze wanted to say more, trying to explain how dangerous it was, and he wondered why was he trying so hard to not allow them to follow him. If it was the others, the members of the Crimson Crane, maybe he would have just told them to do what they wanted, but Raze was somewhat against it.
"But Alterian is not your home, itâs not your job to try and help me, honestly, all of you have done more than enough."
Immediately, Safa lifted up her head and tensed both of her fists as she heard those words. "Raze, donât you understand, all of us, to us, you are our home. Wherever you are, I want to be there as well, and itâs the same for everyone else!
"Our lives would have been nothing if we had never met you. I would have been sent to that Orphanage and probably killed with all of the mess that was caused, along with Simyon."
"The whole of the Dark Faction would have probably gone as well," Liam said. "And itâs not like I really have a place to go back to either. I like being around you guys. New world, new start, and heck Raze, these guys messed up this world so badly, I would like to see at least what they look like, maybe I can hit them where it hurts once or twice."
What was becoming an even bigger surprise was that it wasnât just Safa, but it was also the other two as well. They also wished to go with Raze to the other side.
With Aurora watching all of this, she had noticed two things. How connected these people felt, as if they were a real family. She imagined if Raze was her brother and in the same situation what she would have done was similar to all of these people.
Could someone truly evil, as the shows and news outlets said, get people around him to gather like this? It wasnât some type of secret persuasion technique he was using. If anything, Aurora could see the uncomfortable look on Razeâs face, how he didnât want this to be, because he cared about them.
She knew this feeling because she felt this way about her brother, and her brother felt the same way about her.
âCome to think of itâŠI really donât know much about the Dark Magus at all. Only the things that I heard, only the things that they reported. My brother would talk about things all the time. The news channels, they had their biases.
âEveryone did, and lately, he even told me to stop visiting him at the base. It seems something has him scaredâŠis it true then, that the Grand Magus, were bad..â
In the end, after thinking it through, Raze smiled as he gave his answer. "This is your life to live, I just want all of you to have really thought it through with your decision in the end. Alterian is not a kind and safe place, and with what I have in mind, we arenât going for a trip. As long as you understand this, then I canât stop you."
Safa, Simyon, and Liamâs eyes all lit up, as they jumped up from the position they were in. The three of them gathered and were bouncing as they were celebrating, and seeing them like this, Raze had a large smile on his face.
"Beatrix was rightâŠhe really does care about these people," Aurora said.
"Alright, now Safa, Iâm going to need you to help me with my favor. Weâre going to try our best to make our very own, god-tier item!" Raze claimed.
