[Trial Name: Desperate July]
[Trial Mission: Help Micro Light City withstand the Blood Demonâs attacks for thirty days, or kill the final Blood Demon to end the trial.]
[Mission Evaluation Basis: Preserve as much of civilization as possible, at least 10%. Current progress: 100%/100%]
[Trial Description: Due to the inability to detect surviving civilization seeds, the trial is changed to "retracement mode", in which Trial Takers will be transported to a certain point in history to undergo the trial, fighting alongside heroes of the past to try and change that tragic outcome.]
[Note 1: The scenarios and characters appearing in the "retracement" are Old Memories, and the trial results will not impact the present world, nor can they save any civilization seeds.]
[Note 2: After the trial ends, any deviations caused by the Trial Taker in the copy will convert into Power of Civilization. The higher the task completion, the more Power of Civilization obtained.]
[Note 3: Normally, history cannot be changed, but Trial Takers may find equipment artifacts lost in the long river of history.]
[Trial Basic Reward: 37800 Cause and Effect Points + Artifact Equipment Rewards]
The new task mode made Chu Xiuâs eyes slightly narrow.
"Retracement mode?"
He looked around thoughtfully. No wonder the sky in this world was so clear; was it the former Corpse Demon World?
Chu Xiu had also heard of this mode. After all the "large" civilization seed gathering points disappeared, it would switch to this mode.
After all, some worlds indeed had no one left, killed off completely. Others hid tens of thousands of meters underground, and their numbers were scarce, some even mutating beyond human recognition in harsh environments. Such an Abyss was undetectable.
The energy generating the trial was only enough to conduct a broad search; it couldnât turn over every piece of land to search thoroughly.
The Blood Demonâs detection ability was formidable. Survivors in this world either hid deeply or used special artifacts like those in Peach Blossom Spring, so itâs normal not to find new civilization seed gathering points.
Therefore, Chu Xiu only paused slightly before shifting his focus elsewhere.
To him, this new mode seemed to merely alter some task backgrounds and rewards. He still had to complete the task as he should.
"The task requires protecting the people as much as possible, sounding like a garrison mission, but with the addition of Slaughter Mode, undoubtedly I need to take the initiative to attack."
If he sat idly until the thirtieth day, just on that day, thirty Civilization Envoys would descend. Considering previous accumulations and enhancements... even with Chu Xiuâs strength, he still couldnât stop such a thing!
Not to mention these Civilization Envoys would collaborate, sometimes achieving effects greater than the sum of their parts.
"First, get a general understanding of this worldâs situation, and then find a way to track the Blood Demonâs whereabouts for a direct decapitation strike!"
Chu Xiu formulated his plan.
"Hey, you there! Donât move!"
While Chu Xiu was contemplating, a loud shout suddenly came from afar. He turned his head to see a blonde girl in a fur coat nervously staring at him.
"How did you get there? Donât you know thatâs a minefield?"
Chu Xiu glanced down, his Divine Sense penetrating the soil, discovering the area around where he descended was densely packed with Claymore mines, with one nearly every ten meters over several square kilometers.
"Itâs lucky you walked so far without getting blown up, but in any case, donât move now! Iâll come to save you!"
The girl shouted, then extended her hands forward. An Oak Staff formed in her hands as she softly chanted spells, aiming the staffâs tip at Chu Xiu.
"Levitation Technique!"
As the girl commanded softly, a faint white light lifted from Chu Xiuâs body.
Yet, Chu Xiuâs body didnât move an inch.
"Eh?"
The girl was stunned, Chu Xiuâs mouth twitched, then his body slowly floated up and drifted to the girlâs side.
Seeing this, the girl exhaled a long breath, somewhat shyly saying, "Sorry, I just recently passed the awakening trial, so I donât have a perfect grasp on the spells yet."
"Plus, Iâve voluntarily turned in my Cause and Effect Points to help the Saintess master her âDomainâ sooner."
The girlâs words made Chu Xiu slightly react.
She couldnât lift him naturally not because her skills werenât skilled, but because with Chu Xiuâs current body strength, though still human-shaped, he weighed over ten tons.
If he didnât always maintain a spell for suspension, heâd easily crash through hotel floors.
What truly caught Chu Xiuâs attention was the term [Domain].
Was there someone here who could already master a Domain?
"Your Saintess, what Tier Awakened is she?" Chu Xiu asked.
Faced with his question, the girl was again stunned, then her eyes showed a look of surprise: "Wait, you donât know the Saintess? Are you from the outside? Are there survivors outside???"
Chu Xiu thought for a moment and did not deny it: "I have been alone for a long time."
The girl re-assessed Chu Xiu, her expression turning wary.
Clad in a strange mask, draped in black robes, with an odd crown on his head, he was concealing and looking unusual, definitely not a good guy!
"Come with me. According to regulations, when encountering outsiders, we must first contact the Judicial Court to verify identity. Before that, I cannot reveal any information about our base."
Seeing her tense expression, Chu Xiu smiled and said, "I can go with you, but you canât even disclose her Tier? I think that shouldnât be a secret, right?"
