Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Infiltration
Chen Xiao pursed his lips. "Fine."
After all, Li Buyi was something of a teammate assigned to him by Leng Baiyu.
If something really happened to him, it would be difficult to explain.
"Thank you, Mr. Chen! Thank you so much!" Xu Qingfeng said profusely, overwhelmed with gratitude. With Chen Xiao willing to save Li Buyi, he had dodged a bullet himself.
Chen Xiao then reminded him, "Remember to handle the paperwork with the Zhang Family."
"Yes, yes, of course!" Xu Qingfeng replied with a genial expression. "Miss Zhang, if you need anything at all in the future, just let me know."
Zhang Yaqing nodded. "Then Iâll be troubling you, Director Xu."
"I have some business at the City Governorâs Mansion," Chen Xiao told Zhang Yaqing. "You can handle the rest from here."
"Alright."
The siblings, Zhang Yaqing and Zhang Wudao, watched as Chen Xiao and Xu Qingfeng departed.
Once they were out of earshot, Zhang Wudao smacked his lips in astonishment. "Sis, whatâs Mr. Chenâs background? Even the perpetually arrogant Xu Qingfeng is sucking up to him like that. Sis, youâd better latch onto this powerhouse!"
Zhang Yaqing rolled her eyes at him. "You think I need you to tell me that? Donât you dare doubt your sisterâs charm, okay?"

Hearing that Chen Xiao was about to arrive, a group of people immediately came out to greet him.
Li Chenqian and Lin Murong respectfully ushered Chen Xiao inside.
Seeing Li Buyi lying on the sickbed with an ashen-gray face, Chen Xiao shook his head and sighed. "I told him not to eat raw-marinated delicacies, but he just wouldnât listen. See? He almost died."
Li Chenqian gave a wry smile. "Mr. Chen, you may not know this, but my father is from Yue Province. Raw-marinated delicacies are his life."
Is it really that good?
Chen Xiao muttered to himself, then took out his silver needles and jabbed them into Li Buyiâs body.
Twelve needles fell like lightning, and then... they all began to hum in unison!
Witnessing this, Li Zhengmingâs beard trembled with excitement. "The Grand Circulation! Itâs actually the legendary Grand Circulation! To think I would get to witness such a divine miracle in my lifetime!"
Lin Murong asked curiously, "Divine Doctor Li, what is the Grand Circulation?"
"The Grand Circulation is a legendary realm in traditional Chinese medicine. A doctor who reaches this level has medical skills that are considered nigh-divine! Someone like that might not appear even once in several hundred years!"
Everyone couldnât help but gasp in amazement.
How could his medical skills be so terrifyingly advanced at his young age?
Soon, they saw wisps of bluish smoke rising from the top of Li Buyiâs head, carrying a chill that made everyone shiver.
"The cold energy has been completely expelled," Chen Xiao announced as he retrieved all the silver needles.
Li Buyi, who had been unconscious the entire time, slowly opened his eyes. "What... what happened to me?"
Li Chenqian recounted the entire incident to him.
Hearing the story, Li Buyiâs face turned deathly pale. The very picture of someone who had just escaped deathâs grasp, he struggled to sit up, cupped his hands toward Chen Xiao, and said, "Thank you, Mr. Chen, for saving my life! If you ever need anything from me, just say the word!"
He had looked down on Chen Xiao before, but seeing his abilities firsthand had completely changed his opinion. This young man was definitely a master!
Thinking about it, that made sense. How could Leng Baiyuâs junior martial brother be an ordinary person?
"We can talk about that if the time comes," Chen Xiao said coolly. "Youâre fine now. Iâll be going."
Li Buyi was, after all, the head of a city. Perhaps he really could be of some help in the future.
"Um..." Li Buyi asked weakly, "Mr. Chen... can I still eat raw-marinated delicacies in the future?"
Chen Xiao was speechless.
"Eat it if youâre not afraid to die."
At this, Li Buyi sighed as if all the strength had been drained from his body. "I still have quite a stash at home... What a waste..."
Chen Xiao stroked his chin. "Not a waste. Itâs the perfect chance for me to see if itâs really that delicious."
Everyone was speechless.
Before he left, Li Buyi watched with a pained expression as Chen Xiao completely filled the trunk of his car.
That... was his lifeblood!

ăInside the villa.ă
Exhausted, Li Chenqian collapsed onto the sofa. The floor was piled high with the raw-marinated delicacies Chen Xiao had brought back from the City Governorâs Mansion.
Hearing the commotion, Li Biyun rushed downstairs. When she saw the heap of local delicacies in the living room, her eyes lit up. "Big Brother Chen Xiao, what is all this?"
"Some specialty foods from the City Governor," Chen Xiao said with a small smile. "Everyone can have a taste tonight."
"Yay! Awesome!" Li Biyun was practically drooling.
This stuff looks delicious at first glance.
Xu Yanran came downstairs in her pajamas. Seeing the dazzling array of raw-marinated delicacies, she couldnât help but make a sarcastic comment. "Whereâd you pull off this heist? And is Young Master Li here too?"
Li Chenqian gave an awkward smile. "This is just a small token of my fatherâs appreciation for Mr. Chen."
"A collection from City Governor Li himself," Xu Yanran said, her interest suddenly piqued.
Chen Xiao sneered. "Thereâs none for you, so donât even think about it."
He still remembered how this woman had accepted a favor from him, only to turn around and tattle to Luo Qingli.
Xu Yanranâs pretty face turned ashen. She crossed her arms and retorted haughtily, "Who cares?"
"Youâd better not," Chen Xiao said scornfully.
Unable to save face, Xu Yanran huffed and stormed back upstairs.
Li Chenqian handed a business card to Chen Xiao. "Mr. Chen, this is my fatherâs card. If you ever need any help in the future, please donât hesitate to contact him."
"Alright." Chen Xiao took the card and stuffed it into his pocket.
Li Chenqian tactfully took his leave.
"Iâll go get the food ready!" Li Biyun chirped, padding off in her little cotton slippers.
Soon, Luo Qingli returned to the villa and was shocked to see the piles of raw-marinated delicacies. "Where did this all come from?"
"It was a gift. I hear itâs a specialty from East Yue," Chen Xiao replied casually.
"Is this edible?" Luo Qingli asked curiously. She had never tried anything like it before.
Chen Xiao raised an eyebrow. "Why not try it and find out?"
An hour later, Chen Xiao, Luo Qingli, and Li Biyun were sprawled out on the sofa in a blissful stupor, their mouths slick with oil from the feast.
"That was amazing!" Luo Qingli and Li Biyun exclaimed, their faces glowing with satisfaction. They wanted more, but they were simply too full to eat another bite.
Chen Xiao finally understood why Li Buyi was willing to risk his life for the stuff.
Luo Qingli suddenly realized something. "Whereâs Aunt Xu? Isnât she here today? Why didnât she come down for dinner?"
Just as Li Biyun was about to speak, Chen Xiao cut in, "She wasnât hungry. She looks down on these local delicacies."
"Oh." Luo Qingli nodded thoughtfully.
Upstairs, Xu Yanran was eavesdropping and grinding her teeth in frustration.
That guy is blaming the victim, isnât he? How infuriating!
She gulped.
Are these raw-marinated delicacies really that good? A collection from City Governor Li himself shouldnât be too bad, right? If Chen Xiao wonât give her any, sheâll just take some herself! A traditional skill must not be lost.
Around three or four in the morning, after the sounds from the next room had died down, Xu Yanran tiptoed out of her room. She crept down to the small first-floor storeroom and was about to go inside when her ears suddenly pricked up.
ăOutside the villa.ă
Faint footsteps could be heard from outside. She whipped her head around just in time to see two black figures flash past the window.
Someoneâs broken in? And by the looks of it, theyâre two Martial Dao experts!
Her senses on high alert, she immediately lightened her steps and stealthily followed.
SWOOSH! Two figures silently scaled the wall to the second-floor balcony.
"Move it! Grab the item and letâs go. Donât alert that kid!"
