Chapter 972: Chapter 970: Boa Overlord
Ever since seeing the wolf devouring people, Ah Jiu seemed out of sorts, exuding an icy aura that made people hesitant to approach.
Wufu stepped forward, motioning for them to proceed while she herself glanced at his expression and asked, "Whatâs got you upset?"
Ah Jiu paused, looking at her.
"If you feel itâs too dangerous and donât want to go in, we can go back," said Wufu.
"You know Iâm not afraid of these things," Ah Jiu replied.
"Then whatâs the matter?"
Ah Jiu sighed, reached out, and plucked a small white leaf from her head, saying, "I just donât like hearing those kinds of words from you."
"What?" Wufu asked, a bit puzzled.
"You said if it were you, you wouldnât want to be left out in the open... I donât like hearing that," Ah Jiu stated.
Wufu was taken aback and chuckled, "I was just speaking casually, but youâve taken it to heart."
"Whether you mean it or not, I donât like hearing it," Ah Jiu held her face and said, "Promise me you wonât say those things anymore."
His eyes were as dark as ink, seemingly drawing her in. Wufu instinctively nodded, "Alright, I wonât say it."
Ah Jiu smiled with his eyes, "Good." Then, he quickly pecked her on the lips.
The kiss was too quick for Wufu to savor, leaving her dissatisfied, and she grunted, "Sneaking attacks arenât fair; if youâre going to do it, make it a deep one."
She stood on tiptoe, preparing to return the kiss, but then heard the sound of weapons and a fight.
The two exchanged a glance and swiftly dashed towards the source of the noise, only to find a giant tree crashing towards them.
"Watch out."
Wufu quickly pulled Ah Jiu aside, avoiding the thick massive tree, and through the treetops, she glanced ahead, her expression drastically changed.
"Damn it. What kind of place is this? Someone tell me how the heck that thing came here!" Wufu cursed furiously.
Ah Jiu followed her gaze, inhaling sharply, his face pale: "That, what is that?"
"Boa, the largest and strongest dominator of the tropical jungle," Wufu gritted her teeth, "Compared to it, what we encountered before were merely appetizers. This is the main course, the supreme overlord!"
She couldnât comprehend it; wasnât it supposed to be only in the Amazon Jungle? Oh heavens, is this where she is going to end up?
"Is it very powerful?" Ah Jiu looked at the thing resembling a gigantic snake, swallowed hard, why would such a thing appear within the Nanyue Region? If this Cloud Realm lost control and such a creature escaped, wouldnât it cause widespread devastation?
"Canât you see?" Wufu pointed to the dozen or so people fighting against the Boa. Apart from their team, there were others, even acquaintances.
Besides the first trio to learn about the Cloud Realm, called Tie Hanyang Brothers, there was the woman they encountered upon entering the Cloud Realm days ago, along with her junior disciples.
However, now the woman was far from her previous bold and dashing demeanor, appearing extremely disheveled as she narrowly avoided the Boaâs sweeping tail.
Nearly twenty people were fighting the Boa without success, showing how formidable and dominant it was.
As its massive tail swept two people away, followed by a miserable scream, Wufu and Ah Jiuâs expressions turned the same color as the earth beneath their feetâashen.
"Youâd better find a place to hide," Ah Jiu pressed down on Wufuâs shoulder and said in a grave tone.
This creature was too fearsome; they might not be its match, and there was no reason to make meaningless sacrifices.
"Thereâs no time!" Wufu drew her long sword and charged towards the injured and increasingly frenzied Boa.
